Use a screw once in a while
Let me know if you’d be interested in us starting our own homesteading channel to give you a peek into our small hobby farm! We currently have 2 pigs, 5 Pygmy goats, and about 40 chickens!
Really, you couldn't use a hammer?? Where is khaby when you need him?
😅 it was more to illustrate how the palm nailer works, not because I don’t know how to use a hammer! 😄
@BurkholderCustomCarpentryLLC96. I get ya'..
Looks like crap
Would that fit a vinyl siding nail in it?
Would this work for the skin on my heels?
@@Equatis 😅
Cringe noise
Definitely beneficial to see how you did it and what tools you used for it. Hope that helps. Thanks

Nice man!
This was really helpfull. Thank you for sharing.
He's a hack don't follow anything in this video
I built one of these for a customer, initially I wasn’t sure it was worth the money, but after building it, and seeing assembled and how durable it was once it was put together, I loved it, and now I want one for my house. Really like the color, metal roof and the black metal brackets. I feel it’s worth the money if you are going to use it. Go for it. Good luck.
I agree with almost everything you said. The durability isn’t necessarily in question, but the finish is questionable. It’s cedar wood, so it’s really soft, and my customer has had stain flaking off and it looks kinda rough, and it’s only been up for two years!
What area are you in, cause the back landscape is beautiful!
In general terms, southeastern PA.
@@BurkholderCustomCarpentryLLC96 thAts awesome!
"PromoSM" 😬
Not true, you have to keep top pressure on the gun and not nail on a bouncy surface.
Awful nailing job 😂
I thought Canada would use 30 degree Rigids in that part of the region especially with the Northern temperatures
I’m not in Canada, but what would a sharper angle have to do with cold weather?
This only happens if you put the nails in the mag wrong
I’m suspicious it was the last nail in the strip of nails, and there was no more plastic collating to hold it to the other nails, so it fired sideways.
The safety lock out keeps from firing the last 5 or seven nails in the strip
This video confirms that those things are almost useless.
Nice tip bro, u got a new subscriber 👍🏾
Thanks for the sub!
Overtime the wire may loosen enough where when you take the receptacle out of the box the wire may become dislodged, power should be off so that wouldn’t cause an issue, if you side wire with a ¾ loop even if the wire got loose it would never come out from beneath the terminal screw no matter what.
In my most recent video, I went into great detail on how to properly wire a receptacle so nothing ever comes loose. This short was just to show an alternative to the normal hook method. Ur advice is good tho! 😎💪🏽
I don't know how someone who works in the trades doesn't know their store brands lol. Husky is home Depot. Master Force is menards, kobalt is Lowe's, etc..
I use almost no Husky stuff, that’s why
A tradesman throws it away so it dont get on his tools
Only a slop would store his caulk with his other tools. 🙄 I am a professional, and I have a designated tool box for all caulk and glue tubes.
My pa had to tear down a wall in the bedroom and what we found on the other side was poop, diapers, rat poop, ded rat, and a whole lot of kid toys (lots of dolls)…
😳😳
lol why didn't you run the top plate over the studs
It was a while ago, and I didn’t have a ton of experience, so I’d assume you could probably find something to pick at in most of my old videos. 😅
How to tell when someone is NOT a professional.. this man chooses to be stupid instead of having a drywall hoist.. but it’s ok not every “professional” knows how to use their tools. And good loard look at the waste of screws bet you half of them didn’t even hit anything 😂
I do very little ceiling drywall, and have limited storage space, which is why I currently don’t own a hoist. My videos are not aimed at professionals, they’re made to help DIYers figure out how to do stuff without buying the expensive tools professionals would use. Also, I NEVER leave loose screws in the drywall. I used more than normal there because some of the screws were run too deep, and rather than back them out, I simply ran a proper screw beside it. I’m proud of you for doing everything perfect tho! Keep it up! 🙄😂😎
@@BurkholderCustomCarpentryLLC96 wow it’s funny you should say that. I actually came here from another DIY video where you bashed the dude for not being a “professional”. His lack of professional tools is what you hit him with.. so I did the same to you.. maybe is your attitude that make you less of a professional I don’t know. But I’d suggest getting a hoists it brakes down into different parts for easier storage… but a professional would have know that already… 🤷🏻♂️
Now you’ve got me curious. What video was that? I definitely do critique other people’s work sometimes, but I generally try to keep it to things that will affect end product quality. How you get there is less of an issue to me, unless it’s something that will cause problems in the long term.
important to support the ceiling with temporary walls before removing the main bearing wall and installing the new beam. Definitely a lot of work there
My favorite part of your video is when you're pointing with your bandaged hand. That's a real DIYer in action. 😆 Thanks for the video. I'm building one of these this spring. By the way, have you considered building a deck to cover your concrete footers?
