    I grew up going there with my uncle Virgil Hartley. He is in the hall of fame there as a builder and shooter. I have some of the guns he built and a fee of my own. I hope to take his daughter Joann there this spring

    nice kit man! Do you need a sewing machine to make those pouches you put together? Or do you do it by hand?

    Hello, I have this savotta backpack 339, I really appreciate it's look and volume, but I am in trouble with its seat belt which is really really uncomfortable at the end of the day or after just few hours if it is loaded heavy. I tried various solutions but none is satisfactory. Please tell me if you have found the good solution. Thanks for sharing.

      You can order shearling seatbelt covers off of Amazon and that does help a little bit, I am also going to experiment with and with kidney belts for Alice packs...thanks for watching...

    I grew up doing this as a kid in the '70's. My folks were part of the founding members of the Fort Atkinson Muzzleloaders in Nebraska. Great memories as a kid. I won a tomahawk at my first Jr. shoot - with a gun my dad built. Thank for this video!

    • @jeffallen6754
      @jeffallen6754 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the story Lori. I also grew up going there as a kid every spring and fall for years with my mom and dad. I hadn’t been since the early nineties and me and my dad agreed we would make the trip one more time if he could get healthy enough after a heart surgery in 2017. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be and he passed in early 2018. I recently drug out one of the rifles he left me loaded it up a few times and shot it. The sound and smell of the burning powder took me back to that hill in southern Indiana with my folks. I’m going to go back soon. Rip pop.

    I think close to the time you were there I was over at spot 6. I solo'd at spot 5 about a year ago and it's probably my favorite. That fallen tree that you were processing wood on gives me nightmares though. When I was there it was getting late and I tried my small axe on some small branches on that log and one stick popped up and slightly broke my nose...lol. I had a bloody nose for a couple hours but toughed it out and still had a good time. I've learned to love my folding saw now...lol.
