I have seen quite a few GE turbines, enough to recognize them by the outline of the plaque. Those always seem to be removed for some reason. Probably my favorite brand of turbine to find and film.

@@MK0272 Typically I do but it's hard to avoid when its stamped on essentially the "main attraction." Place is not difficult to find and has remained clean for over a decade.. my little youtube video is inconsequential 🤷‍♂️.

A surprising amount of abandoned buildings still have power for a long period after abandonment, if you explored enough for yourself you would know that. No, I didn't have to break anything boomer.

That's really cool, I have seen that logo at a fair amount of power stations. Yeah these coal plants are all shutting down due to new regulations, some states were quicker than others. Dang, you even knew the cartoon characters name! I appreciate comments like this so much, thank you 🤟

The item in question is a boiler feed water pump! Just check out the size of the nuts on those studs! Lot of pressure!

@@Magnus-qr7lj It's crazy seeing some of the tools left behind in these places for stuff like turbine nuts. Finding a wrench that's 6 3/4 or something is wild 😂

@@Magnus-qr7lj I would respectfully disagree. Our vacuum pumps also had very large bolts that held the end caps on. And only operated a 10PSI on the water and 15inches for a vacuum. It required large ones because the parts were heavy and if you got a slug of water, the rotor would have wanted to disassemble the vacuum pump.Also a pump at that kind of pressure would have required bolts all along the joint between the upper and lower sections. You couldn't just have them in the middle of the edge whereas ours was setup that way. Also it appears to have a water inlet on the cap which is very common with vacuum pump as they provide a water seal at both ends for the rotor. Would love to see the spec plate on it no matter what it is.

Reddy Kilowatt used to be on the back of all the power company's trucks when I was a kid in the 60's. I think he goes back to the Rural Electrification (REA) of the 1930's

@slammedeuro20 I explored it all in a day, but it was a crazy amount of walking for sure. Even explored some buildings that I didn't include in the video (nothing to see haha).

@@GTMGhostGod Well, part of the reason I don't talk about the history is it gives away locations (It also just isn't the style of video I want to create). But unfortunately giving out names of locations publicly often leads to negative outcomes. I can say that the history was about as awful as is expected from these old facilities, and then some.

@@rjcarter2904 Generally explorers do not publicly give out locations as it more often than not leads to vandalism. There have been 2 fires on this campus in the past few months so I would rather not bring more attention to it.
