I have a GSX-8S, I've had a lot bikes including a Tuono, Ninja 1000, Duke 890, etc etc. For a beginner to have this as a first bike is sooo fortunate. The only issue is I can imagine is you'll probably feel like you need more, and then it'll take a few bikes and a pile of speeding tickets to realise you never really did. Excellent bike, and all anyone needs on the roads. I have a sweet Arrow full system on it and a Nitron shock coming, it's all it needs to make it a 15 year bike that can cover daily stuff and mountain road fun. That Arrow pipe makes it snarl like a worked V8. FWIW, I always found screens even proper ones like on the NInja 1000SX just direct a really strong beam of wind into the helmet. That means buffeting and even worse NOISE. The exception being when tucked in under the screen like chest on the tank - i.e. at track days. I'd rather just ride it naked and get some wind all over.
Hell is much worse than this. Good show son!!
That's crazy
bro whats crazy i am looking for a similar game too, i came across urs thinking it was the game its not, the one im looking for is similar in gameplay and function mostly except u have different types of dragons like ice dragon fire crystal dragon but i think u actually play as a sorcerer or mage type character but its a lil older than this one so not quite the same travel system, its crazy cause i was only 9 or 10 years old been looking for that game for ages im 33 now. but if i ever find it again ll know it. it was really good, kinda like a mix between that game with the dragons but u click on the next point on the map to go to and then u and your party walk along and u may get ambushed or meet a wild dragon or enemy mage. its very cool game imay have to check this one out thos its a lil better graphics and movement looks neat.
Haha yeah man, I've been trying to find dragon based games. They are hard to find for whatever reason. I'd like to see some more dragon riding games made.
It's gonna be interesting
Tesla drivers eat snickers upside down so they can feel the veiny texture on their tongue. Tesla TH-camrs like to move the snickers back and forth while doing so.
Is this a parody? The 'robots' were remotly motion controlled and voice controlled by real humans.
The most pointless waste of space on youtube Also, this robot that is nowhere near as advanced as a Roomba vacuum cleaner is a threat. Lol I more advanced robots have been around for 20yrs... Long before even Ai
The first step to the extinction of humanity! No joke, cool!!!
It sure seems that way lol
@wayhaykid If that happens I'm going to live in the woods like a hermit! ahaha
hey, musician and gamer here, I feel like I'm really starting to go in some direction after pretty much 10 years of dealing with depression and other stuff. I've learnt to appreciate the value of my time, life is short, I've talked about the last 10 years but they've gone lightning fast when compared to the 10 years before that (I'm 34). Keep us updated on how it's going.
So true man, it's hard to keep going without some sort of purpose. We all have one, and sometimes we've been doing our purpose without even knowing it! Thanks for reaching out! Let's keep moving
Best video you have ever made. Mom and I see huge maturity taking place in your life. Keep charging!
Thank you. I do appreciate it.
I know that guy!
Oh wait! I know that guy too!
Very helpful!
Hey! I'm glad I could help a little :)
It looks cool af, but it sounds like a scooter.
Dont expect it to sound good in this day and age with all its restrictions . Just get an aftermarket exhaust and a tune.
Damn, I wanted a bike that could throw me 300 feet into a house 😢
Hahahahahaha I want that some days
Great review, Mr. Grohl. Looking to buy my 15 year old daughter a street bike and was looking at this because of the rider aids.
Hahaha thanks man. I do think the modes would help for sure. The bike is fast enough to where she won't grow out of it for a while.
What skin
You crap
Love my 24 8S. Tell me you’ve done the airbox mod. Stage one takes 10 mins and makes a giant difference. 😊
If you do the pipe and leave the airbox stock it doesn't need a remap. Good reason to leave the airbox alone, for me anyway.
sorry but no guy should be using that reference as the girl used.. Sounds so wrong when you know the meaning behind it
❤😅
When you know what should happen.... and the crappy controls don't let it.
My egg won't hatch no matter how many times I play
So close, yet so far 😂
Very good review. I also thought about getting a windscreen like this for the 8S
Thank you! It's not perfect but it's great for doing what it's supposed to. Just add a little baffle at highway speeds :)
Break in miles, oil change, and 2wheeldynoworks ECU flash will have that quickshifter working like butter....everywhere. Side effect is 88 hp 62 ft-lb at the wheel (with installed stuff).
