Discover It is my oldest card; I am forever loyal because they gave me the first opportunity to establish credit and start my credit journey

I’ve had the Discover It since 2015! Agree with everything in the video! Super solid cash back card with great multiplier categories but unfortunately Discover isn’t accepted widely outside the US. Maybe that’ll change with the Capital One merger? One other thing I will say that wasn’t mentioned in the video is that Discover’s customer support is top tier! Always available, easy communication and friendly anytime I had an issue or lost a card. Hoping that doesn’t go away with the merger haha

Love Discover! Outside of US I don’t try to maximize my spend much, I take a no foreign transaction fee Mastercard (Citi Premier) and a no foreign transaction fee Visa (NFCU cashRewards). Great overview and information hermano!🫵

After your 15 months 0% APR with Discover, if you still need a 0% period, get the Bank of America Customized Cash Rewards Visa. Over a 2-1/2 year period I used these 2 cards to pay down $23,000 on a higher interest Navy Federal Visa by doing a triangular bounce OUT to Discover then back DOWN to a 0% APR Navy Federal Platinum Card $20,000 credit line. Repeated it with Bank of America. Ordinarily you cannot move a balance from One credit card to another credit card at the same financial institution. BUT, if you do this triangular bounce you can do it. I only paid 3% for the outgoing transfer to Discover. Navy Federal doesn't charge balance transfer fees. And then I did the same thing with the Bank of America card in the second year. With a new credit card you will not be able to do the first balance transfer until... It's either 10 days or two weeks. Request the 1st transfer a couple of days before that date. You need to stay on top of the transfers and keep them moving. You make the request with the bank and credit card that the transfer is going TO. WHEN YOU SEE THAT THE COUPON IS ISSUED, you can request the next transfer going back down. The reason you do this is because initial transfer periods are often only 30, 60 or 90 days. Each transfer is complete when it says TRANSFER COMPLETE. You'll get a feel for the timing of when to initiate the next triangle bounce. Actually, I found it pretty exciting 😄😄 And it's important to vary the $ dollar amount of each transfer so they won't get flagged as duplicates. What you're doing is legal. You just want to keep the system from automatically flagging it. Exp: Transfer 2400 out, 2400 down. Next transfer 2405 our, 2405 down. Next transfer 2410 out, 2410 down. Etc...

“Discover your way back to America” That’s savage, but I know the feeling. I’ve had the same thing happen to me with Amex overseas. No issue with Visa. What still surprises me is when businesses here in the US don’t accept Amex. I always ask “wait a minute, what country am I in?” That always gets the look from them. These days I rarely use my Amex for spend, so it rarely happens, but your point is 💯here. It’s so much easier to use Visa and MC, especially when abroad.

A super customer service lady from Discover made a HUGE contribution to me turning my credit around. And then the same night, it was another super customer service lady from Navy Federal Credit Union who did the same. I'll never forget them. 🥰🥰

Discover is a dope card they need a refresh and a whole new update , sucks cause they was a brand that definitely help everybody out in there early stages , not much u here from this company these days

I’m completely fine with cash back cards in my setup because I need to subsidize my annual fees somehow 😂 I don’t have the Discover card, but my girlfriend does! And Q3’s categories are Walmart and grocery stores so she’ll definitely get a lot of use out of it here soon!

Wow! There have been a couple of places that don't take Amex here in the states, but I've never had an issue with my Discover card here in the US. I would have definitely had my Discover card as a "Plan C" when traveling internationally, but now I will know not to even bring it! Thanks for this super useful information! No cash-back cards for me. No fun there! I do have the Chase Freedom Flex as part of my 15 travel cards setup to complement my beautiful Chase Sapphire Reserve for maximum URPs accumulation. Actually, the Freedom Flex is my only no annual fee card in my 15 travel cards setup. Oh, and I do not have any Discover card and never will. 😂

This is good to note. Just know that now that Apple has been forced to allow alternative payment methods, you’ll probably see discounts of 20-30% on a lot of these app subscriptions if you pay them directly vs through Apple. It’s just now starting but I’m sure it will be the default over time.

The green card is so overrated. Every time I think about downgrading my platinum to a green, I don’t feel bad. I just can’t let go of my lounge access because I use it so much.

Since I axed my Citi Strata Premier card, I upgraded my Amex Hilton Honors to the Hilton Surpass card the Amex will be a superior earner the rewards categories on the Hilton Surpass cover lots of territory!

Folks, it's a pretty good situation when you can get the Autograph and the Strata-Custom Cash-Double Cash. Fill in the blank- If I was just starting out, I would want those four plus _________________.

I was denied the WF Journey.. Maybe because I got the 6-month waiting period wrong and applied two days too early😂😂 BUT, I was approved for the Citi Srata! Applied through the Citi app, timed the application with my monthly FICO update. Soft pull only 😄 825 FICO8 Equifax 😎 Citi Trifecta completed! 😄😄🎉🎉🎉

Just got approved for WF Autograph. I notice I can take advantage with the multiplier for transit. I got the Citi custom cash but that exclusive for Supermarkets as is my highest expense.

All that comes with a cheap lightweight card that feels like a toy credit card haha. No way this one doesn’t get a design revamp soon, I would have kept it if it were premium looking and feeling. Citi Premier was eye catching and looked expensive and was still plastic but thicker.

Nice video Joe. I have Citi Customer Cash cards and same situation - can only use in U.S. On the other hand, USBAR as cash back card and Visa infinite has no FTF

Good stuff brother! Oh yeah, it's definitely not good for out of the country use. You didn't Do Your Research before you went to Europe hahahaha But it's a solid card and You can have 2 which is great, because of that 100% cash back match in year one. And like you said, it's cool that we can get 4 designs. I think I have 3.. the regular, one with my initials and one with a radio design. Remember, you can't eat, drink, buy souvenirs or pay for excursions with Points and Miles so I have to keep a couple cashback cards 🫡

I was thinking of the getting the gold card. When I saw the benefits of the green card, I went bingo! It's surprising not many people use this card. I work in the restaurant industry in New York City. I usually come across the Platinum card, Gold sometimes and the green very rarely.

I now realize that with Citi Strata I can utilize the $100 annual Hotel benefit by using only $100 worth of points to book a $500 hotel stay for $270, 100 + 100 + 30 Points + Benefit + 10X 500 - 230 = 270 out of pocket Nice!

If Wells Fargo adds Wyndham and Aeroplan, I'm all in. Right now I have Autograph Choice Privileges Select BILT Having Wyndham and Choice would be great. Citi already has both of those...hmmm.... That's pretty sweet.
