My husband just got transferred to clayton-we are from Long Island. Im so nervous to leave my home, friends, and family! By reading all these posts I am REALLY nervous now! I have 3 children-10yrs. old- 15yrs.-and 18yrs. Please someone out there tell me something positive about coming down to NC!
+Linda Ropell This is the most boring town I've lived in. My mother moved us here (we are also originally from NYC, Queens to be exact) and I got into a lot of trouble in this small town. I almost got beaten to death, I caught a marijuana charge, I was bullied in the local high school, and going through problems at home with my brothers and mom. Even my father when he visited, I hated my life and wanted to die. I know you have lived here for awhile but please go back to NY. This place is not for Northerners, or move to Raleigh, NC. I moved out of there.
Im not dissapointed at all it is a great place 2 live i moved here 2 months ago and im not dissapointed at all i live by the Clayton Post office and im literally 19 min from walmart, 7 min from a super market, 20 min from schools etc evry thing is very close and nice
Clayton is a wonderful place-- though I tend to agree with the younger generation. There is NOT enough for young people to do in downtown. We need downtown to be a place where people wander from business to business- hanging out! Mannings will be another food/bar choice which should help, IMO. DPM Studios has Friday night dance parties in ballroom/swing/latin dancing which draws a younger generation. We need to continue to promote different, unique and NEW things! We can do it!
Oh you silly kids... Clayton is a great place to live. What a hardship...you have to drive 15 minutes to the outlet mall or 15 minutes to White Oak for the movies. And Clayton High School is a much better high school than most! Be thankful for what you have!
Benson, a great little town. Excellent transport links, close to several large cities, good schools, Mule Days, a little theatre, library, wonderful friendly folks and so much more! How I miss the place, I used to live in North Wall Street, now in Colombia. Give my best regards to all Benson - a real Southern town, with real people! Peter
I think you've misunderstood what i said....Im not talking about clayton in "general" but DOWNTOWN clayton. Your pics make it look nice, but i would never want to live there......And O yeah!....About what you said about going outside the circle....Its hard to make 3 pointers on that goal, cause it freaking double rimed....It makes it VERRYYY aggravating and difficult.
lol no offence to your bussines, but the best part of downtown clayton is the basketball court! Its the last place you would really wanna live, if your choosing a house in clayton.

And for your 10 year old a great school is RiverWood Middle school its AWESOME!
