Thank you for keeping me company today as I knit. I love your new minis and am not surprised that they sold so quickly. I just started Demon Copperhead and am glad to hear that you love it. Being a true author is a gift. Their research, comment and the imagination is admirable. As far at the politcs go... I kinda agree with you. The pendulum has swung too far left and too far right. I feel like most of the country is somewhere in the middle. Well, I will speak myself and say that I am somewhere in the middle. My phrase for the year is going to be.... what's the best thing that can happen? xo Kim

I love you, girl you really are an awesome, very intelligent person. I think most people if they took the time to really research both sides of the political spectrum would end up somewhere in the middle. There’s extremism on both sides that that the majority of Americans cannot relate to

Always glad to see you here. You’re so honest and that is refreshing in today’s crazy world. My concerns for the Trump presidency are so great, I guess I could only be pleasantly surprised. We can’t let go of our hope for better days. I listened to Demon Copperhead on Audible and the narrator made Demon come alive. My favorite book of the year. I also love Rosamund Pilcher and especially her book, Winter Solstice, where people have compassion for one another. Very comforting, especially this time of year. After a summer of knitting 5 wonderful t-shirt designs, I’ve slowed down a bit. I’ve been doing some embroidery on wool felt and loving it as well as quilting. All the best, Gina.

Bummer. I enjoyed your content. You crack me up with your rambling and your knitting projects are fascinating. But gotta draw the line at the political talk this time and unsubscribe. Nobody said that "women want to have many abortions." They don't want the government controlling their uteruses. Plain and simple. And this is NOT about Republican vs Democrat. It's about good and evil. Trump is a racist, rapist, misogynist, who cheats his workers, has claimed multiple bankrupcies, has cheated on every wife, and makes fun of military people and the disabled. An evil man who is SO far from a Christian it is ridiculous that any Christian (or anyone with morals) could support him. He's also stupid (his college professor said he was the stupidest student he had ever had) and has made it clear he "loves the uneducated." Apparently, we have a lot of those in this country. Very disheartening.

Really enjoyed this episode and all your thought snippets. I was just talking to my husband yesterday about embracing the process of "aging". I have decided to not dye my hair and instead of talking to my grown up kids about the decline of things, to talk to them about the beauty of aging and how it's a blessing to be able to go through that process. I think any age has its pros/cons and that each individual has a choice of the kind of mindset to set fourth for whatever age phase they're currently on. I personally would not trade my inner peace, wisdom and knowledge for young beauty. It was refreshing to hear about your journey in understanding why Trump won and to know why so many people voted for him. I did not vote for him but I don't have anything against people who voted for him either. I came from the boot country 40 years ago and have lived here longer than anywhere else. I do have to say that I have never seen so much division of people here in the States until about 4/5 years ago and I find it very sad. On a different topic; I have read the CS Lewis books and Paleandra but they were very challenging for me to understand. If you like these kinds of books, I suggest reading "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho (my favorite book of all time!!!)...I read that book on my very 1st solo trip and it was transformative in my life. Sending a big virtual hug over your way!

You are so right about the red pill and the blue pill. Algorithms feed one way or another. I saw I was only getting awful things about Trump. My son was only getting pro red. It was very difficult for us to talk. The media divides us. I am worried because changes to social security or Medicare will drastically hurt many people. Not only the retirees, but there children who may have them on their doorstep. Biden let everyone know that both sides are very corrupt. Both Trump and Biden, both The GOP and the Dems are out for themselves. Our representatives in Congress are acting only to stay in congress. It seems many people attach themselves to Trump only to benefit themselves. J.D. Vance included. I’m sorry that our government has gotten in such a corrupt state, but I only hope some level of integrity comes to our government. I’m not angry. i am concerned. Glad you are feeling better.