That’s a great idea, but it’s a friends house, and I’m not sure if it matters to them. That would be a great way to cover them up tho!
'Promo SM' 🌸
The increased the fire rating
😁
Crazy that they painted the pieces you pulled out the same color as the wall 🤦🏼♂️🙄
If you’re talking about the shot of the pile of stuff at the end, I had already cut the wall back about 2’, so there were pieces of painted wall laying on the floor. None of the stuff I pulled out of the wall was painted.
Beat part of remodeling is the mystery behind the walls lol😊
I would use the hemostats I keep in my tool bag along with my finish hammer to get the nail started. That’s a last resort and only if I can’t get my hand in there. If I can get my hand in there then it’s a cake walk.
23 guage pinner
Get a 23 gauge, wtf are you putting trim on with a brad nailer, ugh
It’s quarter round. What’s the issue?
You don't have good adhesives in america??
Ya we do, but it would be much harder to remove when the cabinets or flooring need to be replaced next time, but I guess that’s not really my concern. 😅 I could’ve glued it, you’re right.
Micro pins… the gun fits right under the tie kick
I should’ve done that! I have a micro pinner!
That is not REBAR, the GAUGE IS WRONG!!!!
It’s a sidewalk. Rebar mesh is perfectly acceptable. I wouldn’t use it if I was pouring a house floor, but a simple sidewalk, it’s totally fine!
It's called inertia
Im not a fan of those. Theres other options that should work in that scenario. Shallow plastic or metal 4 squares. But if it works it works
What makes you not a fan? I do very minimal electrical work, so I’m not qualified to say whether or not they’re great, but I thought it served it’s purpose well.
@@BurkholderCustomCarpentryLLC96 they're just a pain in the ass if you have to add something down the road

Live and learn believe it or not I have seen worse jobs then yours that transition is a little scary next time make a step or do in 2 pours if doing all by yourself. But only Monday morning quarterbacking don't know fully what you and your customer discussed
Now here’s a useful comment. I could’ve and probably should’ve done a step instead of that weird transition. The customer was ok with the transition being build that way, but as a contractor, it’s my job to think of all the possibilities, and that would’ve been a good option! Thanks!
It’s really not that bad. If the concrete is really wet, bull float with a wood bull float. This will open the concrete more. After that, leave it alone, allow the concrete to get some body. Use a dry broom, if you have to, get yourself in a good spot and leave job site and come back when it’s ready. I have broomed concrete in the middle of the night. Whatever it takes.
That ramp is dangerous for wheel chairs
There’s no way wheel chairs could even drive on that anyway because there are stairs going up to the porch from the walkway. No wheel chairs will use this.
You should pay them not to sue you. Dont blame the concrete truck you. If can slump test that concrete when it gets there if its to wet send it back. Alway order dry you can always add water you cannot take it off. THIS IS ALL ON YOU BUDDY
If you watch the video I said it was a metered truck. You can’t “send back” a metered truck cause everything is mixed on sight. I told the driver he needed to correct his water issues, and all he said was, “I’m trying!” 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
For starting out and giving a discount your OK bro. Starting out is never easy or perfect. Like anything else , experience will get you where you want to be.
The frustrating part is this summer I poured a 12’x16’ shed pad, and it turned out perfectly! But it’s inside a shed where no one will see it. This is out in the open, and turned out poorly! 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Remember that you are in the "Land of the free"... DID YOU PULL A PERMIT FOR THAT ? Or want the city and county construction INSPECTORS giving you a hard time and/or making you to tear it down ! Oh oh ... and don't forget your " friendly and nosy" Home Owner Ass-ociation putting a Lien on your property, because you did not ask them for permission to do that.... Haaar har har, free ? did you said ?
This is on a multi-acre property in the country, so no HOA, or really any restrictions at all.
You're gonna need a lot more pins than that to stop 2 by 4 is from Bowing when you pour the concrete.
Actually, I didn’t. If you watch the video I posted where I was wrapping up the job, the edges were straight! The forms were down below dirt level at most spots, so the dirt on the outside of the forms kept the forms from bowing.
You always need at least 20mm of concrete around the rebar on all sides... Not sure what is up with your building code in the US..
Not sure what 20mm is… 😬😁 it is recommended for sidewalks to have 4” of concrete on top of 3” or 4” of stone.
That looks really well done, man. 🤌💪🙌👍
Ohhhh, your HOA bout to fine you. 😬😬😬 JK. They did fine me, however.😭😭😭
This job is out in the country on a multi-acre property, so I don’t have an HOA to deal with! 😄
