    Just don't get discouraged. Grow what grows here. Florida is a great place to grow so many things, easily. Don't try to grow northern flowers, vegetables, etc. Native Floridian garden. You're off to a great start Many things bolt in the summer also, lettuce, cilantro, etc.

    Good morning newest friend! "THANK U!" This Video is answering a question I asked of another canning person earlier this morning couldn't: can a person Brown their meat before they can it and it." I am a first year canner and deathly afraid of making us sick by not doing it right. Have a beautiful and blessed day. LUCRETIA

    • @Root_and_Fleurish_Farm
      @Root_and_Fleurish_Farm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can brown meat before canning. I prefer this method for beef and pork. It gives a better flavor in my opinion :) “Raw packing” is the method of just adding in raw meat to the can and letting it create its own juice in the jar. I did chicken this way in another video. If you cook meat first before adding to the jar you will need to add liquid. Hope that helps!

    (Mary here) I can pork all the time. I cold pack it because 75-90 minutes plus time to pressurize and cool down will adequately cook the meat. I add seasoning of course B4 sealing and wipe the rims with white vinegar. Meat comes out really tender.

    • @Root_and_Fleurish_Farm
      @Root_and_Fleurish_Farm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm sure this will taste good, but in no way is it carnitas. Seems like you've mashed BBQ & Mexican flavors together, but carnitas is a whole different process.

    • @alejandracontreras3266
      @alejandracontreras3266 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      En México cada estado tiene su propia versión de carnitas y ésta me parece buena para ser hecha de esta manera. Una mexicana.

    • @cocacolafiesta
      @cocacolafiesta หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well, actually I can pork and I deep fried with lard and the outcome was pretty close to carnitas. Obviously, when canning it may not come out 100% like cooking in a large vat of fat but something similar and to have readily available is good enough. As I am hispanic most of my food preps are for mexican cooking so this passed my test for carnita tacos and tortas.
