      Heyy I didn't have any days off, but if you wanted a day off that's perfectly fine you would just have to adapt your revision timetable for the other days of the week accordingly, it's all down to personal preference

      @MalohaCartonOfMilk alright thank you so much because i was thinking of taking Fridays off but i kinda like revising everyday even if it is an hour ( i do 2-3 on the weekdays, 4-5 on the weekends ) but i always see people saying that they had days off because they didn't want to "burn out"

      I only had one coursework subject, but I did find it quite overwhelming at times so my best piece of advice is to organise your coursework as much as you can, set deadlines for yourself ahead of official deadlines, and do lots of research beyond the lessons such as watching documentaries and the like

      Break it up as much as you can, everyone has differing attention spans its completely normal, so even if you do it like a 10 minute study session, and then a 5 minute break, then go for another 10 minutes that's still something. Try and incorporate 'fun revision' if you can such as watching French Tv shows for MFL or watching documentaries for History (but don't go overboard with this and make sure its actually helping you)

    for me, i feel like when i make revision resources (flashcards, mindmaps etc) i make them then just leave them and dont look at them, but instead i just do loads of practice questions online and past papers because it feels more approachable than going through a huge pile of flashcards. Do you think doing lots of practice questions and papers is just as beneficial as going through flashcards, or should i focus more on making physical resources like flashcards?

    • @MalohaCartonOfMilk
      @MalohaCartonOfMilk วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's all down to personal preference, doing past papers is still technically a form of active recall so you could say just as effective as flashcards and the like, as long as you do them consistently

You can use pre-made ones if you feel like you don't have time to make your own, but just be mindful of these three things: 1. They're up to date 2. They're accurate 3. They're for your exam board

    hii, i have 3 igcse exams to take in may/june 2025 (chemistry, math, and physics). my mocks are in march and its getting difficult to prepare by myself while also coping up with school's random tests. i get burned out really easily and i put unrealistic goals for myself , but i have no choice but to burn out myself because theres such less time left. i have no idea what to do because my basics are even screwed up, so what do i do??

    • @MalohaCartonOfMilk
      @MalohaCartonOfMilk 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The thing is when you burn yourself out, the time that you DO spend revising isn't going to be good quality. The stress hormones are also going to inhibit your cognitive functioning, which usually means poorer academic performance. This is why I always stress make a revision routine for yourself - there are 24 hours in each day, that's a lot of time! If you're strict with yourself, you can allocate at least 3 - 4 hours of your day for revision and still have loads of time for other stuff like living your life! On weekends, towards exam season I was studying for around 5-6 hours, but still had time to watch TV, spend time with friends and family, and do stuff that I wanted to do, because my dad was strict with me and made me compartmentalise my time

    • @MalohaCartonOfMilk
      @MalohaCartonOfMilk 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You shouldn't prioritise stuff based on grades, you prioritise based on your weaknesses. There wouldn't be any point in focusing on 7-9 topics if you're still struggling with lower grade topics, that's like putting icing and sprinkles on raw cake batter ygm

    • @MalohaCartonOfMilk

      I mean that rly does depend on the question style if i remember correctly. You will find that within your anthology most of the poems are linked in some way anyway because they all fall under an umbrella theme (power and conflict, love and relationships etc.) I wouldn't say you need to pair them but you can if you want to, just have a really solid understanding of each poem and comparison should come naturally (i highly recommend Mr Bruff and Mr Salles on YT)

(i am quite good at language as i’ve learned the structure so many times) but for english lit i don’t know where to start as i’ve never consistkey revised this

    • @MalohaCartonOfMilk
      @MalohaCartonOfMilk 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      For english literature the general structure that I used was really just PEEL (point, evidence, explain, link) and you wanna make sure that your 'explain' is bulky and filled with lots of ideas that link together and back to the question itself. In terms of quotes, make sure you're choosing ones you actually understand how to use so I wouldn't recommend using someone else's. You can make quote cards, where you choose 1-2 quotes from the play for each character and each key theme (there may be crossover), and you could ask your teacher or one of your friends or peers to help you with this

    Heyy tysm for your videos what is the best thing to do with exam papers after completing them

    • @MalohaCartonOfMilk
      @MalohaCartonOfMilk 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If it's a non-essay based paper like science or maths, mark it and make sure you understand it all. Anything you don't get even after reading the mark scheme and watching video solutions, make a note of it and ask your teacher to go through it with you after class. If there's any topics you've noticed you've consistently been scoring low on, make a note to go over those topics again. With essay-based subjects like English and History, marking is highly subjective so it's best to ask your teachers if they can mark them for you and give you feedback

      If note-taking helps you then go for it, but I made flashcards watching videos as if the flashcards were my notes - basically I did make notes but on my flashcard app instead of my notebook, that way I had a revision resource ready automatically so I wouldn't have to go back over the same topic all over again

      Hii, yes its definitely possible if you revise regularly from now onwards every day. I'd highly recommend CorbettMaths and Physics and Maths Tutor

      I would definitely recommend going on math genie and going through each topic , they are grouped into grade 1-9 , start from 1 and work your way while watching the videos and the questions .

    Hi, I’m in year 11 about to do my igcse’s very soon . The problem with me is that I always start studying till the very last minute or like a month away for all 7 of my igcse’s in fear that I will forget if I start any sooner. Is there any tips for this issue?

      Hii, if you're making flashcards as you revise and then practicing them all for at least 10-20 minutes every single day, I guarantee you won't forget everything

      The type of revision resource you're using and the type of revision technique may affect how long you're taking to revise. One of my tutees takes ages to make flashcards so we've decided it'd be better if she did blurting instead. She also used BBC Bitesize which took ages for her to get through, so now she uses freesciencelessons (which I'd recommend for you too as they're really short and concise). Just mix and match different resources and techniques until you find ones that maximise your revision time

    How did you make your flashcards for history? I end up with paragraphs and paragraphs on the back of mine and I just know I won’t be able to memorise it all. Do you recommend making them from the revision guide instead of the text book instead/do you have any other revision tips for history? Thank you :)

    • @MalohaCartonOfMilk
      @MalohaCartonOfMilk 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I had the same problem, I did my revision from the textbook and in class and I made my flashcards from revision guides as they were a lot more concise. You need to make sure you're doing loads of past papers as well under timed conditions, and also watch lots of documentaries to fully immerse yourself in the context

    What do you suggest i do? I have made all my notes for paper one science in like year 10 and the beginning of year 11 and im not sure what to do next as i dont remember some of the notes i made do i go over it again, read all of my notes or do past papers? Idk, and i dont like flashcards.. i have my first mock in 2 weeks

    • @MalohaCartonOfMilk
      @MalohaCartonOfMilk 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If your notes are comprehensive enough then you can read them and go straight to past papers, otherwise you may need to: 1) Go over each topic again 2) Take a 5-10 minute break 3) Come back and blurt everything you can remember 4) get a different coloured pen and fill in anything you missed out 5) finish with past paper practice

    Thank you so much! In terms of past papers, do you recommend doing the paper first and then marking it, or having the mark scheme and the paper side by side and refer to the mark scheme as I solve the paper?

    • @MalohaCartonOfMilk
      @MalohaCartonOfMilk 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'd definitely recommend doing the paper first as it forces you to remember things (active recall), and then you can use a different coloured pen and go back over it at the end using the mark scheme, helping to identify gaps
