Really useful for sound design! Especially for games (guns, footsteps, etc). Nice work!
Congrats on the new job and the move! Thank you for sharing your journey, I was wondering was happened to your Dubstep(?) music making. Just to offer another perspective on the language question: when I went to Canada to study computer science in 2002, that university was teaching modern languages at the time (Java, ASP, SQL, etc) and we were very happy about that. Because back in France, we were taught a variety of older or less used languages: C, CAML, Prolog, etc The idea was to learn different programmatic paradigms, like functionnal programming with CAML and logical programming with Prolog, so we would end up being more adaptable later. I appreciate that better in retrospect. Your way of learning a language to build something is very powerful too, a great motivation. I'm super impressed by how you picked up C++ btw! I had tried to learn it by myself a long time ago, and if the basics were ok, there are so many subtleties and things to watch out for, I was glad not to have to work with that :)
Thanks man! Yes, learning how to think like a programmer is probably the ultimate skill. But i also know it can be overwhelming to learn that many languages, so that's why I like the project way 😁 As for the music, I haven't touched it in a while. I just really like programming 😁
@@kitik7778 If you get back to it later, you'll probably have fresh ears and new ideas :)
It's cool. I must find time (holiday vacations) to mess around with it.
Looks useful, will give it a try.
that sounds like a useful sounddesign tool indeed :) and it even has a lot of potential for future versions. i could for example imagine features where the chops are crossfaded over each other
ooo thats a good one too! What I'm thinking is adding a skew factor so that some chops are longer and others are shorter.
no way it's so cool ! well done !!
Looks really cool. good job on not leaving around unwanted files on the system too. Any chance of a Linux build ? I will buy you a coffee at checkout :) thanks
@SuperLinuxAudioGuru i don't think I'll be able to get a Linux build soon because Linux doesn't like drag and drop :( I can try and alt where it launches a file explore and make that the Linux build tho!
Hi Kitik! Does Disburser have minimum system requirements? It got installed properly on my mac in the VST3 folder, but it doesn't show up in Ableton 11. My mac is bit old, with MacOS High Sierra (10.13)
hi! High Sierra support ended four years ago so it's probably the case that the compiler no longer supports it. Sorry =(
@@kitik7778 ok, thank you for the reply! Yes, even Ableton 12 doesn't support High Sierra anymore 😢
Poor sample selection. It's actually an even better app.
lol, thank you! 😁
Agreed. Think a break would demonstrate it more clearly. Great work though Kyle!
😁👍 Before past i using the plugin Chop Chop! 4/5
Yo, I tested out your plugin for a little bit today, I think it's neat! I like tools that are just dead simple like this, can definitely see it becoming a regular part of my workflow. One bug that I ran into pretty much right away is that if you give it any sound at a sample rate other than 48000, the chopped audio it gives back will be a different length and pitch. So, for example, 44100 hz came back slightly shorter and 96000 hz came back twice as long. Hope you can fix that in an update And while I'm at it, one QoL thing that'd be good to add is a little text filed to input the number of chops directly instead of having to fiddle with the knob. And I'd also love it if it'd let me go past 100 chops for longer samples and/or extra mangling >:3
@tverdyznaqs oo that's good to know! I'll have to double check how I'm feeding in the sample rate thank you so much!
thanks my dude. fun and easy tool to use
ChopChop crashes FL Studio on Windows instantly!
looks cool, but I couldn't see if it works with Mac??
it "installs" but I've tried 3 different DAWs and it doesn't show up when they scan for plugins
this is neat! nice one
Pretty cool tool this would be pretty fire for experimental shit
