yeah it seems like since the invasion of plastic in the 50's home sewing machines went down hill from there.

I love the ornate art on these old machines, im actually starting to think about doing my own ornate art or pinstriping on the ones in my collection where the original art is worn off. and i have an idea for painting the bed of this machine that i might do before this series is done. also hey i appreciate the comments. im subscribed to your channel. i was asking for comments on how i should finish the wood top on this but nobody said anything so i went with a clear lacquer.

@@AlignedStar Well good luck pal is the art work a kind of print transfer then lacquered over.

the majority of them were water applied decals and then french polished as far as i know. earlier back the majority of them the finish was whats called "japanning" its a process i dont recall off hand exactly what they used but the black color was froma concoction using certain plants and tar or something like that. the pearl inlayed machines are pretty unique. they would do the pearl inlays then cover it with the japanning and then sand it down to reveal the pearl art works

thanks! i have yet to find a handle for this whip and i was thinking about making my own custom handle. potentially cast it with clay then use fiberglass or carbon fiber and resin and incorporate some trigger from another torch. the reason for me is keeping cost down. ill make a video if i do that. i will check out the euro connectors though. thanks for the idea

thanks for the confidence although turns out this machine is borderline impossible to get parts for, however i wont give up on finding a handle for it. If i have to figure out how to make my own handle for it then i will. maybe with a 3d printer or something.

lol I hope I can source a handle with trigger for this.
