Battery 6v Liam. Handlebar control is just a dip switch. The ignition switch is on tbe headlight with a slot on it.

If you don't know the difference between an ingition switch and a headlamp dip switch, or understand 6 volt electrics, then perhaps you shouldn't be messing about with old bikes like this - or posting on here about it...!

I owned a C11G? In the early 1970's. It was an old plodder. Very slow stroke. Wish I still had it. The engine always looked big for a 250cc? Yours is great. Thank you for your video.

Battery has no acid in it cos its not a battery. It's an empty fake Exide case to take a modern battery like the one you put in it LOL

oil tank tool box bsa c15 and cyl and head c15 twin cyl and head a7 or a10

All the ohv C11s had C10 (side valve) numbered frames. C11g have an alternator instead of a dynamo.

The twin head and barrel look like an Ariel FH Huntmaster to me. This is almost identical to BSA 650 A10 . The BSA has "push in" exhausts ,Ariel used "stubs" (like yours) to clamp the pipes . Plus .060 is max oversize.(and pushing it! )as the barrel base flange can detach!! Single head and barrel def . C15 250 BSA.

odd head/cylinder Looks to be BSA C15. (ohv 250) Odd head etc BSA A7 or A10 (500&650cc)

BSA C11 =OHV Circa 1950. BSA C10 = SV Circa 1946-48 The C10 looks the better of the two Liam!😂

What does this engine weigh, and what is the wheelbase and width?

Nicely done video and I'm tempted to get the engine! Dunno about methylated spirits...judging by Amazon, this seems to be ethanol at >95%. A boiler pressure indication of some sort would be a nice addition, and I suppose that the ultimate pressure safety valve is the bit of tubing from boiler to engine. Any idea what boiler operating pressure actually is or at what pressure the relief valve lifts? Probably could run it on an air compressor and find out.

Can anyone tell me what type of oil to use to lubricate the engine parts. The instructions list 2T or 4T oil but I assume that is to mix with the fuel. Thanks!

The M Type engines are throttle governed, not hit & miss and, they are certainly not open crank.

We can’t seem to get ours to go, does it have to be methylated spirits? I tried alcohol 99%

I remember the 4 wheeled Foden my uncle Joe drove that had a Gardner in it would only do 42mph flat out but loaded up hill it would still do 42mph and over took all those modern lorrys, good old plodders

we solved the fiddly ball bearings and fitting the governer and slip ring....by removing the ball governers and fitting them after the flywheel was fitted..