Thank you for that. I want to go that direction, just wasn't sure what tune to go. TST had a program, but I will look into your recommendations. Again, thank you!
@@wayhaykid Another suggestion is Vcyclenut. He's got great experience in tuning, has worked with this model extensively.
Ride 5 has been out for some time, much better feeling game. Also ride is not meant to be realistic, Its the forza of bike games. MotoGP 24 is better on the realism side but still arcade like because you have to use controller, there are plenty of games like gp bikes that try to be simulators but i don't like them. As a rider i find these games very enjoyable, not because they are realistic but because i just like bikes and games like this allow me to fuck around with bikes on track without having to spend $1000 on a track day, tires, brakes, transport etc.
You make a very good point. I should try moto gp next
Motorcycle games have really never translated well to games. You're missing so much of the physical experience, the typical feedback you rely on really riding a bike is just missing. And that's not even getting into body positioning being completely missing too. I think a decent experience could be made with a fake bike with controls and articulated on suspension with VR, but outside of that, most motorcycle racing games just feel like the input is delayed and disconnected. Oddly, I found Project Gotham Racing 3 to have some of the best "feel" of motorcycles in a video game.
Yes, and to get that feel, you might as well spend a bit more money and buy a real bike than go nuts with Sim tech
@@wayhaykid Yep, to get a decent sim setup would probably be at least $5-10k. Plenty of bikes you can buy for that money or less. Only thing for those of us with winters is we can't really ride half of the year and track season is often only May to September (only 4 months). Might be nice having a Sim setup in those months, lol.
@8Rider6 haha well if I magically fall in a pit of money, I will have a basement full of simulators for sure. Reach out my car window and grab some popcorn lmao
i want to like this game, but i dislike it because ive been riding for 12 years. got 23k miles on my 2019 rebel 500. theres just not a good way to translate riding into games, and that sucks
I could not agree more. I was just talking to my friend about how games or videos can never capture speed as well as we would like. I will say, the full simulators for car based games get a lot closer.
Yep, only thing I think could come close is a fake motorcycle with controls and on hydraulics to articulate momentum and leaning and allow for body position changes along with a VR headset. Aside from that everything just feels delayed, disconnected and sloppy with a controller.
What was with constantly readjusting lines mid corner and uhh that.. "throttle control"
I honestly had a hard time adjusting anything with a keyboard click, so I connected the controller on the last test of the video and was waaaay smoother.
@@wayhaykid hell ya brother!! Keep up the good work
@binlagin thanks for everything man! Might have to try Ride 5 next and see if I can get that down better.
Looks awful 😂
It totally does. I wish i had tried the latest one, Ride 5, but I couldn't bring myself to spend $60 for it. Maybe when it goes on sale
Good looking bike and a great review. The windshield does make a difference. I found with mine if I pre load the quickshifter a second before I change up or down, it changes even smoother. Lots of accessories are becoming available for it, too.
Thanks! That means a lot! That's a pretty good idea to pre load it. I think I may have accidentally done that before because sometimes it does actually hit 2nd and 3rd smooth, but it was very rare lol. That makes a lot of sense though. There are so many things I want to add to the bike and it's gonna be fun every step of the way. Have you decided on any performance upgrades?
@wayhaykid The akrapovic exhaust is well worth thinking about. It's a bit pricy but made a big difference in the sound and looks. Also, there is a small rear mud guard that sits close to the wheel and helps prevent water and crap from the road on a wet day, splashing up your back. There are also bar risers that help with the posture of the bike. Oh, and bar end mirrors that look cool as well.
@lost-again oh man, I was actually aiming for that exhaust. It sounded so good and was actually cheaper than the Arrow. Only thing keeping me waiting a bit was that I'd like to have the ecu tuned as well. Those mirrors are a good idea and do add a sleek look to the bike.
Every lap not lab!
You’re getting better every lab. Good shows son.
Thanks dad! It's harder than real riding for sure
You had no chance he made up his mind
Hah no changing their mind
Good video! I was wondering if you've felt the throttle to be forgiving, especially in mode A, to input mistakes or feel like the bike just wants to flip? I haven't ridden it yet but very interested! Thanks!
