Episode 45: Rita Hayworth: 1930s Style, Part 1 @CRF-ds7ie
มุมมอง 5467 หลายเดือนก่อน
As a young starlet in the 1930s, Rita Hayworth spent much of her time in front of the studio photographers modeling both fashions of the day as well as her film costumes. Here is the first part of a series of photos from my collection of Rita modeling fashions from 1935-39 (a few from early 1940 may have snuck in here), some of which are from her films such as The Lone Wolf Spy Hunt and Only An...

In Episode 11 of my TH-cam channel, I shared photos of my visit to the home in which Rita Hayworth lived in 1942. It was a beautiful home, and in 2021, it was up for sale for the first time in decades. Unfortunately, this gorgeous storybook-style home was demolished and replaced. Not shocking but so sad! The home was exactly as it had been in 1942 and a stunning representation of storybook-styl...
Episode 43: Vera-Ellen: Did She Or Did She Not Try to Hide Her Neck? @CRF-ds7ie

As the decades since Vera-Ellen’s stardom have gone by, her spectacular dancing talent has sometimes fallen by the wayside as people speculate about whether she was trying to hide her thin neck in the wake of anorexia rumors. Did she wear high-necked clothing and elaborate chokers in an effort to conceal her neck? I will address the “neck rumors” in this video which features photographs of Vera...

Thank you for this AMAZING video! Amazing pictures. I enjoyed it so much!!
Thank you so much for watching it!
Nicely done. Very interesting.
Thank you so much for watching!
Charm completely lost, agree! Thats a sorry situation with a lot of redeveloped and new properties.
It really is. It was such a beautiful home, especially the backyard! Thanks so much for watching!
Edith Head was *_the_* best. That was fun to watch, thank you!
Thank you so much for watching!
Sharon had a apparition of a ghost in that home that showed her the death of her and her friend before it happened. That's incredible Isn't it..shame too She did not take heed to her dream
I have read that story before, but I’ve also read that it’s not true. I’m not sure what to believe! Thank you so much for watching!
I like your videos. I realy love AFFAIR IN TRINIDAD. It isn't as good as GILDA but i prefer AFFAIR. I don't like THE LOVES OF CARMEN
I’m so glad you like my videos! I think Trinidad is easier to understand than Gilda, but I like Gilda better. And I have to say, I do love Carmen! She’s just so alive and vibrant in that movie! Thanks so much for watching!
@@CRF-ds7ie Yes, TRINIDAD is easier to understand but GILDA is better. I love PAL JOEY and COVER GIRL. I'm portuguese and i wrote a chapter about TRINIDAD for a Rita Hayworth spanish book :) thank you for the kind comment
I saw your episode 11.What a beautiful house..It is a shame tearing down such s beautiful house..
I couldn’t agree more. Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!❤❤❤I have loved them my entire life. There will never be another Fred Astaire nor another Astaire & Rogers and we are all the worse for it. Thank God for film so that we can be forever elated by the sublime, unparalleled, effervescent, timeless brilliance that is Astaire & Rogers.
Amen!! Thank you so much for watching!
Is this a permanent display?
It is a permanent display, but it sometimes travels. I know that sounds like it doesn’t make sense but normally it’s there at the Rosemary Clooney Museum. You just want to call them before you go to make sure it’s there at the time you want to go visit. Thank you so much for watching!
James Dean was very talented. Actor artist etc.
She was so lovely. A great dancer and so very charming.
Im a Hayworth I just love and adore her! I would love to say we are related. Doubt it but she was so brilliant, beautiful n talented! When someone asks my last name I reply Hayworth like the actress Rita Hayworth lol. My name is Jennifer Hayworth. So cool
She was so beautiful!
I have to say there are many photos of Rita in her more natural look where she looks like Ingrid Bergman.
Thank you so much for watching!
👍
He did say in an interview
Thanks for clearing this up. He might’ve said that privately but we’ll never know
Thank you so much for watching!
❤
This was wonderful, thank you!
I love that movie. Watch each Christmas. Costumes even prettier in person
I'm always surprised where these clothes end up. So glad they made it back to KY.
Great to see that this place has been cleaned up some and the pool cleaned etc…Last few times I’ve seen footage of it there was junk all around and the pool was green with algae. Looks like someone is taking good care of it for a change. Sure wish we could see the inside! Thanks for showing this!
If you look up the address, 9820 Easton Dr., you can see the inside of the house on some of the realty websites. Thanks so much for watching!
when I go on google maps it looks totally different. They did not tear it down did they?!
I went on Google Maps to check as well, and I think the house you see is the carriage house. I’m not 100% sure, but there is definitely a carriage house down from the main house. I can’t remember the exact details, but that’s what I think we are seeing on Google street view. Thank you so much for watching!
Such a cool video! Love that movie!
Thank you so much for watching!
How sad that his family was not allowed to somehow remove the family crest (and perhaps the rose bush?) and relocate them. He was born in Deerfield, MI where my father was born and the family knew them. And my mom was born in Dundee, Mi where her family was good friends with Danny's aunt and Uncle and all their children. I remember going to visit them as a kid after they moved to VT. I was SURE that his cousin was kidding me--and that HE really was Danny Thomas! lol
That’s great that your family knew some of the Thomas family! I think they had a chance to take the family crest and didn’t. I’m not sure why, but I know the grandson had been there to visit before they demolished it and I’m sure he could have taken it or made an offer. But that’s just a guess. Thanks so much for watching!
I'm so jealous! A literal Then & Now presentation! So hard to find these gems with demolition and "upgraded" properties of the Hollywood greats.
Thank you so much for your nice comment. Unfortunately, if you look at episode 44, you will see that the house has been demolished. Just heartbreaking. Please note that, in the episode 44 video, I indicate that a new house was built on the property, but I was wrong. That’s just a rendering. My bad! As far as I know, nothing has yet been built on the property. Thanks again for watching!
I watch that movie every holiday season. Movies back then had style, class, talent, good music, great acting, a strong plot line, some suspense, and a satisfying ending. Today movies are just trash----representative of the sewer that's Hollywood.
It's a tradition for me too!
Thank you so much for watching!
@@CRF-ds7ie It's not the holidays unless I watch "White Christmas." Never gets old.

