I’ve been eyeing at either a kindle or a kobo for a while but I have an iPad Air (4th Gen) that I got for school (although I’m no longer in school) and I guess I’m just nervous I won’t use it as much as like my iPad or phone. I would like to get more into e-reading tho.

I bought the Kobo Clara Colour and ended up returning it because of the screen. The material was also weird to me, but was nice that it's lighter. I'm going to wait another month or so before I get the Libra Colour to see if Amazon releases new Kindles next month (which is the rumor).

I have owned a monochrome Kobo Libra H2O (1st Gen) for maybe two years and was looking at the color options as a potential upgrade, especially since I would love to use the pen to annotate books and do digital planning on the same device. I'm kind of holding out for a reasonably priced 8" screen and color, though, since my 7" Libra is still working well. Have you linked your library's ebook Overdrive library to your Kobo yet? One of the best features that make Kobo > Kindle for me is that you can browse your library's digital book collection directly on the Kobo and borrow right on the device instead of searching via Overdrive or Libby app on your phone and then sending the checked out title to Kindle. I also use Kobo's Pocket integration to read articles and web pages that I have saved to my Pocket account via the Pocket app on my phone and tablet. SUPER handy for saving game walk through, recipes, and craft patterns and pulling them up later on my Kobo to refer to.

I'm not sure what you did with your case or how you use it, but I've had my Kobo colour with the case since it was released and it's still looking new and I read on it every day. :/ Maybe you have a faulty case? Regardless of your use on your Kobo case, I subbed x)

the color is nice but i don't like kobo have had a few kobos but they don't have the eBook selection that amazon has and the quality of the kindle is so much more nicer than the kobo which is a cheap plastic back i will stick with the kindle for life

I’m also a kindle girlie, but I’ve been thinking about buying a kobo since I’m starting university soon, and don’t want to carry multiple kg’s of books with me. The kobo system sounds more convenient than Amazon, since I won’t be able to read my academic papers through kindle. How did you send your books wirelessly to your kobo?😊

The "dots" on the Kobo, is pretty much how you are able to free annotate on the screen. So I'm sure in future devices it will be less apparent

I don't think people understand how e-ink works. It will and should never be as bright as our smart devices. The purpose of e-ink is to be easy on the eyes. I think the coloration is perfect for e-ink. Obviously, we should strive for improvements, but this really set the bar high for their competitors

I love my kobo clara colour!! I actually like the dots as it gives a paperlike feel to me, and the reading experience is so good

What store did you buy it from? I didn't know Kobo's were sold at physical retailers.

It helps if you get a matte screen protector. Made world of difference

I’ve used Kobo for a few months now and yes, the best way of using it is without any case, just pop socket on. It’s soooooooooooooo light i’m rolling in my bed reading 😂

These "dots' is actually the color screen. Unfortunaly they are not so good. That's why I have 4 e-readers (two Kindle and two ONYX) but none of them has color. This e-ink color screens need to be improve much to tempt me.

I love the month later review. So helpful. I am waiting to my Kobo Libra Color to come in the mail. I had to buy the case separate instead of as an add on to get the yellow case, let's hope I like it. As I am in the US I am looking forward to reading free library books on the kobo ereader with Overdrive.

I love my kobo Colour. I hope in future updates they update the note taking. I hate that the pen isn’t white tho 😩 and I’m not a fan of the kobo books. I just download all my books from Kindle Unlimited.

I thought I would like the buttons but found out I really hated the bigger size and the buttons! I wish the clara came in white.

The lighter weight of the Kobo sounds like a plus, but the colors appear to be a bit muted (at least on my screen). I will stick with my Kindle PW Signature for now. If I get an e-reader that provides color, I want those colors to really pop. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
