The did trail rated on CVT- I purchased 4x4 2015 Automatic and it is very capable- due to the lack of engine , patriots require momentum! The electric transfer case ( system ) is perfect and the cost of the entire vehicle is great . V6 4x4 with heated seats and sun roof = 30k . Keep the 4 banger for patriots and if you really wana off road , wtf you get a patriot for anyway consider the current Jeep lineups

I have a 2013 Patriot. It had the CVT transmission. Do not buy one with the CVT transmission. I had to replace it at 134,000. Im going to trade it in on a 14.

Why do people shit talk the patriot so much? I need to buy a relatively new vehicle that's mostly a daily driver but will need offroad capability. I don't live in Moab. Jesus it's like people don't wanna accept any vehicle other than a wrangler off road.. Thanks for the video, very impressive btw.

i currently drive a ford escape and was looking at a patriot as my ford escape is now coming to the point where you fix a problem then chase another, and i was warned by so many people to stay away from these patriots cause they are and i quote " a piece of shit" but i always kinda liked them and your videos are certainly impressive. I own a 4x4 atv so the patriot wouldn't have to get me very far in the woods anyways. I just might get one yet.

I rented one a couple years ago for a month. It did great in the snow, and got 26 mpg, but the little engine was gutless. My wife has a ford edge with a 2.0L ecoboost that could go circles around it.

These Patriots are ok with the CVT but get it in a 5 speed manual with 4x4 and for the price it is downright impressive. The pedigree is there and where it may not perform as well as a wrangler it will get better gas mileage by far for a cool 6-8 grand cheaper. Bought one in gun metal.

Where did you get that safari rack from? I was thinking of getting one because my new full spare doesn't fit in the trunk with the bigger tire size. (just got Yokos Geolanders A/T 235/65/17).

Shut up ramblurr fd2 is trail rated. I've had my patriot through stuff like this and it has no skid plates and it loved it.

I love the look of these Jeeps. Too bad they're cramped pieces of shit. No more capable than a Subaru Forester but without the fuel mileage and quality. JEEP FAIL.

FDII means that it has the Freedom Drive 2 package with low range, recovery points and more ground clearance. Mine also has full skid plates.

Why they never gave the Patriot the V6 (would love to see a straight 6 in one) I'll never know, but the engine is just too weak for true off-roading. I like the Patriot, but too underpowered.

did you change them already? Got the noises out of the suspension? I have similar issues with my MK as well, but still haven't got the ball joints or wheel bearings replaced. The issue got worse after RRO installed.
