Evelyn Falls fly-through
มุมมอง 1710 หลายเดือนก่อน
There is no track to Evelyn Falls in north Queensland. A compass or gps is handy to find your way there. It's a couple of hours walk through nice eucalypt and cypress forests and mostly fairly level until the steep drop into the creek. Lots of potential to explore and swim.

Happy Birthday to Me(sa)

A small collection of videos I recorded on the occasion of my 66th Birthday while I was travelling through Diamantina Lakes Nat Park in south-west Queensland. I was quite enamoured with the concept of Mesas - flat-topped hills just sitting out there waiting to be photographed and climbed. A particular cluster attracted me and I visited them a few times culminating in my “great idea”. I was cele...

Three days with the family on the glorious Mitchell River in North Queensland. Back to the Mitchell River at Hurricane Station for a family camp and this time for a couple of nights so more relaxed and got a bit of time to take some nice images. The river was surprisingly high and fast flowing for this time of the year so the kayak and inflatables came in handy again though the water was still ...

      Thanks Barry. I, probably like you, have been plugging away for years collecting video that I've not been too sure what to do with. Over the next few months hope to do a few little compilations like this.

    Wow that’s beautiful mate..! My cousin Duncan brought this to my attention… from over here in Blighty, it all looks so alien ..! I have had the chance to visit Chillagoe briefly but this really brings it to life including the underground..!

    Thank you for your presentation Paul, it gives me the urge to revisit Chillagoe, to sojourn, rather than pass-through. I was especially impressed with your drone shots of the limestone and tried to imagine ancient fish swimming between the columns. Thanks once again Paul.

    Hi Paul just found this video and so glad I did it’s a very special place I’m from Innisfail so been through there a few times then came cyclone Yasi I thought that’s the end of that track a year later I went up to have a look You could only drive to the first bridge there were motorbike tracks to the second bridge that was as far as you could go I went back each weekend for two months cutting through to the hut I didn’t want this track to be lost forever Watching you guys using the track and exploring the river is the reason I opened it back up Cheers Mick from Innisfail 👍😎

      Thanks for your efforts. I wasn't expecting the road to be open. Some friends went down there last week and said they could still drive to the shack on the Tully. The road beyond the Tully crossing is completely overgrown.

    This is exactly what I wanted to see. Where was that guy approximately? Is there much of the old Culpa town left that you saw?

    • @paulofthenauth
      @paulofthenauth 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lawrence, glad you liked it. It was one of the most interesting things I've done over recent years. Nothing left of old mining areas. I have had a look around as I think I know approximately where they were but nothing. Which guy/picture were you referring to?

    • @mbb6740
      @mbb6740 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paul Curtis oh cool. I live in Tully so it’s my backyard. That was meant to say Hut

    • @paulofthenauth
      @paulofthenauth 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mbb6740 The hut is at the end of the road where the old, big bridge is on the Tully River. I think it was a forestry hut and I am surprised it is still standing. The road beyond the bridge which used to come out at Kirrama is pretty much gone. The road into the hut won't last much longer unless someone spends money on the road and bridges - which is unlikely.

    • @paulofthenauth
      @paulofthenauth 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mbb6740 No, this area is only accessible from the Ravenshoe/Koombooloomba area. This is the upper Tully river above the dam as per the video.
