    Jim, I'm planning on buying one next spring, I live in Flagstaff Arizona and for now, I'm fed up of taking the Greyhound when traveling, I'm dying to ride out with your suggested mpg of 75-85 miles per gallon to rapid City SD. Hopes we meet up on the road someday ( Sturgis rally)! Awesome video man!!

      Thanks, Richard. I didn't make it to the Sturgis Rally this year - we were in western North Carolina, enjoying the good riding there. First time I've missed the Rally since 2018, and did it a bunch of times before that, on various bikes. You might not see that kind of MPG when riding solid at highway speeds... but it will still be good. The 200 is an OK highway bike (bigger is better for long distance), but the Burgman 200 is a good "all 'round" bike.

      @@lisbinator Sorry, I haven't used the DJI Mic 2 with the X4, so I can't say how it would be. As far as the Action 5 vs the X4 - those are VERY different cameras. Until I bought the DJI Action 4, I had been shooting all my motorcycle/scooter video with the Insta360 cameras. Had 3 GoPros - a frustrating waste of money, so I was a bit gunshy about any typical action camera... but the Action 4 changed my mind about that. I really like the combination of the Action 4 and the X4 for completely different perspectives that I can edit together.

      @@lisbinator If you haven't used a 360 camera before, there is more time involved in the editing process (although you can use their AI editing, but you give up the control of where you want the view to be). If I could only use one camera for motorcyle/scooter videos, it would be the Insta360 X4, just because of the versatility. I use Insta's editing app to get the video to where I want the view, then save the clip as a regular video (not 360). For the final editing, and all of the Action 4 editing, I use iMovie on a Mac.

    I have a Burgman 200, and the bike before it was the Smax 155. I personally don’t remember feeling that the 200 was slower than the 155. I agree with everything you said about both bikes. Man I love the upgrades on your Suzuki that's a nice looking machine. I just got a 25 adv160 and would love to get a Corbin seat or a cushion of some kind and a good windshield. Hi Scott - thanks for the kind words. I see that Corbin does offer a seat for the ADV150, so I would expect they will at some time have one for the ADV160. The windshield extension on my B200 is made by Puig (check Amazon); it clamps on (with an allen wrench) and is adjustable in height and angle. I've had (have) other windshield extensions on other bikes, but I think this Puig has been the most solid and adjustable. I am able to direct the wind to the top of my helmet, making for less wind noise and better cooling through the helmet vents. Thanks for viewing!

      Hi crosca82 - thanks for the comment. I traded off the GTS 300 HPE a couple years ago, but even with a tuck, the Xmax is going to out-accelerate and have a higher top-end than the Vespa. Not that it makes any difference in real world use - both are good machines. The Xmax also gets better fuel mileage and has longer service intervals. All that said, the Vespa, to my eye, is the better looking machine... and that counts, too. And for full disclosure, I bought a Honda CTX with DCT before selling the Vespa and also have a Burgman 200 for a fun smaller scoot.

      Congrats on getting the Corbin seat - it makes a world of difference in comfort. The install is relatively easy, but it is helpful to have a second person to help hold the seat while you attach it. There are four bolts in the original seat up at the nose - remove those to take the seat off. The Corbin only has 3 holes, but they match up to 3 of the 4 Suzuki holes. On my bike, I needed to put a spacer (3 actually) under the "U" that came on the Corbin seat to make it fit properly into the seat latch on the bike. Corbin provided 4 washers, mine needed 6 (3 on each side of the "U" to make it long enough to reach into the seat latch. As I recall, the seat came with installation instructions, but it is all pretty evident what goes where. Good luck with your install and enjoy your new seat!

      @captainjim605 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Brien - yes, just the Insta360 X4 on 8k for this video. If just using one camera, this is my choice - if you haven't used a 360 camera, you decide on the view *after* you shoot, but using keyframes while editing to get the view you want. Much easier to shoot than a typical action camera, but it takes more time in editing/production. These days, I like using 2 cameras: the DJI Action 4 and the Insta360 X4 to get some variety in the shots, plus the DJI Mic 2 works great with the Action 4 to get voice while riding (as opposed to doing a voice-over, as I did in this video). Hope that helps.

    I wish Honda wound redo these CTXs, as well as the NM4s. They are cool sounding and very easy to ride. I have an NC750 X w/DCT and I love it for long distance rides. I have been riding for 41 years and I think DCT's are so intuitive. However, unless you have ridden one, the opinions are very biased. I am able to attain about 70 MPG's. It is not as good as my Grom or PCX. But considering the size of the engine. I am laughing all the way to the gas station between fill-ups.

