everytime i finish doing exactly whats in the video, i go into my game and try to use the mod and it says incompatible with game version cannot activate. i tried it with all versions and all the same, if i could get some help id appreciate it!!
Follow this path: Mods studio 2 Mod manifest Basic scroll to the bottom and where it says "Compatible versions" leave that blank. i use the exact method i used in this video and it works every time.
how can i upload skins for mod trucks like rjl?
@palikka_mies the same process, you need the skin template to make the skin and the xml file for Mods Studio 2
@@Thebigdog_1984 yeah i find the tempale for rjl but i didn’t find rjl on mod studio 2 there is only basegame trucks

What if you have a modded trailer?
Then you need the template and xml file (for mod studio 2) for the trailer. Same process applies

I tried this with trailers but it doesn't seem to work...
@callysweatgamer9732 Ok Are you using the right templates?, do you have the right xml file for the trailer from the mod studio discord?. In this tutorial i explained every step that i took and still take for every truck and trailer skin i make and never have any issues.
@@Thebigdog_1984 thanks for reacting so fast, I believe I used the right templates and the right trailer. I did add a photo of google on the trailer and made it little, could this be the problem?
This is so confusing, I've made my mod for "Scania S 8x4" and all works great until I upload another mod "Scania S" the "Scania S 8x4" then uses the "Scania S" skin and the skin for the "Scania S Truck" vanishes. I've chosen only cabs for the relevant skins in the mods studio 2. Any help appreciated.
@sif1921 No idea what's going on there, remember this is a tutorial for skinning and how to put a skin in the game, not any other kind of mods or modding.
Awesome for a dinosaur like me. Cheers. One question though - the mod shows up in Mod Manager and can be activated but I don't see it in game :s
@garrett69 ok depending on what truck you've used, what game version you've made it for, and what level you've told the mod to unlock at could all be reasons it's not appearing.
@@Thebigdog_1984 Thanks. I tried using png formats instead of ddw and that worked. Now I'm struggling to make accessories (mirrors etc)

dont no if you can help but everytime i try to export i get the export failed this is the first two thing i see System.UnauthorizedAccessException Message : Access to the path 'mod_description.txt' is denied.
My only question is why the un-realistic view ?
Also the fake HUD?

My honest answer is i dont know because i dont go on tmp. The best way to find it is to give it a go and see if the skin works.
Excellent tutorial for people to learn how to skin mate,but just a quick one you dont need to save your files as a dds always save them as a png modstudio will save them as a dds for you.

You need the skin template for whatever Mod truck you've got then go onto the Mod Studio discord to see if they've got the files needed for that truck.

Yes, you need Mod's Studio for any skin, Using my skin method.
if i download the templetes (and i am a real rookie). i see these files..'front mirror paint'...'rear fender paint' and a lot more...the video does not explain why these files are not used ? So another tutorial not really for me.
Basically on the bit where you select what you are making, there's an option for truck / trailer accessories, that's what those fall under
Can i ask how you do accessories for trucks? Cuz my images are on different parts of the truck where i don't want them, like on the mirror etc
As far as I know it'll be a separate template, as for putting them in the game I am not too sure as I haven't tried to do an accessories skin just yet.
Make a separate plain color or whatever texture you want for accessories. When selecting type of paint job in MS2, go with advanced truck skin. And assign needed accessories to what plain texture.

Thanks for the comment. I don't want to say yes or no definitely because I haven't looked into making those sort of mods, or at least I haven't yet. I think it might be a different program.
