Great video and a good fight! It brought lots of memories from this race. It was so hot that I think my brain left out some of the things from my memory 😅 hardest race I have done. Also, super hard race for the crew.
Congratulations! Have you guys secured a spot for Chicago and/or London yet? Can't wait to see those videos as well. 🤟
awesome congrats
This is my dream race I love you guys channel keep up the good work thanks.
amazing video!! never saw a better race recap of how it really is!! you two are the best!
Thank you!!! 🇩🇪💙
Congratulations, guys! you both look radiant there and the course seemed so fun!! I will run it next week and this will be my first major, can't believe. I cried at this video because I felt your energy 💕💕
Have a blast & take it all in!!!! We are rooting for you! 🇩🇪
@@texastrailduo5826 Thank you sooo much!!
Do you have a step by step instructions for it wrather than a video?
Amazing video. Doing my first 50k this year (Prickly Pear 50k in San Antonio -- Courtney Dauwaulter's first trail win was there actually, amazing that you see her), really looking at this 100k next year since it's in my neck of the woods. Seeing familiar looking terrain in this video has kinda cemented the idea for me. Congratulations man, just wanted to say thank you and let you know that you're appreciated.
Wow congrats love you guys energy 💫🫶 beautiful couple
Great effort! Thanks for sharing, cool preview of the race course.
Thank you! Hoping we can get it finished this upcoming week!
This has been a goal race of mine since it started. I’ve never been brave enough to go for it. Good for you, dude. That’s a tough tough day.
Yes!, very very tough day. We hope to be back in the near future with a better plan. Thanks for watching.
Manny - great glimpse into your race. All the sauna work did not prepare me for the humidity. I have never experienced that either. First mile in and my heart rate was 180. I love the transparency in the video. Can you tell me how this compared to Badwater135 when you ran that? Thanks in advance.
Hello John, thanks for watching. Yes, the humidity got the best of me, I felt that I was not properly hydrating myself with he amount of sweat i was losing "electrolyte intake". I couldn't believe by mile 3 that my shoes were completely soaked with sweat. I did keep my HR at around 130-135bpm and that was a brisk walk. Hopefully next year I will come up with as better plan. There were too many stops that i did not want to stop at. Badwater's temperature was a dry hot, our crew and I experienced the heat at 115 degrees but again here in Texas we do get that dry heat so my body was more acclimated to the heat. I think I prefer the dry heat..lol
@@texastrailduo5826 - same thing happened with my shoes. But we also had unbagged ice dripping from my vest. Changed 3 diff pairs in first 20 miles until we figured it out.
My son is currently on the course!
So awesome! Such a beautiful course!!
Congratulations! A successful BERLIN MARATHON and a new star on the way to the Six Star Medal. ⭐️🏅👏🏻
Thank you for watching! Yes another major star!
That is not a race to take likely and kuddos to you for trying! When you do it again (which you will) I would love to come help you crew so I can see what it's really like. This is one of my dream races. Maybe not 100 but at least the 50 or even as a team. Keep going yall!
Thank you so much for watching, Yes we plan on coming out again next year to tackle the 100 again. Maybe we will be in touch. Happy running!!
Thank you for sharing! Love your adventures. Love from Mount Holly New Jersey! ✌
Thanks for watching!
And all those cars whizzing by would drive me crazy. and all the concrete...UGH!!
Yes!! Crazy!!!
Thats a tough slog...definately a different kind of heat. Good job and effort
Thanks 👍
I dnf'd as well. Made it up to mile 67 and called it quits. I had heat exhaustion and it wasn't getting better.
Great effort! It was tough 🔥
Wow!! 17 hours in that heat/humidity!! That’s amazing!! Thank you for taking us along in your experience, Mannie and Karen!
Thanks for watching!
Was there a cut-off time ? It seems the cut-off time for this year is 6:15 hours (after passing the time measure mat) Cut-Off Point at KM 33 at 3:50pm Cut-Off Point at KM 38 at 4:35pm
Yes! The cut off time was 6:15. They put up barriers at the Brandenburg gate a little after that time. It was tough to see runners after that time not being allowed to cross the finish line and receive a medal.
