Can you make a video showing the STL? Im yet to see anyone showcasing the stl. This would show you completely the resolution that is claimed in the scanner. I also have not seen anyone 3d print a face scan. I want to see how the stl looks like after the person has been scanned, without the color textures as well as a 3d print of it. Most scanners have trouble catching hair and always seem to turn hair particles into mush in the final stl. Does this scanner do the same thing?
Yes we will make a video for showing stl images. We appreciate your input!
Do you guys offer any support?
Yes, we offer technical support and customer service. Please email us info@umax.com for any questions. Thank you!
Thanks for posting. We have been using an original Einscan H mostly for faces. Found it a bit difficult for smaller sized irregular objects eg maybe smaller than a lemon- what is the smallest practical size the H2 can scan?
Hello! Usually EinScan H or H2 can scan from 6" and up. For small item under 6" or 5", you can put it on top of a bigger item (or besides) to scan them all together and cut it. Or you can put the small item on the table with markers randomly around. Both methods work well.
@@umax2639 thanks for the tips!
Nice job, there's so many tips techniques and tricks that it's sometimes hard to know where to start. But it's not rocket science to get your man shivering with ecstasy just by changing the way you talk. As simple as this sounds, maybe try escalating it a step at a time, go’ogle something like Words of Desire by Celestine Dessike to sneakily crawl into his mind and let it build on from that.
Thank you for your comments!
Sir can a couple be scanned together using einscan h2?
Yes, you can scan two objects together. We've scanned 4~5 objects including big & small together too.
Please if you have a together video then send the link.

Is it true that Shining 3d will not play nice with AMD Radeon based graphics? if so, I will have to consider Creality Otter. I can not seem to find any definitive certainty on this subject, no responce from Shining 3d as of yet. Not sure how to expect the customer support or information inquiries from the company.
Yes it is true that all Shining3d's products are designed based on Intel CPU with Nvidia graphics chips because of its engineering structure.
Nice ! Thank you very much for the video. Is it much better than the first version? Thanks
Yes, the scanning speed is 8 times faster and the data's dense integrity is better.
Very helpful, but you really need to speak up. A bit soft.
Thanks for your advice!
I just bought this scanner and have scan small object well and have been really impressed with it but I bought with intent to scan some larger object such as the side of my boat (less than 10ft) to get the decals. I have large object and low res select but the scan has no color, the decals cannot be seen, is it because i selected large object with low res? Any reason I cannot scan constrasting colors?
Would you make sure you select "color" or "texture" setting at the beginning? For large object, you may need to separate into 2 or 3 projects, and then you can combine them. If you need more help, please contact us directly at info@umax.com
u guys always say "look at the link in the desc", but then not put a link in the desc, smh...
We used to put the links there but the manufacture changes it from time to time, so we removed it after all. However if you are interested in any info, please let us know and we can put a new link for you.
Well done!
Michael Bolton ?
Please can you do a video where you showcase each scanning option and explain the difference between each of them? I’m having a hard time understanding each of them and how to combine together depending on the part I’m trying to scan 🙏
Sure we can create another video later. In the meantime, you may see one other video below. It has detailed explanation for each feature. th-cam.com/video/eTjd85uRcJ4/w-d-xo.html

