I think some lorry drivers like to use the size of their vehicles to try to bully and intimidate smaller vehicles, it just shows what kind of person they are, they’re just bullies, never ever let another driver pressure you or force you to do something that you don’t want to do, they won’t care if you crash, always protect yourself.

The number of people in the comments who clearly have a) no observational skills, b) cannot drive at all or c) are clearly the d*ckheads speeding tailgating other people, is quite worrying. The cam car can't speed up, he waited back while another lorry overtook and maintained a safe distance, waiting for that vehicle to move back to the left lane before proceeding with his overtake. Meanwhile, the lorry behind is up his backside, which means the cam car needs an even larger gap between the vehicle in-front of him. If he was closer to that lorry in front and there was an incident, he'd not stop in time, and the lorry behind would also crash into him, basically sandwiching him between two massive trucks! Clearly nobody here has any skill at looking after themselves... which is exactly why there are so many deaths on the roads

tl;dr - cammer wasn't unnecessarily slow, nor a lane hog. from 0:35 onwards, you can see that the striped lorry up front has been wanting to get to the overtaking lane (flasing signal lights, visible on a desktop). i would have done the same thing as the cammer did at this point - let the lorry join the lane, and slow down so as not to tailgate a lorry. (if i was gonna crash into something, ffs, don't let it be a lorry, so yes, i ain't tailgating that shit either) by 0:52, the lorry successfully starts joining the overtaking lane. (looks like some of you would have sped up and prevented it from doing so 😉) the cammer has nowhere to go at this point, except slow down to avoid tailgating the lorry. he could move to the outerlane, but the blue lorry is too close - and i'm not sure undertaking is legal in the 1st place. we don't know how early the striped lorry started going back to the outer lane, we only know that by 1:33, it's still pretty much blocking the inner lane. by 1:35, the inner lane finally clears up, and the cammer can finally, **safely** , speed up.

This is what happens when you hog the lane and sit with 50mph.

Suck the truck in front pulled in front, but you slowed down and that forced the truck behind to slow, hence he’s frustrated. Slowing down is necessary for you in that situation because whilst you can out brake the truck in front in every circumstance you can’t have that confidence for the one behind. Forcing them back keeps it safe for you. No point putting yourself in danger just to blow sunshine up someone’s arse

For all those saying the cammer is lane hogging and should speed up. The cammer was not lane hogging because the road ahead was not clear. At 1:32 the cammer is travelling at the same speed as the truck in the overtaking lane ahead and is 2 seconds behind that truck. Leaving a 2 second gap to the vehicle in front is the correct way to judge a safe following distance. The lorry behind the cammer was however was tailgating - dangerously so - an offence with potentially life threatening consequences. If you are being followed by a tailgater such as this lorry driver and it isn't possible to forge ahead the safest option is to maintain distance from the vehicle in front.

That's why lorry drivers end up in fatal accidents.

Honestly just speed up

All trucks in Europe are governed to the same speed. It's only the difference in the weight of the freight that lets one truck pass another.
