Hi Wendy, I'm reaching out here since I seem to need a comment code to write on the TravelArk blog. I recently read your post about Adygea and wanted to share my thoughts. Please know that I’m not approaching this from a place of malice, and I haven’t reviewed your previous or subsequent work, so this isn't a character study. Rather, it’s a heartfelt plea. I genuinely appreciate your coverage of the Adyghe people, as I hold a deep respect for their culture. However, I found it difficult to engage with your post due to some of its content. While I can understand your personal perspective, I felt that some of your comments unintentionally came across as dismissive. If you were feeling bored by the traditions and stories of the people in Adygea, it raises the question: why visit if not to embrace the experience? It seemed as though you preferred to engage with the culture only on your own terms, without seeking a deeper understanding of its historical context from those who live it. Your expression of boredom during your museum visit, alongside naming individuals in your account, felt rather disrespectful. Such statements can impact how others perceive those individuals, as they may now be associated with your unflattering narrative. While I believe in the value of free speech, there’s a line between expressing your personal experience and showing consideration for others. Moreover, I noticed some inaccuracies in your portrayal of certain aspects of the culture, which could benefit from more research and humility. Your writing gave an impression of disregard for the local peoples, which, in turn, painted an uninformed picture of you as a traveler. Moving forward, I encourage you to adopt a more respectful approach to your travels, as awareness of the historical and cultural backgrounds of indigenous peoples is crucial. Every traveler should enter a new place with reverence and an understanding that their behavior affects not just their experience, but also the communities they visit. I also found your casual references to roadside hearsay concerning the Adyghe people troubling, especially considering your own admission of lacking prior knowledge before visiting. This could lead to misunderstandings and a skewed representation of their culture. Ultimately, my hope is to see refined blog posts that nurture positive relationships with the people and places you explore. If your goal is merely to critique your experiences without a willingness to understand or engage genuinely, it may be better to reconsider your travel approach entirely. Remember, just because you can share your thoughts, it doesn’t necessarily mean you should do so without care. Lastly, I empathize with your frustrations to see the communist decay, and for example, the train experience is just that. It exists in other "Eastern Block" countries as well, and it is absolutely sad, especially in summer, to be crammed in those awful outdated, smelly trains. I wish you could have seen the region as it was before the Circassian genocide. But I hope the gorgeous mountains and rivers made you feel something at least. That is my favourite part from there :) Best regards Aurora
I'm from Sakha, thank you for documenting our region. I've been to saskylakh a couple times. I never would have imagined any tourists visitng it but it's really cool you checked it out, and in Winter! Спасибо!
@@Brilembi thank you for your comments! We love Russia. Just such a shame we cannot get there now. But I’m still learning Russian. I have blogs on all my trips - v2.travelark.org/traveller/crowdywendy. The ones on our trip to Sakha was such a pleasure to write. There are two blogs - one of the ice road trip and another on our trip to Oymyakon. Thank you for the trouble to write!
Very nice 👍
Can you make walking tour of your city
@@rafiqnadaf8667 yes, I am pretty sure you can. You just need to look up an information link for Vancouver. I’m sure they have self-directed walks with audio. Vancouver is a very nice and easy place in which to get around. We did one of the Hop on, Hop off bus trips that takes you around the city and where you can spend as long as you like at the stopping points. Good luck!
I like cold places ❤❤
How do you reach this place? by plane?
@@zhengwei4929 we travelled here by 4WD vehicle in 2020 from Yakutsk via the Anabar ice road. Fabulous place to visit , we travelled from here further north to Yuryang-Khaya, the northernmost settlement in Yakutia, Russia. I have a blog on this trip. If you want to read it, just let me know!
So cold. Just snow everywhere. Must be feeling warm in the train
I am Indian What would Be The Cost Of living here
bro this place has like 2,000 people. I wouldn't recommend living here, there are plenty of other cold places in Russia with better infrastructure. Myabe look into Yakutia
I'm from Yakutsk, the capital of the Sakha region where this is. I'm not kidding when I say you will be very miserable living here and people from other climates often are killed out there becuase it 's so harsh. If you want to live in Russia/Siberia, I'd recommend Irkutsk or Novosibirsk. Sakha is not for people who have never lived more than 10 years in a winter environment. Good luck!
Especially you from India you cannot stand that freezing cold I guarantee it is so cold you cannot imagine

No, not at all. It’s a fascinating region. I think the people live pretty happy lives.
"the real world" ? 😂 Wow.
it’s fun there i live there and we hunt polar bears
Why did you go there?
It was apart of a tour to Anabar, Sakha Republic. You can view the blog on TravelArk under my writing name of Crowdywendy.
Wow! I just randomly found this place on Google maps! And it looked abandoned to me. I think it was during spring or summer because there was no snow. Is the whole place blocked off? Could you go into the village?
Hi Nicole - I took this video in 2020 on our travels from Yakutsk to Yuryung-Khaya on the Arctic Ocean. It was in February and definitely winter! This was an old train within an abandoned village, presumably an old mining settlement. It was near Chernyshevkiiy, Sakha Republic. My blog of the entire trip "Zimnik Yuryung-Khaya: Expedition Extreme Arctic Russia" can be found at crowdywendy/travelark. Sorry, I lost your notification and have only just found it to reply to. I am happy to answer any further questions you may have. Wendy

People just living there like anyone in the North. Canada,Alaska e.t.c.
I think its really boring there no internet
Its like being on a diffrent planet almost. So crazy the way our world is
Yes! It really was. Such a pity we can’t get back there. Such a love affair with Extreme Arctic Russia.
I randomly stumbled upon Yuryung Khaya on Google Earth while looking at remote places in Siberia. Found your travelblog article after looking it up, quite cool to see such an isolated place. (well cool is an understatement, it would be freezing to death)
Your travels to Ultra remote Siberia destinations are spectacular! Extremely cold too
what a beautiful place
Sono pronte. Le renne x il volo di babbo natale un saluto 🙋♂️
This is Yuryung-Khaya, a tiny village in Extreme Arctic Russia on the Anabar River and one of the northernmost settlements in the Russian Federation. We travelled here by 4WD in Russian winter of 2020. Would you like some more information? I write blogs and either I can send you the link or you can look it up under Zimnik Yuryung-Khaya: Expedition Extreme Arctic Russian (TravelArk). Feel free to contact me on crowdywendy@bigpond.com. What country are you from?
I was looking at Google Maps and found this tiny settlement with the same name. Can you tell us more about the place? The Google Maps images are so pixelated, suggesting that google doesn't update this region and it makes sense. How did you end up here? All my life I've lived in a metropolis, so this kind of places are just beyond my imagination.
T May - hope you received my response as I can’t see it now. Please let me know.
@@crowdywendy I got a "like" but didn't get answers to my question. Anyway hope you find time for the same. God bless you.
@@MarduksonofEa - what a pest as I spent a while answering! It’s a village in Extreme Arctic Russia called Yuryung-Khaya. How I can reach aykhal from Moscow.
Hi Karan - you would need to catch a flight from Moscow to Yakutsk. From there, it would depend on what time of the year you are travelling. In winter, like we did, it is possible to travel by four-wheel drive along the frozen ice and winter roads all the way from Yakutsk to Aykhal, and if you wanted to, on to Yuryung-Khaya as we did. We could highly recommend it. You would of course, require a professional driver as these roads can be truly hazardous. If you travel in summer, you can fly from Yakutsk to Aykhal. We are Australian and used the services of a Moscow-based travel agency to organise all of our travel. If you wish to contact me for further information, I would be pleased to try to assist you.
