Handy man fail lol Just call a plumber. I go to so many jobs where the so called 'handyman' has failed and made it worse.
Thank you so much 🎉🎉🎉I was locked out and got in !!!
I would have done the same thing. This is basically why I transitioned my handyman business into more of a builder business. I build sheds, covered patios, car ports, and also split rail fences. It’s been nice to be able to schedule out gigs and work with a different class of client. Good luck bro

What state are you in ? I do the same work here in Virginia , and I know it can sometimes be grueling meeting deadlines turning a unit by yourself … Especially when you’re having to fix the last contractors mess ups in order to have things done correctly..
I'm on California. It is a challenge doing it by yourself especially if you have multiple projects your working on. Best thing I did was getting a helper. And they can just simply just help clean as I go.

@roncomesinhandy4891 no prob. I've been in the blind industry for ten years. I make them at a small mom and pop factory which doesn't pay very well but the installs do. I work for a guy who has a contract with Lowe's and other small companies. Feel free to ask me anything.

Hey bro, what naics code can I use for Handyman/lawncare service for my LLC
@@9two5_by_highrepmafia you have to pick one or the other. I don't think they have a code for both. So since my business is 90% handyman I choose the code for that. And I think I choose a construction code. There wasn't one for handyman

It is code violation to use a Black or any other color of wire besides Green or bare copper for ground. Unless you mark the Black with Green Tape. There was also some bad connections where someone used tape, you should have fix those and used wire nuts. Videos like one only proves why you should hire a electrician for your electric work, rather then doing it your self, or having a handy man do the work.
At least you don’t litter! Thank you!
You can take painters, tape and hold the cover out of the way while you’re working. Also, why don’t we blow off all of the dust and everything and clean it up before we start hammering in the studs. You failed to mention how deep you need to drill. You can put a piece of tape on the drill to keep you from going too far, and making the drill holes consistent
Yeah okay it looked like it was already unlocked cause I heard no break
It looks like you have 2 GFIs on the same circuit. You can’t do that. They’ll interfere with each other.

Did I really just watch this? As an electrical engineer, this should be a warning vid against "handymen". They know just enough to screw it up really good. That whole damn panel needs corrections, BUT, all anyone ever hears is $$. If it turns on today, who cares about tomorrow!?
I would have put electrical tape on the screws of the outlets since it's in a metal box
This is good to know on my preapprentice journey. @theforgottenman270 made a good point with the interior outlets being outside. open ground with 240v would mean there was something else high powered there and they needed regular outlets and didnt change configuration. I like videos like this its a good learning curve and the comment gives feedback that will help!
It's good to see a black man actually working. Keep up the good work. Don't fall victim to that toxic, self-defeating shithole called black "culture". Make your own culture. A wholesome culture.
Is that you Trump😅
It's the grounding bus and the neutral bus , that is one ugly panel wiring lol.
I have little knowledge of electric wiring, just the basics. I could tell that ticking electrical 🔥 was not good.
I can see what they did. they were installing a multi wire branch, two hots and a neutral. they wanted two separate 120 volt receptacles sharing one neutral. that requires a double pole breaker. Check 210.4 of the NEC. Personally, I'd give them 2 options. 1 replace and rewire that box or they can do the work themselves. If you really want to bother with that fire hazard you can install a single wire breaker and put the white wire on the neutral. 2 single pole breakers for a multi wire branch is a no no. Those receptacles are not a good idea either unless they go through a GFCI and I don't see that happening. I see a lot of trouble in their future running unbalanced loads from one neural.
@@rickhunt3183 right, in this area is where they had their RVs at. But the new owner wants to correct all of this
There is no mystery... The answer is in the work he removed.... until a guy kills two breakers and guts a gang box without knowing what they are doing. Super frustrating when people change multiple variables at the same time and validate nothing. The wire colors do not match on each end. I don't think the wire gauge matches either. 2:49 There is no yellow wire in the outlet gang box. It appears to be standard 14/3 nm (black, white, copper). 4:44 The wire in the breaker box sure seems to be at least #12 and no ground. I can't tell what amperage the tandem breakers are. So to make it a proper multi wire branch. Dual pole breaker WITH tie bar. Tandem breaker is not allowed. Black on top breaker to hot of left outlet. Yellow on bottom breaker to hot on right outlet. White to neutral busbar in breaker box and to the neutral of BOTH outlets Ground... Ground is going to be a problem. Conduit should be ground, but now there is also the ground inside that romex that doesn't show up in the breaker panel 4:44.... Ground does not appear to have ever been secured to the gang box. His little tester showed open ground while the outlets were tied into the romex ground and screwed down to the gang box, which in effect would have tied all possible grounds together... But it didn't. Wires have clearly changed in flight. Without a ground there is no GFCI. I'm guessing the way it is wired right now would provide 240v at the outlets if both breakers were on... I say guessing because I don't know how the outlets are wired.
@@Failure_Is_An_Option It's clear it;'s a multi wire branch . I believe nec article 334.12 (b) (4) also applies in this situation. I'm not being paid so I really don't have dog in this fight.
I found multiple of problems with what's going on here. Problem 1, the receptacles aren't WR and you installed non WR receptacles. Problem 2, those receptacles need to be GFCI protected. You'll need to replace one of the receptacles with a WR GFCI receptacle. Be sure you install the power on the line side, and then come out of the load side to energize the second receptacle. Problem 3, the box which the conduit runs into, that your receptacles are installed to, needs to be exterior rated, and the one currently installed isn't exterior rated. Problem 4, the connector the conduit runs into that attaches to the outlet box needs be an exterior rated compression connector. Problem 5 you figgured out. They energized the ground and I'm sure it made for some beautiful fire works. Best thing to do is to go over everything and make sure it's all wired correctly, just so you don't have to make additional future trips.
@@TheForgottenMan270 thanks for the feedback. What if instead of making the outlets GFCI, I change the breaker into GFCI?
so i tried, the same thing didn't happen, it just tore the door knob off, but it still allowed me to stick my needle nose in and unlock, so it still works either way 👍
Sounds like you put too much downforce on the knob rather then rotation.
Wobbly? I would not be able to charge a customer for such a bad product....looks like a piece of junk.
Bro, what is dude doing? 🤦♂ first off, make sure the fuse is completely taken out please. For goodness sakes you don’t want to get electrocuted or cause arcing. Also I’ve never seen wires “crimped” together to make a splice. You’re supposed to use a wire nut or a wago connector. Definitely don’t ever do this with hot and or neutral wires. Am I wrong here or is this somehow common practice to use a barrel crimp to make connections? I’ve never really seen or heard of this being done. Crimping is usually done on stranded wire only anyway. Am I wrong about that? Anyone? I’ve never seen that done where I’ve been and worked before. Just get a wire nut, line all the wires up, and twist it on. You can always read the directions too if they have them. Typically what I do , and what many electricians do is twist the set of wires together that you’re connecting, snip off the ends , and then put a wire nut on. Most of the time though putting a wire nut real tight and doing a pull test will be good enough if you’re not into twisting the wires or not good at it. Again, there is also the wago connectors. Even easier but I’m not always sure about their reliability. I’ve heard some good and some bad but I’m sure they work fine. Especially for stranded wire. Anyway, I think those options are still way better and safer than this. Maybe I’m wrong. I don’t think so though. Lastly before I go too, just strip off the entire wire to bare when using another color besides green for ground wire, so that it is correct for ground and so that in the future it doesn’t end up confusing anyone. Someone might go in there to change a bad receptacle and say ,”what the heck is going on here? Why is there a black wire on the ground screw?” Lol.
thanks for the feedback
