I did hear the bells in a couple of the towns we visited! The university I went to had bells and they chimed on the hour. They even had concerts on some Sundays. I don’t think they were rung by hand though. I wish I’d paid more attention.

Very nice projects and haul. I found my perfect linen for the Go tell it on the mountain. Could be fun to begin it with you when you will be ready ;-). For the Strawberry Field chart....the zig zag are the flower pot I think 😊

Just found you and because of your mentioned of Aztec and Mesa Verde, I’m wondering where you are. I’m in Durango, CO and haven’t found many stitchers here, lots of quilters which I am too.
I’m in Farmington and love coming up to Durango when I can. I hear there’s a group of stitchers that meet locally on Saturdays and the library has a group on Wednesday afternoons that do a variety of stitching types but I haven’t been able to go to either yet. I wish we had some place close by to shop for cross stitch and had stitching events. I’m going to try to go to some quilting days at Stitch for their new Quilt Along. Having a little local crafty community would be so nice!
Come visit the Durango library Friday or Saturday, the Friends are having our book sale, and if you do, look for me, I’m the volunteer chair!
Looks like I missed the sale😭 I love a good library sale. I’ve donated so many of my own books. I don’t think I’ve ever been to the Durango library. It was the first place I visited in Farmington when we were deciding whether or not to move there. It’s a wonderful library. We often stop by libraries when we are traveling, especially old Carnegie libraries. Thank you for volunteering! I feel pretty strongly about supporting libraries.💕💕💕

Thank you! I am doing well. I had planned to film a Flosstube when I returned from the UK in June. Life had other plans! We had a camping trip in CO in July and I started a new job the 3rd week of July. I haven’t gotten much stitching in but starting to settle in a bit and hopefully more stitching and sewing is on the horizon. I’m off Friday so fingers crossed. Maybe I can film a little update.🩷🩷🩷

So glad your "camper retreat" was a success. I had the same problem you did with those heart shaped thread snag, only the wire broke on mine the second time I used it. Love your Ball jar with flowers project. Have a happy Mother's Day, hope it is a stitching day for you.
I've recently started Flea Market Flowers too, I started it for my anniversary piece in April. I don't plan to follow the stitch along guidelines due to what I'm working on but plan to follow others progress. I plan to update my progress on my flosstube. The 502 stitcher.

It took me a couple of months to do Flea Market Flowers. I think what helped me is that I started with the border and the lines for all the boxes, then I stitched the flowers. I also don't have as much to work on as you do. It was fun. Your idea for your retreat is cute. Have fun.

Sometimes I think about learning to sew so I can quilt.
It’s not as hard as it seems. And having a quilt to snuggle with in the end is pretty satisfying!

I have asthma, and have had it including childhood. One day my father got a great idea and got rid of my down pillow (and my sister’s too, since we shared a bed) and started giving me a new pillow quite frequently. It really helped. Just a note: non-allergenic pillows do not necessarily mean non-asthmatic. I still change my pillow quite frequently, especially when my asthma starts getting active at night.

Love that! It was our first time at In/Out and it was pretty good. I can’t eat gluten so they were awesome and wrapped my burger with lettuce. PHX definitely has a lot to offer. We stopped at a great used bookstore (and Barnes & Noble), too.

The Mill Hill instructions usually tell you to do all the stitching before placing the beads. Putting the beads on a piece of fleece will help you keep them in place as well.
These are such great tips! Thank you! I’ll keep these in mind when I start stitching that kit again. I would have never thought of the fleece.
If you want to let the 3 birdwatchers go, offer it to someone who wants to finish it for themselves.
That’s always a good option. It makes me realize I’m not ready to let it go. Maybe I should consider putting some stitches in on a regular basis.
Found out about you from a shout out from Katie the Novel Stitcher! Loved all the things you shared! Loved the duct tape project bag your daughter made! And I also liked the half stitches and then every 10th stitch do a whole cross for the borders.

Just went to pick up some new shoes today so I can start getting out for some short walks and hopefully be a little more active as I continue healing. I’m going to sew some more of those quilt blocks together tonight. I haven’t touched it in a while so I’m eager to get it moving along again. Hope you’re having a great weekend!

@@emaleamiller5223 I’m about 3 hours north of ABQ in Farmington. It’s pretty close to the mountains, an hour south of Durango. ABQ has similar shopping opportunities to KC. Santa Fe is very close and very artsy. We still have a lot of exploring to do down there. I did like the Zoo and Old Town Albuquerque. I think it would be an interesting place to live. We’re going to check out the university there for my daughter.

Try ironing stabilizer on the backs of your small ornaments. It may give you a better sewing surface to make pillows. You could also hem stitch around the outside, fringe the sides and sew to the tops of finished pillows. Just a couple of thoughts.
