I haven't encountered that issue, but it could be in a low power/sleep mode when it doesn't detect enough movement or has voltage fluctuation while driving. If all the connections are good, you might check the settings for motion detection sensitivity, parking mode, or power saving mode.

FYI… the zipper pouch is to put a hot or cold compress in it. The castor oil actually goes on the front (like where you put on the circle pads)
