Hi @beastboy0736 its me again. I can’t manage to disable the auto clutch. As soon as I disable it, I have to recalibrate the pedals. But because I don’t have a clutch pedal, auto clutch is automatically reactivated. If you have any tips on how I can disable auto clutch without a pedal, I would be grateful.

No, no, it was just a bit gloomy. iRacing has had rain for a few months now, but of course, not for the oval races. NASCAR drivers would probably need snorkels if it rained on those tracks! 🚗💦

Hi. There are always discussions about the definition of track types. I think you have understood it very well. The “normal” ovals, like Charlotte, are referred to as Intermediate by NASCAR. NASCAR provides lists of tracks with their respective track types -> www.nascar.com/tracks/

Yes on those Tracks you have to work together. In IRL and in the Videogame. Daytona is today (?) Hopefully it will be a cool race.

Good question. This constant back and forth is not good for the draft. You should follow the movement, but if someone is swerving so heavy, I won’t do it. Besides, the driving style scared me too much, so I didn’t get closer :-)

Hi again, tnx for your comment. That’s a really good question. Honestly, I have no idea. I think there are different types of “aggressive” drivers. The first type doesn’t care about other drivers or the time they invest in attending a race (like me, as I’m only able to do three races a week) and they drive at full risk; they are allways in playoff mode :-). The second type drives beyond their limits, which makes them appear aggressive. And then there are those drivers who are really good and can control their cars and are respectful; let’s call them friendly aggressors. 😉 The art of oval racing is recognizing these drivers, giving them space, and letting them pass to avoid getting wrecked.

Thank you for your comment. You find the Subession ID (this race was 70769954) always in my video descriptions, so you can check if you was in the same field as well. Or you can search in TH-cam by Subession ID. And no worry, I allways have this TV-Cam Overlay in my videos. Cool that you like it.

Unfortunately, i didn't check the tires at the end. But they still felt very good, definitely not as down as yours. I think it would be a good idea to change the blackbox to the tires at the end when i'm back into the pits, then i have the tire ware values in my video recording. Thanks for your comment, cheers

Oh yes, that's very annoying, especially on the superspeedways you should never lose the pack :-) In ARACA races, I think that drafting is not so relevant on normal speedways. In this race I drove the high lane to catch up with people. I think that worked out well because the wider line protects the tires a bit more. Tires are a big issue at ARCA.

If you find it extremely annoying here is the unlisted raw version of the video without the second overlay of the streamer th-cam.com/video/zoEiwm86qd4/w-d-xo.html ;-) As an explanation: If i spot an active stream that overtakes me, i like to add his point of view as a second overlay. It's just for my pleasure. And, to be fair anough, you're 100% right about the sound. That's my fault, i hadn't paid attention to it. I should have muted it, or at least just extract only the streamers voice.

Thanks for your comment. That was a very cool race, 17 laps 3 wide with ARCA is a lot of fun. If only all races were like that. I see that I was right behind you at the wreck in L18 (16:10), unfortunately I had no luck. Maybe I should have swerved more to avoid becoming collateral damage 🙂 I always write the iRacing Subsession ID (this race 64640519) in the video description. If you search for it you can find my videos, it would be cool if everyone would do that, then we all could quickly check if there are videos of races where we were in.

Thank you for your comment. The whole video is cut together in Davinci Resolve. I assume you are asking about the Leaderboad overlay, which is a SimHub dashboard that i created by myself. I record the SimHub overlay separately after the race (I don't run any overlays during the race) and added/animated it in the Video-Composition. Hope that answers your question :-)

Thanks for your comment. The track looks simple, but is very challenging. Yes, it is questionable what you would have to do something like that on purpose. But still, the radio is sometimes very entertaining.

Hi! Yes, I was very nervous at the start, I had not planned to start so far ahead. I want to keep the original recording from the cockpit without any additional overlays. That means if I need to show the overlay during the whole race, I would have to make another recording of the whole race with overlays, which of course adds production time and blocks my PC. But maybe I'll do it once to see if it really adds value. <irony on> Hell yeah! I love the iRacing standard announcements after checkered flags <irony off>

That doesn't sound good. I had already wondered since you have not posted any videos for a while. I hope the circumstances are not too bad. This last race of the season was really a short one for me. I was so annoyed by the weak flag that I completely forgot to go into the pits. The last attempt to turn off then also went wrong.

Hi Duane, no worries, I really don't have any problems with it. I have a lot of humor and my mind is free of everything :-) But I liked the replay footage and since I've been wanting to try motion tracking for a long time, I was of the opinion that would be a good opportunity.

Maybe the reason for my faster reaction is that with my small brain the paths are much shorter than with yours. :-)

No I post every oval race. I race ARCA and Class B and A Fixed. One race per week. Unfortunately I can not invest more time at the moment. I am still new to iRacing and I think it is normal that you have many ups and downs as an average driver. ... but maybe I'm just bad :-) The shaking I do not consciously, I can not say whether it helps. It looks extreme on the video, I think I have to film my steering wheel with a camera once to see if that is so violent in real life. But thanks Duane for this hint. (I do not want to spoil but the next races will be even worse)

Thanks Duane. Yes, sometimes cautions are a lifesaver :-) But there was a very strange moment when i passed the 24 car at 19:41, i don't know what happened there. Was i on the wrong line or is this the draft?

I think that's what everyone calls "Aero-push". I don't quite understand it yet. I guess it happens when you're in the draft of the cars ahead of you? The more I look at it, I think you got caught in some sort of vacuum created by the cars moving apart. It's all computer code ("programming" is what it used to be called) and I think they are trying to make the complicated real-world work on the virtual world. They are still trying to figure out how to take billions of years of natural forces and make it artificial.

It must be something like that. Maybe i should post the scene in reddit and see what the community thinks about it :-) Hey! You are brilliant, i think you just redefined the defnition of computer simulation: "Simulation is trying to figure out how to take billions of years of natural forces and make it artificial."
