Welcome, just your average DIYer here ;)
Dresser restoration || makeover
Restoring a Dresser my wife bought for the nursery room. We realized it was warped and falling apart due to being built out of MDF material.
So instead of buying a new one, I decided to save the dresser and put it to good use.

Husky silent air compressor 20 gallon
มุมมอง 24K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Sound reference for the husky silent compressor 20 gallon. Test was in my one car garage which might sound louder than if it was outside or bigger space. $350 at Home depot.
Niceee good job looks great
@@LJG_582 hey thanks man! Much appreciated!
No, this is nice. And if DIY. Damn good job.
@@Gravvvyyy thank you! Means a lot!
Dang
Great review does it still work well?😊
@@jimfeaster4837 thank you! It still works great! I have done multiple projects from inflating tires, building cabinets to sprinkler blowouts and it’s great. No complaints!
Sir, what is the size of the quick coupling for the 20 gl compressor, thanks
@@aticafloorable it’s the standard 1/4 inlet. 👍🏼
@BeltranBuilds thanks you
How wide outside of wheels on huskey?
@@jimfeaster4837 17”1/2 exact from outside of wheels.
@@BeltranBuilds thank you!
@@jimfeaster4837 no problem!
That husky is a lot quieter in real life! 💯
@@MrDucatiV4 video doesn’t do justice!
One issue is that phone microphones have a compression algorithm which evens out sound differences. I know for a fact that the silent compressor is much quieter than the others in real life. It just doesn't come across accurately on the phone video.
You are absolutely right. I also realized after a couple weeks after posting the video that the release valve on the bottom also was open. So the air compressor was trying to compress the air but it was releasing it through the valve causing a slight high pitch noise. But yes, it is more quiet and definitely less annoying than the traditional air compressors.
Or just add another coat when the humidity is lower
At 1:30 I was like "Wow, that's very silent indeed!"
😂 oops.
That thing is loud
Nothing “silent” about it IMO
You did a great job placing them side by side for comparison.
Thank you!
Very reasonable loudness. I have a small 8gl California compressor and that one is even quieter. But I might buy that 20gl as runs out too fast and its getting a bit annoying having to wait for it to refill every time.
oh yeah itll be a good upgrade for sure. Air wise at least.
I love this new update
Awesome job! Lots of talent!
Looks a lot better than before, looks more expensive too
The Husky was a bit lower than the Dewalt.
Old fashioned steel compressor with oil, 2 cylinders, and a belt, is always going to be quiet, they are just a little heavy, that's all. I almost bought one of these "quiet" compressors to take to jobs,..but found out they were much heavier than the noisy ones,.. If I still could deal with heavy,..I would take one of my old standy 1970s craftsman compressors.
Husky crap!!!!!!!! can’t adjust tool pressure to less than tank pressure. I have no reserve if I had 150 in tank but needed 40 for a tool it hisses at adjustment handle until both gauges match and tank doesn’t Repressurize until I crank tool pressure to 150 and then I have to turn it off and back on until tank and tool match at 150 effin crap!
I was like wow that's super silent until you plugged it in haha
😅
You can't really compare to those compressors are totally different kind super loud what about compared to a comparable 20-gallon 1 or 2 horsepower compressor
I appreciate the quieter compressor, but they shouldn't call it silent. They should call it "quiet compressor"
Is it powerful enough to run air tools for building/restoring cars, etc?
As a hobby, sure. But if its full time like a business I wouldn’t recommend. Had some trouble keeping up with a small paint sprayer painting a topper. I imagine would do the same for a sander ect.
The silent is the loudest of all.
turns out the silent compressor isn’t silent at all
how long it take to fill up from empty?
It takes 7 1/2-8 minutes.
How do you think this would do using a hand held sandblaster hopper?
It would be even quieter on a thick rubber mat👍🏾👌🏾
Can you paint a car with it !! Lvlp
Tried painting my truck topper and struggled to keep up. Wouldn’t recommend to paint a car with it. Unless you paint panel by panel.
It would be great if you loaded decibel meter app on your phone and run this test again. The app is free. They are pretty accurate. I am guessing the Husky 20g quiet is about 68-72 dB??
Ill try it next time, Thanks!
Those apps are not accurate at all.
Huskey beats them all
😂 when you first tried to turn it on I got super excited because it was so quiet, but then you realized you didn't plug it in and shattered my dreams 😂 I thought that was hilarious. I just got one and haven't used it yet, was just curious because I've been wanting to take it out of the box just to hear it. I'm gonna use it tomorrow for the first time. What do you use it for?
Lol make sure you plug it in! Ill mainly use it for small projects around the house (interior trim, spray stain, paint car parts ect.). haven’t used it yet. Waiting on a filter for moisture. 👍🏼
@@BeltranBuilds thanks for reminding me! I live in Phoenix so it's pretty dry, but when it rains, it rains bad and I really need one. Last time it was raining and I was using my old one, and it was so humid it was spitting out water everywhere. I'm actually heading out to get a few more things before I start these cabinets and writing a list. Gonna put that in, thanks for reminding me! Which one you looking at getting? I've used the harbor freight ones in the past and they work well. I actually have the purple harbor freight hvlp gun, it work better than you would believe. I was looking at getting a mini mite but it was gonna cost me 1200. This and that hvlp gun was less than half. And I can use the compressor for a ton of other things. I'm off to the store
I got the husky hvlp 600 cc cup. I think thats more than enough to take care of my projects. And for the filter just a random one on amazon. Good luck!
Me too lol hahahah
