I have an issue, I'm trying to make a drill song with lyrics but the beat never drops when I want it to, I've tried putting it at the start, at the end and between the last and second-to-last words in the verse. I've also tried putting it every 2nd verse to see if maybe having it after every verse was an issue. Do you have any tips? Thanks in advance

Ive done this by plugging a TR-606 to an amp with effects, it sounded very similar. I had chorus too, that sound never got old. Couldve played like that for hours

I actually like putting delay on the drumbus with automation to spice up the hook sometimes. One important thing to mention, that some beginners who see this might not consider, is that you need to mix the wet signal, either in the delay plugin itself and/or on a send channel. For example, if you have a lot of kicks, remove some of the lowend so you won't run into phasing issues when kicks overlap. Keep the feedback amount in mind to keep too many repetitions from disturbing the groove you had in mind. With the kick and snare usually being mostly in mono, a ping pong delay might work wonders because the sound will kinda be wrapped around the dry signal without getting in the way, but at the same time, you would have to remove the lowend even more to not commit lowend warcrime. In general, mix with intend and experiment. Break the rules, but only if you keep in mind why they exist in the first place 🔥
