To your point about not knowing what team is going to show up every week- the difference between Nebraska and all above average teams, is all those teams compete every week. Nebraska has a penchant for forgetting to get off the bus. A loss isn’t bad, as long as you actually compete.

Hopefully we get past this rough patch in the season with the same grace that MattyO and Geoff got through the rough patch of TJ's hotel wifi! 😂

If Rhule doesn’t replace Folly before next season, I am sorry, that will cause me to question every staff move going forward. That is such a no-brainer move and if Rhule fails to make it, my confidence in his decision making will be completely gone.

I gotta laugh at Nebraska fans who are surprised. NU is the ONLY D1 team who hasn't made a 6 win bowl game since 2016. Almost a DECADE. Delusional and arrogant Nebraska fans destroyed the team. Demanding Solich get fired after a 10 win season. Now if a couch could sin 7 games they would be the "greatest coach ever".

Another thing to mention looking all the way back at the CU game. We COMPLETELY emotionally exhausted ourselves in order to come out and play like we did against CU for ONE half. So basically, we saw what it looks like when Nebraska actually plays with some heart. They went balls out and completely exhausted themselves. What this tells me is that the effort from this team on a consistent basis is absolute crap. If they were playing with consistent effort EVERY single game. EVERY time they step on the field. They wouldn't be so exhausted just for doing it for one half of a freaking football game. This team doesn't know what it means to be all in every single day. They have no idea what it means to work hard every single day. if they knew how, they would have showed up for 4 quarters of a football game AT LEAST F-ING ONCE this season. Guess what they haven't done one single time this season. PLAY 4 QUARTERS OF HARD NOSED FOOTBALL. This guy's are so pampered and lazy, they thing showing up for half a football game is good enough. I'm not making excuses anymore. I'm calling it like I see it.

This team is soft. It starts with the coach. Curt Cignetti said when he was interviewed that they "broke our will". That is something I can't see Matt Rhule doing. We pussy foot around like we're afraid of hurting the other team's feelings. Look back at the Colorado game, we felt SO good going into half. Then we came out second half and did exactly NOTHING. We didn't put the game away, we didn't step on CU's throat. We tucked them into bed with hot milk. Of course we made excuses about why we had such a lackluster performance in the second half. "Well they were completely in control, CU was completely out of the game, no chance." But it's pretty obvious that all those concerns that we glossed over and made excuses for... well now we can see that those concerns were VERY real and we were STUPID to make excuses for this team every single week.

I agree with Geoff, the defensive statistics have looked way better than the defense has actually looked on the field. Serious reasons for concern in most every game on that side of the ball.

Fidone trucked that same guy he missed the block on into the endzone the next play.

Still plenty to play for this year. Win seven games. Get a good bowl game. Happy Days here again. Get over it. We've had worse. We've got a good coach. We got a good quarterback. GBR 🌽🏈☠️❤

Get to 6-3 heading into USC, Wisconsin and Iowa and we still have plenty to play for. Either learn from this or it defines you. GBR for LIFE!

How the team responds in the next few weeks will define the season. It's ugly, but we've got to flush it and move on.

I still believe Matt Rhule is a solid coach. We got our asses kicked, this has been our world for more than a decade now. Its changing, though, possibly. Give the 5 star QB time to grow, the defense has been great most of the year. Its at the very least, good. All hope is not lost, fuck everything, Go Big Red.

IU fan here. Good luck in Saturday's game! I think you will be shocked how good IU is. Rourke has been amazing at quarterback. He is a 5th year that can make every throw and just doesn't make mistakes. The receivers are great as a group and they not only catch but block really well. So you might shut down the run inside the tackles but IU will get yards outside the ends. Former Wisconsin line coach Bob Bostad has 2 former Badgers on the line and they compliment what IU already had. The defensive line has undersized athletes that attack every play. They can be susceptible to the run. And the defensive backfield is thin. But we don't see a freshman quarterback, no matter how talented, beating them at home. Cignetti has the team playing very hard, very fast, yet always in control. Former IU teams found ways to lose. This team wins the turnover battle, wins special teams, wins on the line of scrimmage and wins the 4th quarter. Nebraska would need to force IU into uncharacteristic turnovers and play mistake free to win. Tall task on the road.

The Indiana is a game where NU needs to pound the rock and eat click. Beat that Indiana D-Line into submission, and win this game 28-17... ....but we all know that is not going to happen with Satterfailed calling plays. 😐

If we are being honest, the defense got bailed out by that dropped touchdown pass against Rutgers. I believe that if Rutgers catches that, we lose the game.

As a young common fan, I saw Pat Fisher, who sadly died yesterday, play for NU in the late 50's. At 5'9" and 170 lbs he played 17 years in the NFL. He was a truly versatile and gifted athlete and Husker all-star. GBR!

All the issues are correctable. The major issue is long snapper. The snaps arent accurate or on time and its messing everything up. Fix that it all gets better. They wont fire Foley this year

Look, I’m in agreement with Geoff, enough is enough, fire ed foley now. The Special Team is not improving with his involvement, I see no “upside”, Triston Avlano is not hurt he’s mentally incapable of kicking with a crowd present, the other kickers wouldn’t start on a d2 team. We have one of the worst specialties in the nation where we have to resort to trickery just to move the ball.

Are usually enjoy your podcast, but you spent the first 10 minutes talking about weddings and not the game. So I turned out.

Enjoy the ride is good advice. The team has serious flaws and clearly has a ceiling, but it can be fun finding a way to win by any means necessary each week.

For me personally, the reason it’s hard to get excited about the W is because special teams do not seem to be improving. I still have no confidence in our ability to hit a FG, and that is just unforgivable.

It's always a street fight against Rutgers. Gritty is pretty.

Best start since 2016. Learning how to win again. One win from bowl eligibility. The trajectory is in the right direction. Everyone take a deep breath during the bye week and enjoy it!

Believe it or not one can't have a leader who can't look over the top of a garbage can ... Fact.. The mayor of Munchkin Land would never work..

In regards to the flags, I wasn't alive in the 80s, so that comparison doesn't really work for me. But there are way more flags and more egregious calls than there were 10 years ago. And 10 years ago (2014) games were still in HD. Every game was on TV. There was still social media. There was still pretty much everything in place that there is today. I don't buy the "increased public scrutiny" argument at all. Officiating has gotten significantly worse in the last year or so. Period. It's directly affecting my enjoyment of games. It's gotten to the point to where I can't even enjoy big plays or scoring plays anymore because I assume there's going to be a flag. I don't really, truly celebrate plays until about 30 seconds after they happen. How the hell is someone supposed to enjoy a game like that? If that's not the most damning indictment on the current state of officiating, I don't know what is.
