The Seychelles truly has some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Why? Because of the large granite rocks that poke out on the beaches. It creates a unique feature that is unmistakable. This plus the white soft sand, increadable sunsets and the waves just hit right 🤷
The local Seychellois believe that the Seychelles is the original garden of Eden. The coco de mer (the worlds largest nut) is believed to be the original forbidden fruit. Because of is shape resembles a woman’s pelvis. The life cycle of the Coco de Mer is also surprising similar to a humans. It’s also a know aphrodisiac.
I also really enjoyed the stories of how Seychelles people used to propose marriage. First the intended husband must write a letter in goose feather to the father of the woman they intend to marry. After this he must prove his skill by producing a fruit basket made from local palm leaves. Then they must fill this fruit basket with ‘hard’ fruit. This is fruit that is not easy to acquire. Therefore fruits that is usually protected by bees or thorns. After this the suiter must sit at a table with the father and daughter and roll a small tomato close the edge of the table where the daughter sits. Not too far or to short or he would lose her hand. 😅 Think long and hard about proposing in Seyschelles!
