    They don't make them like this anymore. These days we can't watch anything on T.V without it having some form of politics. That's because every media institution has been hijacked. Honestly, it's like a form of terrorism, no wonder people are so unhappy & depressed! Here we have two absolute legends having a very interesting chat. It's so refreshing to see actual entertainment. Al Pacino is one of the greats & has been for decades! His legendary status will last forever. Now days the actors are know it all political snobs and are all pretty much disposable. Here today, gone tomorrow.

      That's for sure, today's actors are a bunch of self absorbed political snobs with a shelf life that's shorter than the expiration date on a carton of eggs.

      No but she did date Paul McCartney. As far as James he's related to the Lipton teabag. ..One of these statements aren't true can you guess which one?

    I used to watch this show alot when it came on TV. Looking back I do find it a bit laughable how much importance they put on actors, but I guess they are in that business so they would.

    • @nenabunena
      @nenabunena 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's about actors, of course they interview actors. You don't expect them to interview cops or doctors lol

    • @afz3003
      @afz3003 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nenabunena you miss my point, I know it would be about actors I'm talking about the amount of reverence they give to the job of acting. Like it's not that important, they talk about acting as if it's the pinnacle of all art forms

    • @nenabunena
      @nenabunena 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @afz3003 again it's the actor's studio, if it was the painter's studio, or musician's studio, same thing. You're the one not getting it

    5:00 The biggest moment: Al Pacino's big family secret finally revealed!

  • @kreemothedreamo
    @kreemothedreamo ปีที่แล้ว

    I appreciate the sentiment of comments here saying Pacino is the greatest actor ever. But I avoid talking about any artists, including actors and musicians, like sports teams or athletes. The success and impact in athletics is more measurable, with statistics and championships. It is ultimately about winning. But true art and artists aren’t based in competition, or really comparison. I understand obviously there are awards for acting, but those are really just self-congratulatory excuses for a televised party of sorts. And that’s why I really appreciated Inside the Actors Studio, because it was about having a revealing discussion about the craft of acting and storytelling, and it wasn’t about just having those discussions with the actors and filmmakers with the most awards, or even the most impact. I mean, who’s to say that Pacino was a better or greater actor than Daniel Day Lewis, or vice versa? Or Marlon Brando, or even Phillip Seymour Hoffman for that matter? Or maybe Meryl Streep is greater than all of them and all male actors. Just as a side note: her performance in August Osage County is one of my all-time favorite performances, right up there for me with Denzel Washington in Training Day. And Denzel, another one that’s in the discussion as one of the all-time greats The point is that they all brought their own style of story-portraying to the table, and thankfully they shared their gifts and journeys with all of us. And thankfully there was a guy like James Lipton to give them a forum and to really give all of us a peak into what made them tick as artists. Another one of my favorite episodes that really illustrates my appreciation for this show was with Dustin Hoffman. He really shows his deep emotional connection to the craft, and how a lot of his drive as a performer was rooted in understanding the family life he came from, especially his father whom he compared to the character of Willy Loman from Death of a Salesman. The phrase he used to describe his deep connection to acting was that acting was only thing that allowed himself to get lost in something. Almost like a drug, but without the self-destruction