@@texastrailduo5826 I was watching the video and I think she was saying she completed around 6 hours 25 minutes and still received the medal.
I finished in 06:13:18 😳
@@texastrailduo5826 did they check your bib number at the finish line before giving you the medal ?
Not that I remember. They started putting up the barriers at the finish line probably about 20 or 30 minutes after I finished because the cut off was six hours and 15 minutes from the time you crossed the starting line so I am assuming that is the time when the last person started the race.
Congratulations I know it’s almost been a year since you’ve done this. I hoping to do this one day. I was wondering who makes that neckerchief you wore I’d like to get one thx.
We got them at www.trailtoes.com where we are also ambassadors for this great company that has many products. Please use our coupon code TXTRLDUO for 10% off any product! 🙌🏻👍🏻
Congrats from Brazil. I was there in this marathon in September and I watched this video to remember everything I felt
Thank you so much for watching! It was a wonderful experience.
Looks amazing well done hope to do berlin marathon next year 25
Woow, nice ! You did not even look tired at the finish line, and had 100 more miles in you :)
Thanks! We felt amazing out there and the crew made sure of that.
Good job, this is my dream race!
Hello Brian, Yes! you must put this race on your schedule! We still dream about doing this race in the future.
How many bathrooms are there? I’m doing the race this year and that is one concern of mine. Congrats on the finish.
Hello, are you talking about the race itself of the Airbnb we rented?
For the race itself.
The race is well organized and they have plenty of restrooms at the start line, "AS2 Bald Head Island Conservancy (Race HQ) Mile 3, Mile 4, Mile 12, Mile 32, and Mile 51" and the "AS3: Fort Fisher State Recreation Area Ranger Station turn around point Mile 22 and Mile 42" Here is a link of the Aid stations just in case. You will have a blast and great way to introduce yourself to the Badwater family. www.badwater.com/event/badwater-cape-fear/#tab-route
Ty!!
Now that’s a swag bag. Nice.
Yes! We plan on headed back next year, so much fun.
Great video & experience, finish strong.💪... I wish i could get the 2025 berlin marathon lottery this year. Btw did you use go pro or phone camera for filming?
Yes! A gopro 11. Good Luck! It was such an amazing experience. The culture, the food and of course running through the Brandenburg gate to the finish line 🏃♀️🏃🏼
@@texastrailduo5826 thank you ...that must be a great experience running through Brandenburg gate. ❤️
Yes but it was tough to see those who were coming in only to be stopped due to them putting up barriers because of the time cutoff 🙁
I have just found this during my lunchbreak here in bonnie scotland , well done that man , 100k in the bag 🙏👏👏👏
Awesome! Thank you very much. Scotland is a bucket list of ours.
@@texastrailduo5826 you could come run the west highland way ,thats 96 miles and there are plenty of beautiful places to stay if you'd rather just visit and wander 🤟
Such an inspiring video! The IT100 will be my first 100 Mile race.
Thank you! This is a great well organized race. Beautiful scenery and what a great trail with well stocked aid stations. Go and get that buckle!!
Same here! Doing a 50mi (Black Hills 50) in June and looking to be ready for the 100 in Oct.
Beast man. Keep grinding!
Thanks! Only way to do it 😂
Awesome job! Question: what was the trail like? I am wanting to start doing some ultras, but I'm visually impaired and can't navigate rough terrain. I'm hoping to find some runs on even surfaces. Suggestions?
This is a great course/race to start with. It is a .69 mile loop that is flat and has a mixture of small gravel/dirt and concrete (sidewalk) We plan on doing it again next New Years weekend!!
@@texastrailduo5826 thanks for that info! Maybe we will see you there. Keep posting your adventures.
That's fun and good job both of you! I just did the Across the Years 12 hour challenge in Glendale, AZ and it was a loop as well. I would recommend if you're ever in AZ for new years to try it. Happy New Year!🎉
Happy New Year! We will check it out 🙌🏼
Awesome job, you two!!!
Thanks so much!