Hey, thank you! I find it very forgiving and have only had the front wheel off the ground once, just to see where it jumps. I will say that I have never lifted the front tire while naturally accelerating in 2nd through 6th. You can wheelie on it. But only if you want it to. Very tame beast hehe. It's nothing like a 4 cylinder high rpm 600. Very low end torque and flattens out after 8k
I think he won
Yeah, I lost from the start lol
Didn't notice that windscreen initially, other than the obvious main functionality I feel it adds a lot to enhance the look, specially on an all black bike, so much better than the usual blue. Does that affect your night vision at all?
Nope! Even leaned completely forward, it doesn't ever get in the way of my vision. You can always get it in lighter variants as well as clear
If I had only watched this video, I would’ve never bought me a Harley hog. Way to go Wayhay.
Hah well whatever makes you happy!
WayHay’s new era as a motorcycle daddy???
Yeah baby yeah! I'm a daddy now! They grow up fast. Pretty much instantly hahaha
As you said in the beginning all that matters is that it exceeded or met your expectations and that you look awesome riding it
Yes sir! I appreciate ya as always
I have a Suzuki DR650. I’ll never need too nor will I ever buy another bike well besides another DR650. Sure there are bikes that are way faster, way smoother, better handling and better technology but idk I have 20,000 miles on my 2019 DR been up and down the east coast. Rode the Cali and parts of the Nevada BDR, Death Valley, Mojave desert, Grand Canyon. Ol’ gurl has never broke down or gave me one single issue and I mean NOT ONE!!.
That's very impressive! I was hesitant at first buying a Suzuki, but then heard nothing but amazing stories like this!
Motorcycles are still barely getting antilock breaks, digital speedometers, disk breaks, fuel injectors... there are still bikes that are new with carbs, drums, incandescent lights, and so on, except they have to give up power to meet emissions standards. Games are just "go here, collect thing and so on." And then companies that were known for pushing boundaries aren't even trying aymore. Even Rockstar is like "we better censor our stuff." It is quite similar.
I agree. Times are changing and I don't think it's something only one generation is happy about. Fingers crossed for the pot of gold at the end of the wacky rainbow
I absolutely despise the electronic and EPA bullshit they shove into our vehicles. We need mechanics dedicated to ripping that garbage out of our machines.
Nice bike! Did you get it right after MSF? Going to do MSF this coming weekend and been searching bikes and such. Against all recommendations I “think” what I really want is something like this. I’m in my thirties and know I can control the urges specially with that Mode C as a safeguard. How has it been for you as a first bike so far? Just feels it’d keep me happy for longer and would have enough buffer if I need to overtake on the highway compared to the 400cc stuff that usually gets recommended. I mean MT 07 is really close to this power wise yet somehow it is deemed ok for a beginner but not rhis one even though MT 07 doesn’t have riding modes or traction control. What do you think? This is the only video of a gsx 8s as first bike I found on TH-cam, and I’ve been searching all over!
Oh man! I've actually got a review on the bike coming out tomorrow (5/13)! I took and passed the MSF about a month after I got the bike. I think it's a might fine bike. I've put 2500 miles on it and have really no complaints. It's very manageable in C, and you can work your way up to A instead of buying a slower bike. I will have way more to say about it in my video. I'm sorry I didn't see this comment until 6 days later lol
@@wayhaykid nice perfect timing! Sounds great looking forward to it
@samita137 I'm also in my 30's and I'm glad I didn't get a bike in my 20's. I've gotten way more experience on the road in general and I'm a lot less wild lol.
@samita137 got that review out now by the way 😊
@@wayhaykid thanks!
You did a good job on that meat. Be careful using metal utensils in that frying pan. I’m coming over to eat. I’m hungry.
Motorbikes are too damn expensive to register in New Zealand. And dirtbikes just keep doing the Bold New Colours thing. (Ok we did recently get fuel injection and backwards engines.) To me the injection make it feel less snappy than my carb bike, but admittedly is probably faster but smoother. Doesn't matter at the end of the day, teenagers still kick my ass on either.
Hah I feel ya. I'm almost 37 and I'm getting rocked by teens on games as well.
