เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 12 ก.พ. 2019
We are North Georgia GMRS Network, a family communications network in Georgia. We're proud to operate the largest linked GMRS repeater network in the United States, with nearly two dozen commercial-grade repeaters covering more than 41,000 square miles of RF coverage, with additional VoIP linked access on Zello. Our network was started in 2007 and currently has more than 1,200 members throughout Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, the Carolinas, and beyond.

Is NGGMRS still linked in violation of FCC directives and general courtesy and good stewardship of available frequency resources?
I just purchased this for my wife and I. I know you haven’t been able to do a full review but could I get a couple quick thoughts from you so far? I’m new to this arena and would appreciate your feedback!

In simple terms, it's not who doesn't hear you, it's who you don't hear. Get an SDR dongle and install gqrx, then you can tune into a GMRS frequency and transmit on that channel with a tone set. You'll be able to hear the tone in gqrx (which doesn't filter it out).
I can't get mine in pc mode
Why am I not hear nothing tonight on the radio in Zebulon Georgia
I just like listening to yalls smart people radio talk all day 😂
JUST GOT THE NEW D878UV2 PLUS TODAY, CAME WITH 3.03 FIRMWARE INSTALLED, WE ARE TRYING TO GET THE GMRS FREQ. TO WORK WITH THE RADIO BUT IT WONT. WE HAVE THE CODE PLUG 3.04 FIRM SO WE UPDATED THE RADIO FIRMWARE TO 3.04 VERS. TRIED IT COMM. EURO MODEL 00000 IT COME UP BAND ERROR WHEN WE TRY TO WRITE TO RADIO, CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE??
Did you get the radio from bridgecom?

Didn’t take long for the sad hand to chime in!
Rf linked is different over microwave
You can't have your gmrs repeaters linked to zello per fcc rules. Many systems have been closed down because of internet linked gmrs systems.
Can you setup radio to add gmrs functions to radio that also has HAM DMR repeaters working?
Yes this is possible. If your radio is not currently in the mode shown in the video. You will have to switch it to the mode shown. Once this is done you will be able to do GMRS and Amateur. BUT when you switch modes in the radio you will loose any and all channels programmed into the radio before the switch. So whatever is in the radio now you will have to re enter that data after switching modes, in addition to your GMRS channels
I'm curious. What frequency is the repeater on? I'm in the North Georgia area and I'm looking for a repeater to talk on. WSFM801
More information about the network, and repeater info can be found at nggmrs.org.
Hey there! I just made a Tx check on the flagship repeater to ensure it was clear. I have been monitoring for a few months, but am ready to join and use. I’m ’pretty good’ with programming the radios, but gmrs is relatively new to me. When I join, is there a resource that would allow me sit down and ask some questions about the hardware (mine) and some of the programming intricacies, etc..? Additionally, I’ve been REALLY wanting to join asap, but I know membership is 1-12mos. Does that mean if I sign up in November, I’ll have to renew in January? Thanks! WSEY654
I run CB & GMRS in my truck and at the house. I do have an old Radio Shack scanner, but all of the law enforcement and fire departments are using the 800 trunking system and encryption.
This is an AMAZING repeater but this video makes me even more grateful (and nervous)! Thank you to the NGGMRS teams that keep us talking!!! Atl374
Wish you guys reached to the Upstate of South Carolina!
Appreciate the video. Are you able to program anything into the radio after you set it up with the CPS?
I run my generator once a month for an hour. Letting em set for long periods time, is the worst thing for a generator . To prevent it from being stolen when I lived in Florida, I kept it chained to a hitching post I had set in concrete. I use my camp stove for cooking.
Am I the only one that thinks it’s ridiculous to have to run software on the computer to unlock a brand new radio just to see the version number??
Do you have a code plug for GMRS default frequencies for download?
No more internet linked repeaters.
Tolles Video!! Als Neubesitzer von D578 mit BT-01 habe ich viel gelernt!! Meinen Dank, Jeff! 🙂
Can you use the Anytone 578 for GMRS as well?
Same question
Gmrs is a tool y'all are trying to make it amateur radio can't be linked to ANY !!! Network , like the zello Network
So I have a question… if the handhelds can be made GMRS capable, can the Anytone AT D578 UV iii plus be made GMRS capable as well?
In the 578 series the PRO is the only one that carries the part 90 certification making it legal for GMRS use. The plus model is not certified by the fcc for this use. Therefore making it amateur only on the plus model.
Makes a lot of sense, I just realized that Mario updated his favorite way to tackle ED and it's crazy! Although what he previously talked about was pretty decent, it was difficult to follow, I just go'ogled the latest by Mario Volpstein, it's so much simpler and potent now!

Totally cool!
I run my bt101 with the cable tho
I absolutely love mine and my 878s
I just wish this radio had a detachable head for remote installations, great radio, just not a lot of cab real estate available
We can’t view this video?
Ditto
First post?!
Julie you're wonderful thank you thank you for sharing this you're awesome😊❤
Love my NX-1300 HT. Awesome radio.
When will these be available for everyone not just commercial
You can buy them now. They are for sale at the Hobbitt communications website.
Are you going to address the new rules the FCC added to linked Repeaters? They added this to the FCC rules on the 14th.
Booyah!!
So proud to be part of NGGMRS. We use it as we travel to Gatlinburg
Hate I missed it guys. I was under the weather the last couple of days.
THANK YOU!, I just purchased ONE AT-578UViii Plus to try it out for a family project which requires 24 mobiles and 35 portables. The AnyTone is absolutely NOT Public Safety Grade, but seemed decent for private/personal use. BridgeCom has absolutely horrible instructions and videos on their site. I was formerly a Motorola & Hytera dealer. I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but they are BOTH easier to manage. I ended up just buying XPR7550e portables and XPR5550 mobiles (demo models from 2 dealers for approx $400@ after averaging it all out). It was worth it just to avoid the angry calls from my extended family around the NYC area. Wow. BridgeCom’s “solid” reputation just died a rapid death. The 878 was a bit better, but has a TON of glitchy issues. Sad.
If the US importer (BridgeCom seems to be the largest?) wants any chance of commercial sales, they’ll contact you and offer you any $$ you request. Just to create a decent video library of tech support topics. Thanks again!
Forgot to mention… It’s not the process. It’s the lack of easy to navigate support and software. Not only is Georgia (except for Fat-Ass Fanni and her election clowns) a FREE state and 2A state, it’s most definitely a 2-way tech knowledge state. :)
What happens if we set both CTCSS and DCS?
It’s a one or the other thing. What you program would depend on what the repeater requires to activate it. You cannot just pick a random one. The tone you program in has to match the repeater or the receiving radio if using a tone for simplex.
Thank you. I apologize. My ignorance is showing.
Why are my keys locked when I initially set it up
Without seeing your specific setup. My guess would be you forgot to uncheck the box for keypad lock. Sorry for the delay in response.
Hey! 1st! Great tip
Is there a designated emergency channel on gmrs?
There is nothing official. In the event of an emergency best to find one with known traffic to increase your odds of response.
