The great thing about these airbrushes is the fact you can own multiple airbrushes as they are so cheap. For as little as £60 you can buy 3 of them and have one just dedicated to Metallics, and one dedicated to Varnishing, and one for your general painting, which is good for me, except I have an addiction to buying airbrushes as I have 12 of them now, everything from Fengda, x3, Harder & Steenbeck x2 Gaahleri x 3, Paashe x1, Bartwell x1, Sparmax x2. I think I have enough now haha.

Looks fabulous Luke.. you really have added 'visual interest' to what in its original form is a pretty basic model. Just a random idea for a base / diorama. Maybe at rest in the ocean rescuing a downed pilot? Maybe the torso of a spare pilot sticking up out of the water? That would give the crewmen on the sides something to be looking for.
@@julianmhall not for this one, I have the Severn Class and the Rescue Sea King so that will be a diorama project for next year 👍

This is a great build and I'm loving the mods and improvements.
Looks great…I work within minutes of the RNLI HQ and they have plenty of Shannon’s here all the time, can confirm those grey railings are that kind of dull aluminium metal that you often see those tubular metal fence posts made of…certainly on the 3 different boats I’ve seen down there! Will have to look into that scale rope as well

Nice progress, Luke. I would try the drilling and wire on the railings. Start with one, and if to difficult/weak you can also take thin wire and loop it around each strut, fix it with a little drop of superglue? Good luck with the next stage 💥👍💥

Looking really nice and love the extra detail and figures! I’m building 2 side by side, one OTB including the paint and minimal starter tools😬 and the other with a bit extra detail but the full arsenal of kit to throw at it including the Outlaw paint + MRP I live on the south coast and work in Poole, 10 min walk from RNLI HQ and there are always some Shannon’s down there which has been super handy Planning on cutting the glazing too after the horror show of squeezing it in on the OTB build!
This is of great help, especially the scratch building. Inspired by what you have done here. Thank you.👍🏼

Excellent job, can’t wait to get started on my own when it arrives. Out of interest, did you add the centre console yourself or was that an Airfix piece? Only on a real Shannon that’s where our door down to the survivor space/engine room access is!
@@kiltedpirate1959 with the exception of the seats everything in the interior is scratchbuilt by myself, I wasn’t really going for accuracy and more to create some visual interest on the interior, now the cab is in place most of the interior cannot be seen unless you get very close to the model, just adds a bit to it.

@@MOS6510Models it’s not insurmountable and the subject is so unique it’s worth the effort. As a starter set I think even with the issues it’s passable, I think that when experienced modellers build anything we can be our own worst enemies getting obsessed with the perceived ‘perfection’ we aspire to, even with the issues I am absolutely loving the kit so far and for less than £20 it’s a big thumbs up from me 👍
