Thank you for this video ,I have shitzu that has heart failure and kidney failure and is on 4 meds for all this .she had a stroke and recovered quickly but has no appetite so she takes entice medication to stimulate her palate or make her hungry ,but I’ve noticed her breathing she has some stomache or flank are movement like it sucks in when she exhales ,strange and my other dogs don’t have this type breathing movement ,this video first I’ve seen that explains the dog could be having hard time breathing

My 12 year old dog was in respiratory at home. She walked to the clinic but once she passed away at the examination table, while on oxygen. The X-rays showed several soft tissue lesions and and enlarged liver. I’m astonished that she walked to the clinic, was jumping and playing days before and succumbed like this. Does this happen?
So sorry for your loss ,I too just lost a dog December 22nd he was 19 ,we put him down as he had nothing left in him Bless His Heart,and now my shitzu is 15 and having medical problems ,so hard to see them fight thru these things
I wish we had some good help in my area. Our animals have to suffer because they often refuse to see them in an emergency. My cat died like this. I honestly have a deep seated hatred toward the vets here.

Here in British Columbia, emergency veterinary hospitals are required to ask pet owners for permission to publish the pet's image online and/or on social media. For patients where permission has not been given, we blur the patient's face. Hope that helps.
