Thank you! 🫶🏻 that would be lovely to preserve! 🍀 In my experience UV resin has less bubbles appear and it’s a lot quicker (curing under a lamp rather than waiting days with 2 parts epoxy) especially if it’s only for something small, so yes I think I would recommend UV first. I have a video on my channel preserving flowers with epoxy (I suggest your son presses the clovers first and let them dry out before putting in resin) it isn’t difficult to use per say, but it can be a little daunting 🙈

I use epoxy resin to protect the plate at the end, but you could use an acrylic paint varnish to seal in the design instead. The exact paint colours are: Titanium white Light portrait pink Cadmium red medium hue Primary yellow Brilliant yellow green Light green permanent Phthalocyanine green Hookers green hue permanent Raw sienna Raw umber

I don’t think some people realise all that goes on behind the scenes, so thank you for watching and enjoying! 🥰 the grid is something I’ve only been doing for the past year and it was like a light bulb moment haha!!

Thanks for your comment, absolutely I agree with you that free hand drawing is a great skill to have. But when you’re a commission based artist you need to be using your time wisely and tracing for a basic outline saves an incredible amount of time. It’s really up to the individual, I don’t think there is any “should or should not” when it comes to art.

@@elizabethrainefineart It really does save so much time, especially if you like doing larger pieces. Aww thank you so much. I dreaded doing the rock and decided I wanted to use pan pastels instead of coloured pencils so I could get a softer look to it, I then sprayed it with the fixative you recommend. God send! 😊 xx

Awh bless you Ceira, that’s made my day reading that! 🥰 Do you always use PanPastel as a base layer now on coloured pencil artwork? I got some Caran d’Ache Aquarelle pencils for xmas to do a similar thing for a base layer but have yet to do it, so must film a vlog experimenting with both soon!

Yes I do! I think on a few originals I may end up not using them as I bought the LAW animal set - so wouldn’t be the best for parrots etc. But I use it on all my commissions. Some I use a thin layer as I know my pencils would be better- but I find it’s really good for getting base layers on white fur especially! Which means my first layer of pencils doesn’t seem to take as long. I’d like to save up for a slice tool next and see how that works with pan pastels, if I can get it to create the same effect. 😊

Ah yeah, I saw that set and it doesn’t have those bright colours you would need which is a shame. Layers for white fur is brilliant!! I’ll definitely have to try that with the next white fur commission I get. I’ve got 2 slice tools (a standard blade and a tiny precision blade) and they’re great, so I absolutely recommend them! 🤩
