Our Mija is one of the most amazing human beings that we have ever come across at Knowledge Boxing. Her work ethic, character, intelligence, integrity, and can do spirit makes her an amazing leader in any organization. Just like she said in the interview, Phyllis started out at Knowledge Boxing this quiet, steadfast worker who would always do her best with whatever task we gave her. Her can do attitude was infectious throughout the gym. And while she may have been small in size, her resolve and determination was just as big as any of the male boxers we had in the gym. And once we finally caught on to how great of a listener she was, it was all up from there. She lost about 15 lbs and in a 2-year time period, she was an undefeated two-time Golden Glove Champion. To be exact, she was the two-time Regional Golden Glove Champion which means she was the best female boxer in her weight class in Washington DC, the whole state of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and North Carolina, which is an amazing feat. Mija represents a lot of firsts at Knowledge Boxing. She is our first female boxer, first local Golden Glove Champion (male or female), first boxer to compete out of state, and our first Regional Golden Glove Champion (male or female). She has a champion mindset, a warrior spirit and is an asset to any organization she supports, so its of no surprise that she is the #1 recruiter for the whole Coast Guard!!!!! We are blessed to have had her at Knowledge Boxing in Southern MD, are super proud of her and look forward to cheering her on when she graduates from OCS!!! She is a super boxer, super cook, super recruiter, super daughter, super sister and will be a SUPER Officer for the Coast Guard!!!!!! Vamos Campeona!!!!!!!