I'm so glad i found this video! A bunch of S.A. runners in my group were watching your progress and rooting for you! Its amazing to have such an inspiring and amazing dude in our city. I hope we cross paths out here. Will you be running Bandera this year? All the best! Super proud of you and your crew.
I am so glad you came across our video; please let us know when you have a running group together. We would love to join! Unfortunately, Bandera, our favorite backyard run, is not on our calendar this year :-(. Thank you for watching and following.
@@texastrailduo5826 I sent you a follow request on Strava. My name is Shane. I'd love to send you a message through there to talk about some running group action!
You didn't even look tired after the race.. Congrats!!!!
Thank you so much! I would say that we followed the plan from the beginning :-). A great crew is what made the difference, they had me focused and determined to finish the race with plenty of time and not to exhausted, even though we were all exhausted. We were all running on adrenalin. Thank you for following.
Congratulations!!! 🎉 👊🏼 Great job, Manny! I’ve been following you and your wife’s journey for a while, and is such an inspiration! Best wishes on your continued running Journey! 🙏🏼
Thank you so much for the support! We appreciate it. We hope to continue to inspire others with our journey.
Great video, incredible race! "I have bad gas, it stinks. " "Don't put that on the video!" Oh sweetie, we're ultra runners... we're high fiving him for not pooping himself! 😂 I love the real videos, like this, that show the good and bad, highs and lows. Watching the highlight reels just doesn't feel real.
Thank you for the support! As you know, there’s lots of good, bad, ugly, in this journey of ultra running!
Looks cool. I’ve never done a major marathon, but that one looks like fun!
Yes! Each location brings such a different yet. Fun experience.
thanks for the video -- I'm doing this in 4 weeks so good to see some of the trail. I have a ton of hiking videos if you hike at all in the western US!
Good luck on this race. It’s a fun one! We will certainly check out your hiking videos as we would love to get out west for more adventures.
Love your adventures
Thank you so much!
Well done sir 🇺🇲
Thank you so much! 🇺🇸
You, sir, are a beast. Well done. Such a cool race.
Thank you!, Death Valley is a must visit. And yeah an epic race too.
Great video guys. What platform are you all using to edit your videos?
Thank you, we use Movavi Video Editor. It's user friendly and easy to use. Thanks for watching.
Rich is a great human and friend. Always a joy to share the road or trail with him. #RunItFast
Definitely! Keep at it Joshua!
Hello I have a question This thing also appears in Arab countries and they call it a type of ghost It is called Desert Ghost It appears to people in the form of a car light, so that people think that this is a car road, and they follow this light until it takes them far away, and then these people die of thirst and hunger in the heart of the desert. I ask you, do you think this is called a ghost, as we think it is, or not?🙁
I believe its a type of something 'paranormal'. The Marfa lights have been witnessed since the late 1800's..long before the invention of the automobile so its baffling for sure!
@@texastrailduo5826 I am in my opinion to solve this Marfa Light puzzle A person goes towards these lights if they go in another direction and move away from people This is a creature of demons and ghosts Because I searched and watched a lot about Marfa Light in many videos, and they all said that there is no explanation for solving this puzzle. But I am ready to solve this mystery. Someone goes towards these lights and discovers the truth for himself If these lights stay away from him, then this is a supernatural creature and he is 100% ghosts. Because any natural phenomenon, such as the mysteries that occur to the Earth and cause fires to ignite in it, is a well-known phenomenon, and we go and watch it very closely, and it does not disappear or move away from us. But ghosts, yes, move away from humans and deceive humans in their different forms I would also like to clarify that this is not a mirage, because mirages are known The mirage is not luminous and appears in a spherical shape and rises upward and oscillates left and right This is all I have that I wanted to explain to you, thank you
Loving this film guys. I did Berlin a few years ago and had THE worst run haha, really want to go back next year and this is getting me motivated to enter the ballot 🤘
Thank you so much! We definitely would love to come back, the sites, food and definitely the people of Germany made us feel welcomed. Glad we could motivate you, happy running.
great job!
Thank you!!
Great job Manny! I've been following you and your wife's journeys for a few years now. Love the support you both show each other and how you make a great team.
Thank you for following us! We just love documenting our journey’s even though they are amateur 😂