    • @captainjim605
      @captainjim605 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      From my perspective, Honda did not know who to market the CTX to... so, it languished. I consider mine to be a "sport cruiser" - it is comfortable with the foot forward position (especially with floorboards) and a Corbin seat (that gives great lower back support), but agile enough to be fun on a twisty road. It would have been interesting to consider what Honda might have done with the CTX, considering the improvements in the NC750X. I could appreciate a CTX with more Ride Modes, Traction Control, Cruise Control, and ride by wire... and a slightly bigger engine. And while I'm at it: more suspension adjustability. Am I asking too much? I guess this is why they came out with the Rebel 1100.

      Yes, I am riding the Burgman 200 - it has done fine in the hills here, through the curves, and handling the in-town traffic and highways. Hasn't been "maxed out" yet. We did a group ride on Monday, and it hung with the Vespas, Xmaxes, and a SilverWing.

      The visibility with the Nolan N70-2 GT helmet is great. I have that one set up with a communicator so my wife and I can talk when we're riding. It was my main helmet for several years. • @captainjim605

      Hi Mark - that extension is the Puig Motorcycle Windshield Extension. It works great for deflecting the wind flow to the top of my helmet. I have a Motoparty version of that on another motorcycle - not as well made as the Puig, but it works very similar. I had a Laminar Lip on two previous Vespas that also worked well, but weren't adjustable after you stick it down. The Puig is my favorite.

    Do you carry the Burgman on a hitch carrier on the motorhome? I have been working on a way to tow my Jeep and carry my Burgman on the motorhome

    • @captainjim605
      @captainjim605 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Tony. We have a FeatherLite cargo trailer that the bikes ride in behind the motorhome. In the past, we have double towed: motorhome>HondaCRV>cargo trailer, where that is legal; then drive separate where you can't double tow. I've seen videos from Chainsaw Bob where he tows the B200 on a hitch carrier. Our situation is different: we both ride, so two bikes. If your motorhome is big enough (a diesel pusher with a high tow rating), you could go with a hydraulic lift that also has a receiver so you can tow a car, too. Our motorhome is on an E-450 chassis (class C), with a 5,000 pound tow rating, so not enough. I have seen tow dollies that have space for a motorcycle, then you put the front wheels of the car on it. Over the years, we have had motorhomes (diesel pushers to Class B campervans), a toyhauler, and a 5th wheel. The best conveyance for us has been the motorhomes. It is a lot of work to try to take "all the conveyances" along. The cargo trailer (whether double towing or driving separate) has been our choice... it also makes a good "portable garage" to keep the bikes in when set up at an RV park. Good luck with the search.

      @@Tony7022 I get that. Our Winnebago Aspect is our "downsize" coach; it has been a good fit for us. Just under 30', so we fit almost anywhere. I thought we'd go for a Winnebago View on a Sprinter chassis when we first started looking at something smaller, but it didn't have near the storage as the Aspect. Different use from previous RVs.

      Thanks CK - I do appreciate what each of the bikes I have brings to the riding experience. I've owned 35+ bikes over the years, and have appreciated each. When we got those first scooters over a decade ago, there was some riding style adjustment since you don't have the engine braking with a CVT like you do a typical manual transmission. The DCT offers the same engine braking as a manual transmission, with the exception that the DCT won't allow you to downshift if it would overspeed the engine (and potentially lose rear tire grip). Which brings the question: why would you have a slow car? ;-)

    the image quality on both cameras there is a big difference hoping that its just because of the lens protector of the x4

    • @captainjim605
      @captainjim605 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Mashter - yes, there is a resolution difference between the Action 4 and the X4. The Insta360 X4 advertises 8k resolution, but that is for the whole sphere; when used as a "flat" video, you are getting closer to 2.7k resolution vs the 4k of the DJI Action 4. Also, the lens protectors on the X4 are the plastic ones that come with the camera - they do affect the image quality - no way around that with an additional piece of plastic over the lens... it's a trade-off to have some protection for those lenses that stick out from the body of the camera. I've been using Inst360 cameras for almost 4 years and have been accepting of the lesser resolution to get all the different point of view options only available with 360. In the grande scheme of things, I am not making Hollywood blockbusters - most people that look at my videos are doing so on a small device. As well, I will often select faster upload speed which means more compression. I think it is easy to get focused on ultimate resolution when the FEEL of a motorcycle video is the important thing to me. I appreciate your question.

      @@jamesosborne3408 I am not aware of a seat to be purchased, but check in your local area to see if there is an auto upholsterer who can re-make your seat. In Phoenix, there is a guy whose work looked great - he makes custom motorcycle seats and said he'd have to cut the seat pan to get that uncomfortable part that hit me right at the tailbone, then fiberglass it before shaping the foam (or adding a higher density foam). He quoted me $450 to reshape my seat, and an additional $200 if I wanted the higher density foam. I went with Corbin because I have had their seats on five of my previous bikes.