Oh, what a beautiful message and heartfelt comment. That means a lot to me! I’m so happy that you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for watching!
oh wow this randomly popped up onto my feed, i have had your photo book of rita for years and it is truly my absolute favorite. can only imagine the amount of work that went behind it, thank you! ❤
Oh, thank you so much for liking my book! That makes me very happy! And thanks so much for watching the video!
Does anyone know who designed the costumes? Columbia was very bad at giving costume designers screen credit. I have two guesses: Irene( most likely) or Kalloch.
Always been my top favourite Christmas film, that you can watch anytime and as many times as possible.
It’s the best! Thank you so much for watching!
White Christmas is my favorite holiday movie.
Mine, too! Thanks so much for watching!
Mine also!
White Christmas is my favorite movie. I also think that Edith Head was the best designer. Another of Edith’s designs that is my favorite is the black and white dress that you see Grace Kelly wear in Rear Window. Thank you for the video.
Yes, that is a stunning dress! Thanks so much for watching!
Stop calling genius Gene Kelly a "taskmaster." He was a consummate professional and Rita adored him and loved working with him and Phil Silvers, too. He also was her only leading man who was her match in looks and it's too bad that MGM would never loan him out again.
I do agree that Gene Kelly was a genius, and I would have loved to have seen them work together again! But he was a taskmaster! That’s not an insult, necessarily, in my book, so I’m sorry if I offended you. Thanks so much for watching my video!
Omg my favorite movie I watch every Christmas. I have some information on that incredible black dress Rosemary Clooney wore in that Love Didn’t Do Right By Me number. I had the privilege of talking to Debby Boone after a concert (She’s married to one of Rosemary’s sons) and I asked her where is the black dress from the movie? She said there was another daughter in law that got it but she is no longer part of their family so no one knows where it is now.
Oh that’s crazy! That’s so interesting. I hope the woman takes care of it!! Thanks so much for watching my video!
She seems made of plastica, really.
My favorite Christmas movie!!!
Thank you so much for watching!
You are pretty cute ❤
Thank you so much for watching!
SOCIALIST George Clooney aunt !
I loved Vera Ellen!! She was darling and so talented.
Thank you so much for watching!
I notice it takes several men to keep up with her in one movie.
That’s true!! Thank you so much for watching!
Fred Astair was far too much of a class act to have ever have said out loud or even write about who his favorite dance partner was. I just cant see this fine gentleman ever being so unkind as to insult others for no reason. However, as much as I like Gene Kelly, I can see him doing that. I could see Gene Kelly saying who his favorite dance partner was out loud.
I agree that Fred Astaire was way too classy to ever hurt anyone’s feelings! Thanks so much for watching!
She married her father?
Thank you for watching! I’m confused by your question, though. Who are you talking about?
@@CRF-ds7ie Jean Harlow's husband. But then she dated or married William Powell another old guy.
I love watching the old movies for the acting and the clothes. Just beautiful…❤
Yes, me too! I always love the wardrobe! Thanks so much for watching!
I’d love to see these. It was only a couple years ago I saw White Christmas on the big screen. I had never been able to see the detail before. So of course I googled and saw everything was by Edith Head which of course explains everything ♥️ Fantom events is offering it again this winter and I’ll be there again ♥️
It’s a fantastic movie to see on the big screen! Thanks so much for watching my video!
This is such a delight to see. Thank you! The black dress that Rosemary wore has always been my favorite dress in any movie I’ve ever seen. It’s stunning. Wonder where it is?
I loved this exhibition thankyou I’ve loved and watched this film many times one of my favourites old fashioned romance thankyou ❤️😊
Thank you so much for watching!
My favorite movie of all time. 😅❤
My favorite costume was the black sparkle dress Rosemary wore
Rita Hayworth was Fred Astaire’s most talented and above all his favorite dance partner.
