    The thingys are. Big black thing is the main fuel filter. The silver round thing is the pump which draws fuel from the bottom through the strainer and out through the top. Dont forget the fat o-ring on the top with the plastic spacer either or the system will leak fuel internally and have low pressure and same symptoms as this video started with. The “silver thing” at the top of the main filter is the pressured regulator/relief which dumps back into the tank when the pressure reaches something over 35PSI I believe. Could be a little higher. This is important and should be replaced with the pump and main filter as the problem could be any one of the three. Do not just replace the pump. The positive leads are important as the heavy one goes to the fuel pump which then earths out via the frame. The light one goes to the fuel sender unit and if you mix these up then the pump will not receive enough current to perform under load and you will experience the same problems again. Could have diagnosed this by placing tee piece into the main injector rail feed hose and a long piece of hose with a pressure guage on the end. Zip tie it to the fairing and go for a ride. If it drops off or shows lower than required pressure then you have a problem with your pump, filter or regulator. And thats all I have to say about that. 🤣

    My fuel pump was bad, i replaced it with the one you bought and it worked intermittently. The wire connector that runs to the tank was bad. I would wiggle it and the pump would work sometimes and then not work.

    Congratulations you found a nice property. What is the total acreage? Maybe you could dig well since there's water down at the campground i used to live in rural San Diego similar terrain, but hot in the summer. Nearby power is a total bonus, but there is some really good solar system these days

    I live in Florida. How do you deal with extreme heat and humidity ?

    • @Campers_Anonymous
      @Campers_Anonymous 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s one of my biggest challenges. It’s been a process, but I’m slowly inching towards comfort. I started by insulating my camper shell with 394 mil closed cell sound deadening material (used for car hoods), then layered on reflectix/carpet. While it keeps the camper shell anywhere from 5 to 10 degrees cooler, I’m learning air flow is more important. I’ve got storage cubby’s in the bed of my truck which I plan to remove and install usb powered computer fans. One will be an inlet, the other acting as a vent drawing air out. (Located on opposing ends of the truck bed). This will ensure a constant exchange of air, keeping the camper cooler/ preventing the build up of condensation. I will mention that Cali is a dry heat, whereas Florida is more wet. It’s probably a whole different ballgame out there. I’d recommend steering clear from cotton bedding. While breathable, it retains a lot of moisture. Also, look into “container dri Desiccants”. If you’re unable to prevent the condensation the desiccant’s will at least draw it back out of the air thereby preventing mold. I had great success with them, although keep in mind they only last a couple weeks. But as a short answer to your question- that’s why I bought the roof top tent

    • @weareallamericans7358
      @weareallamericans7358 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Campers_Anonymous thanks for such a thorough response. You are right about the humidity making things even more difficult. I'm also exploring alternatives to idling the car to have air conditioning. I'm currently in a 2015 Toyota sienna, but I'm also considering trading up to a hybrid Sienna which has awesome climate control options!

  • @cbrannaka
    @cbrannaka 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Why a roof top tent if you sleep in the camper shell?

    • @Campers_Anonymous
      @Campers_Anonymous 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Camper shell can get upwards of 90 degrees during the summer months. Wanted a cool place to sleep, while having the opportunity for more storage on longer trips. When I go dirt biking or fishing, I’ll pull the bed out of the camper and stuff it with gear. I pay $100/month for a 10x10 storage unit, where I keep all of my toys.

    Dude that is awesome. One of the best most fair dinkum van life video's I've seen. Seriously, the way you presented your financials and the benefits is just really excellent and could be the inspiration for many. I hope you never have to use that gun man because in those situations and after those situations there are just so many variables that are out of your direct control. The gun case kitchen is brilliant, definitely never seen that before....top stuff. Also this is very scale-able for folks with low income jobs.....a MacDonald's worker earning 2K a month could still put away 1K a month (or more). They could be living out of a thousand dollar car and after 6 months could have a 3K emergency fund and another 3K to upgrade the vehicle. A couple of years of effort and they could be getting close to where you started and also their 2K/ month job may have progressed to 3K/month.. I felt this deserved a decent comment because it is a great video....good luck with your channel.

    Asome bike man ! Habinh the same issue bro soo how did it run with tje new fuel pump ?

    • @Campers_Anonymous
      @Campers_Anonymous ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately not.. couple things you can check: 1) idle screw 2) air filter 3) spark plugs (check compression while you're in there) 4) ignition coils 5) fuel pump 6) Vacuum hoses 7) air pocket in coolant (google Honda hunting idle) 8) iat sensor 9) map sensor 10) IACV valve 11) clogged fuel injectors 12) carbon build up on throttle bodies I'm starting to look into what changes at operating temp. So far, I know valve clearance can affect atf ratio, and I'm reading the idle screw is hooked up to a wax unit which can go bad. I'll put out another video chasing this problem. So far "honda hunting idle" has been the best Google resource. It's common across all their vehicles, not just motorcycles. Since this is an inline 4 engine, im hoping to find a thread somewhere out there. If I do, I'll share it.

    Fuel pumps are actually pretty reliable on these bikes. I have a 2003 cbr600rr and mine hasent given me any trouble yet. Im at 37,000 miles and counting. The trick is you have to ride your bike at least a few times during the year, if it sits around you will get problems especially if the bike is older.

    • @Campers_Anonymous
      @Campers_Anonymous ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, very true. I had a 2005 cbr1000 and I got up to 42k miles before letting it go. Had zero issues with fuel delivery. Was my daily driver. This thing was sitting for over 6 years without a single ride 😳

    • @JD-fd6gt