That is amazing! Great presentation!
My boss bought this and had me learn this how to use this so I can teach him. I've not an idea on how to save what I scanned so that's why I'm here
Hi, at this video of 7:49, you will see the right tool bar. After you finish the scan, you will continue to click on "mesh" button. After that, you can click on "Save" button which is the top second button on the right side tool bar. It will save as STL format which is very standard in the industry.
Why my 3d scanner out notice “not enough features to align” ? What does it mean?
It means the scanner can't recognize the object at this moment. It can be several reasons below: 1, The object has many flat area without markers so the scanner can't recognize it. In this case, you will need to put some markers on the object. 2. The setting between the object & scanner may not be good enough. Like the brightness, distance,..
why when I calibrate white balance does my 3D scanner doestn’t work? But when i calibrate step 1 - step 5 it’s work?
White balance is for the scanner with Color camera only. When your scanner is attached the Color camera, you will redo the whole calibration. You can't simply do white balance alone. You will start from step 1~5 and then white balance in order to complete the whole calibration process.
how do you prevent the scanner from scanning in the surface that your object is laying on?
There are two ways: 1, you can use a black cloth as the surface that your object is laying on, usually if the brightness setting is not too low, the scanner won't capture the black cloth while you're scanning your object. 2, If the surface is not black color, you still can scan the object as usual and of course the scanner will capture the both object and the bottom surface. And then you can use "Cutting plan" tool to locate the unwanted surface and remove it. Cutting plan is a useful tool which you can find it from the bottom tool bar in the ExScan scanning software.
How do you CANCEL or STOP scanning process ? I dont see any button or anything
At the right side of your tool bar, you can find a Stop button. It's the second button from the top.
the #1 issue is its not registering the device without an account.
That's right. You will need to register a new Shining3d account first before you can activate the scanner.
Thank you! Awesome!
Glad you liked it!
Johnny - you are great
I just got mine today and so far I've been able to scan a rubber duck, a beer can (misted with alc and talc powder) and a crazy mask I made in grade 9 art 20+ years ago. The quality has exceeded my expectations. Plan on upgrading if you like lots of triangles. 7950x and 64gb, rtx4090. Need more ram.
Sounds good!
Great demo!
Gracias por el video un gran aporte
You are welcome!
You are talking many times in the video about links in the description for driver issues or other links, however you have no links in the description...
Hello, here is the link for the Einstar driver issue: support.einstar.com/support/solutions/articles/60000790760-einstar-continues-rebooting-in-device-manager Sorry we removed the link from the description later because the manufacture updated the URL support link from time to time. The link we posted a year ago is not valid anymore.
Excellent video thanks. I have just started to use my Einstar and am very impressed with it. I did however have a problem after scanning a part in my boat approx 1,5 metres long 1 metre tall. It scanned beautifully but when it came to the generating a point Cloud bit it hung up at 43% and I lost all the data by having to shut down. I think the file size was too big . Is there a way of telling that your file is getting too big? Can you split the project at this stage and generate several smaller point clouds to merge later? Any help appreciated Thanks P.S. my laptop meets all the specs advised .
Hello, Thanks for your message! If the computer crashed, you still can restart your computer and open your previous project file to resume your original project. After you open the original project, you can continue to create Point cloud. In addition, for scanning large object, you can split into 2~3 projects and align them together later. But make sure you have enough common (overlap) area in between each project. Best regards
@@umax2639 many thanks I’ll have another go !
My exscan won't let me do any post processing
Hello, You will first need to click on "Optimize to point cloud" button on the right side of your tool bar. When you still in the scanning stage, it's the raw data. You need to change it to point cloud data, and then you can move to post processing (to become mesh data).
"press this button" at 6:50 was off the screen.
Yes. You are right! He pressed the "Alignment" button on the right side tool bar of the screen. We didn't realize the right side toolbar wasn't filmed at that time.
Great video! question though, my scanner shows blue lights when it's not connected to my laptop. However, when i connect the wire to my laptop, the bottom LED immediately turns red and the device begins connecting and disconnecting. The shining 3D EXstar will not recognize the scanner either, it just shows online. Please help!
Hello, you can power off the scanner and power it back on to try again. In the meantime, temporarily disable your anti-virus or security software in your computer. Also make sure you plug it into your USB 3 port in your computer.
@@umax2639 awesome, thank u so much!
Awesome presentation!!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for the video. That music though 😢
You're welcome!
Will the Einstar utilise marker dots for better tracking on large flat surfaces?
Yes that's right. For big flat surface area, it's essential to apply some markers so the scanner can capture these data. When you scan with marker alignment, the scanner usually has better accuracy. Each scan shot from scanner needs to see at least 4 makers a time. Each marker should be about 1~2 inch apart each other.
I really do not like videos like this. I was hoping for a indepth exploration on how to scan small objects in the best quality, but not only was the highest quality option not selected for this, it was also not fused with the highest option and had all sorts of end result altering settings on, as well as never showing the low poly scan without texture. I can only imagine, with those settings, and how poor quality the texture was, that the underlying mesh geometry wouldn't be very high quality. This was a video to really show the capabilities of the scanner - with the small object 0.1mm setting with the best fuse settings, etc., but no. I'm beginning to think this scanner cannot do small scale high res scanning, as these videos NEVER show it, so it's really put me off this particular scanner.
Einstar scanner basically was designed to scan from at least 5 inches size and up. The purpose of this video is to show one of workarounds to scan smaller object like 2 inches. If you wish to scan small object (1 inch~5 inches) with very high quality like 0.05mm accuracy, 0.1mm resolution, it should be EinScan SP scanner.
Great video. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Is it possible to continue to scan in a previous project once a new one has been created? Say i want to go back the initial scan?
Yes, you can always go back to open the old project to resume your scan.
@@umax2639 Is there a trick to changing the active project?
I think you're asking how to rollback the previous scanned state during the current project. For doing this, there is no other way. If you would like to scan something challenged, you should always save a copy of the current project first. If it doesn't work out, you then can go back to the previous saved project to start over.
Awesome presentation! Thank you. Easy to understand.
Glad you enjoyed it!
hi i want to ask you is the einscan support for windows 11 (the latest windows)?
Yes. EinScan works for Windows 11.
Awesome presentation!!!! Thank you! Well done.
Many thanks!
good to know, i ll keep the Einstar 😅
Good choice!
you know you're asking us to click buttons that are off the screen, right
Would you tell us which part of the video that you have this question?
@@umax2639 Sure! th-cam.com/video/eTjd85uRcJ4/w-d-xo.html
@@umax2639looks like the capture software is not scaled correctly
For the video from time 6:44, he's doing alignment. He aligned two different scanned data/projects into one image. Usually if there are some common area between these two scanned data, the software can automatically align them together into one piece or you can manually align them too. In this video, he clicked on the "Manuel Alignment" button on the top second left corner which you can see it from the screen.
@@umax2639 what's he click off screen to the right before clicking the alignment button on the left?

Do you have a video showing the measurements? Can you import into solidworks?
Not yet for video showing the measurement but we will make it next time soon. The scanner generates either STL or OBJ files. Yes, you can import it into Solidworks to continue its post application.
