Great explanation!
Glad it was helpful!
Nice
how about some engineer notebook projects with this.
i wasn't happy withn the MPS MCS1803 the current sensor just blew and popped. poor design

In 21:15, What role does the Dummy Cout play?
The MLCC layers are metallic, they act as E-field shield. In this case both sides are GND, so all layers are GND. In normal design, Cout is used for shielding the E-field radiation from the coil. 3x Cout, 1210 with 2.6mm thickness are good.
❤
At 1:39, two bridge rectifiers are shown with 8 diodes in total - shouldnt there be just 4?
8-diode is not only for 802.3.bt requirement, 802.3.at still need 8 diodes. PoE power can be conducted with Alt-A through 1/2/3/6 wire in cable, and it can also be conducted with Alt-B through 4/5/7/8 wire in cable. When you plug in a PD, you don’t know the supply is Alt-A or Alt-B so we must add diode-bridge for both Alt-A and Alt-B, total 8 diodes.
very clear and informative. thank you for a great explanation!

Hi, not sure I understood, is the LGA version socketed? For easier replacement than soldered parts?
MPC22163-130 LGA is not socketed. The device needs to be soldered down to achieve the target output current. MPS does not recommend socketing these parts as it eliminates the power density benefit of the device.
@@monolithicpowersystemsmps534 Ah, thanks. Still an interesting design.

Hello... Thanks for the video...Could you upload the session 2 as well? Although the content is same, the questions asked in Q&A session is different.
Hi, we only upload one recording per webinar. We decided session 1 had more questions in the Q&A portion.

Can you share the answer of the question about the possible spike on the ouput voltage when the load current drops to 0A? Also can you share the test setup to simulate and measure the stability?
I do not understand why you bother promoting this chip so much when at the same time you will not allow anyone to look at the datasheet of the chip. It's the first company I have come across where you need to get an account in order to view the datasheet, and upon obtaining an account, you are then told you need a special plus account. What's the big secret?
The audio has a terrible background noise. Did you ever listen to the audio? And you thought it was good?
Thank you for your feedback. We are working on making improvements to our audio in our live webinars.
Talks way to fast and too much music.
Hello engineer will you help me in designing flyback converter. Input 60v dc Output 15v DC, 2A Ferrite core EE25 Only one output. How to design ferrite transformer. It's primary and secondary number of turns. Hope you will reply soon. Thank you

nice )
13:36 the explanation wasn't super clear. What's the advantage to having a lower RDSon for the low-side mosfets as compared to the high-side mosfets?
The low side MOSFET in each H-bridge is one for a full half step, as current is flowing in one direction. Also, usually the duty cycle of the other side (which is switching with a PWM waveform) is around 50% or less. So averaged over a long time (like a whole step) the total amount of time that the low side FETs conduct is maybe twice the amount of time that the high side conducts. Making the low side lower rds(on) then generates less heat (again, averaged over time).
Thanks for the valuable information.I would like to know what is the use of LLC converter in DC DC converters for electric vehicles .

Nice video! But still a bit unclear on how this works in application. I am currently designing a charging module for a wearable based on the MP2722, which requires 5V at VSYS. Do I need a separate buck boost converter for this to work?

Pedaling overpriced snakeoil. Controlling an active PFC is painfully easy. It's so easy, it's an entry-level arduino project.

Great info. I came here by accident. What I’m actually looking for is what happens with the BEMF of the ACTIVE coil upon fall of supplied current? Where or how is the (expectable) reverse voltage handled? You explain very well what happens with the inactive coil when the permanent magnet moves close-by.

my lifesaver, thank you <3
Glad it helped!
This doesnt make any sense. So moving the components away from eachother reduces the thermal transfer between them and allows more of it in to the air for better cooling. If you have the entire boards worth of space though why not just put the components to opposite corners of the pcb if theres all that pcb space?
Hi, please see the link to the full video here: th-cam.com/video/ivg-_mpVzn4/w-d-xo.html
I do not need this stuff you are talking about, I need balance carrent ? How mouch current is this BMS capable ? 15 - 20 - 25 - 30 - 35 A Active balance current ? How precise is SOC ? After 6 month without synchronisation, what will be real and measured value of SOC ? Measured 72 % SOC and real after voltage chceck 5 % ? Because modern SOC meters have large error at current measuremet and after 6 x 30 x 24 hours of integration, error is so high, that SOC and SOH are only fabulations not real values and all this values you display are fake.
