Bloch wrote this while living at Agate Beach, Oregon. He looked west out over the Pacific Ocean. Finally, at age 76, he had some Peace (Pacific) and his own home. Of course he was OLD, and this has deep Nostalgia. Overall?----satisfied with his life, I'd say. Perhaps he was still able to romp with his grandchildren on the sand. (2nd and 3rd movements.) He had to know that he wouldn't see them grow fully into adults. Very fine performance!

Superbe interprétation d'une des oeuvres les plus difficiles du répertoire. Rodrigo a écrit une immense page de virtuosité. Seuls quelques rares flutistes tentent l'aventure. Bien sur le créateur de le l'ouvrage James Galway, Loic Schneider le soliste de l'orchestre de la Suisse Romande et Esti Rofé, chacun avec leurs caractères propres.

Siempre me acuerdo del maestro Fernando Rosas q.e.p.d en sus programas de educación por televisión nacional de Chile, sobre Juan Sebastián Bach contaba, que el músico cada semana escribía una cantata y otra obra para la iglesia luterana de su ciudad y otra para iglesia catolica, y ahora es una obra para los israelitas.Claro, y es porque el mensaje es el mismo basado en las sagradas escrituras.

Un Tempo muy irregular

It's not watched enough because the uploader made a mistake. Both this middle movement and the finale are called 'part 2 of 3' above the screen, and I found the finale as "part 2" before i found this. Changing the number avove the finale video should be easy.

...BTW, the lyrics/vocalizations are from "Hademade Proverbs" by Shuzo Takiguchi: 'Qui va la? Qui que tu sois, parle, transparence! Who goes there? Speak, transparence, whoever you are!'

Thank you, Esti. You've integrated the vocalizations very well. Most flutist look very self-conscious and uncomfortable with this (admittedly very difficult) aspect of the piece. But you embrace it! "Qui va la?" Brava!
