I was waiting on a bus station last summer, I had a suit on and my bra kept hurting. A man came to me, clearly worn down by time, the bulk of his fingers were missing I'd say he had about 4 left total. He asked me to call someone for him, his daughter, it isn't in my nature to ignore anyone so I did. No one answered. I sent a message to no response. He began talking, asked me about God, not wanting an argument I said I believed in one, but he went the route of "if God is real, kind and good, why'd he do this to me?" I, by some compulsion challenged him on that idea, maybe I was thinking it'd be better for him. I argued God didn't act intentionally but randomly, that he was the grand Rube Goldberg machine. I seemed to have cought him off guard. See, I study philosophy and this sort of thing, and I'll admit it's a fault, is a fantasy of mine. To change someone's worldview, to reveal something the way it was to me. He retorted, to my surprise he studied philosophy too. The conversation was long, what his daughter answered in messages was devastating but what remains is this tid bit he told me. That he's afraid of children's eyes because when he looks at them, he somehow sees he's no longer human. He than told me he was afraid of me.

As much as I absolutely adore what Karina adds to the chemistry of the show, I'm still nostalgic for the time before she digivolved from Tristan.
