    Thanks for the tips. Here are a couple more. Buy a costo card or sams club or bjs to save at the pump! Also try not to use the ac in the morning time when its cooler. Of course this makes a difference at what time you leave in the mornings. Some areas can get real hot real quick. I have an LS400 and a Y33 Q45. Some of the great Japanese V8s. Thanks for the great tips! Rear differentials love Amsoil differential gear oil. Make sure you are performing your transmission drain fills every 60k. I recently drained 6 quarts out of my q45. I hear redline makes a great atf. Just make sure to get the right one for your application. Every quarter run a fuel system cleaner Or treat your car to a full tank of shell v power or Amaco or bp ULTIMATE.

Did you have car in just ignition switched on, without starting car itself or you had it started, in neutral position all the time ? And why you need to hook it up with a battery charger, if car is on ?? Thanks for video, it going to help a lot!

    Should have got an M35 06 and up, or M45. Those years from 2002 to 2005 were horrific for infiniti. All models except G35 had same sensor and misfire issues. My 2002 I35 was terrible. My 97 and 99 I30s were flawless, both my 06 and 08 M35s have been solid.

    Well, I Carfaxed my Q45 and found a few interesting things about the prior service records on. Oil changes were done religiously...every 4000 miles. The starter was replaced. Transmission was serviced meaning that the fluid was probably changed. Rear differential fluid was changed which I thought was kinda strange. That's not something that normally needs servicing. Mechanic must have seen him coming! Was ready to replace the inner and outer tie rods and then my mechanic discovered that my rack was leaking from 2 different locations. So now I'm waiting until he can order in a refurbished one before he does the rest. Entire engine bay is covered in plastic panels so the engine bay is really clean! No other leaks. Coolent was changed. Yes I inherited a couple of problems but I don't think the previous was aware of. The rack has a plastic box mounted under to catch any fluid leaking from it so without any warning signs such as steering difficulties when cold you have no way of knowing there's a problem. The new rotors and pads fixed the vibration issue because yes he had resurfaced the rotors and not replaced them. Anyhow this is a solid car that has actually been pretty well maintained. Guess I should be grateful as I didn't run a Carfax until after I bought it.

  • @oicu8124
    @oicu8124 ปีที่แล้ว

    BTW, trunk lid will stay up momentarily IF you fully open it and pay attention to it before it starts to close again! LOL!

  • @oicu8124

    I have a 2003 Q45...116000 miles. OMG...trunk struts! Hate 'em! Had my head slammed on a couple of times! Didn't know about that problem until that happened! Am replacing the inner and outer tie rod ends. But oddly enough haven't seen any (obvious)leaks. Rotors vibrate pretty badly from a higher speed stop. Suspect last owner resurfaced rotors and didn't replace them. Plenty of meat on pads but with the vibration I'm ordering new ones w/new ceramic pads from EBay. Also,always go with a K&N air filter! Better air flow and slightly more HP. I'll have my mechanic check for leaks while doing the tie rod ends and brakes then report back. Want to do a Carfax on this car and see how good the maintenance and upkeep was. I know it sat up for awhile as the nice Michilin tires were dry rotted! Had lots of tread left. Ashame. Original owner died and grandson finally got rid of it? Phenomenal car and tremendous ride!

    Do you have to use a torque wrench to ensure that the bolts are tightened to specifications? I have heard that if you over tighten the bolts, it can cause to brakes to not function properly, or end up causing damage to the vehicle. I have heard that the caliper bolts (smaller bolts) are 25 ft-lbs, and the caliper bracket mounting bolts (larger bolts) are 111 ft-lbs, Wheel lug nuts is 76 ft-lbs.

    So where are the jack stands? I didn't notice them. So who installed the oil filter cap at the last oil change? If it was put on at the specified torque it would have come off with no problem. The torque spec is 18 ft.lbs. ±3ft.lbs.

      @@autodidactic3570 Without a torque wrench just use the oil filter cap wrench and tighten it until it bottoms out. Then just a slight tug turning just a bit, but no more than ⅛ inch. You will need the oil filter cap wrench or the ½inch drive ratchet to do that even though 18 ft.lb. isn't much. Your bare hand won't do it unless one of your parents is a sasquatch. 😁 To me hand tight means without any wrench. Also changing the oil every 5,000 miles instead of 10,000 miles may help. An aluminum oil filter cap screwed onto an aluminum base results in some galling which can make it difficult to remove. I'm not assuming you are doing 10k oil changes but just in case.
