Sedona used to be a small town and artist colony for obvious reasons. The American Indians hadvthe place all to themselves at one time. There are many state parks to preserve the cliff dwellings all around that area.

You got a taste of why we wanted a place of our own to staycation whenever we wanted or could. Also, we used to snow ski. It's been years since I skied, but, our son loves it even though time and family commitments prevent him from doing it as often as he would like - plus it's an extremely expensive sport.

Ah, yes. Monterey. Our son used to live in a condo that overlooked the ocean - you passed it on the way into town. There is acwonderful Italian restaurant there with a lasagne that's "to die for." He now lives in Fresno which is one of the "gateways" to Yosemite NP. Like SF, I'm glad that the weather ccoperated and you got sun in Monterey and Carmel, but, Spring is a good time to visit since you're after much of the rainy season and before the summer fog (Karl the fog).

Glad the weather ccoperated with your visit. I live on the outskirts of the Bay Area. It's been decades since I've been to The City as it's called around here. I'm glad the city put on a show for you as, like most large cities, there are some areas of that city where tourists should not venture. Tipping is something even locals debate about so I don't think anyone would fault you since you are from out of the country. There is so much to see and do in the Bay Area that you would need a car and someone who knows the way to really get around. GPS is not foolproof and, even now, one can get into a whole lot of trouble quickly. I hope you'll come back to see and do more.

I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

Hi Helena. Just found your vlog today. I find your main channel very interesting and informative and have tried a number of your suggestions. I am a male very happily married for now 50 years to a wonderful lady who has helped me through some potentially devastating medical issues, and, though not everything's working perfectly, I'm alive and relatively well. It's interesting to me that you talk about the Universe and how it helped you find your house. Years ago, we essentially did the same thing in finding our house. We did a "marathon" search looking at many houses over a 2 week period before settling on our current house. It turned out that our house was actually in line to be purchased by somebody else, but, their financing fell through and the house became available again. It happened again with a car purchase years later and yet again when we decided to purchase a second home in the mountains. No, we are not wealthy and our second home is about the size of most family's garage, but, it's great having a place to vacation just far enough away to be "away." There is a website called tut.com that subscribes to the idea that "thoughts become things." One thing about living next to lush forest that should be aware of is that the wildlife likes to visit you and you need to know what kind of wildlife. In our mountain home, there are black bears that can break in one's house if left open. At our main residence, there are skunks, raccoons, and coyote and an extremely rare big moutain lion. The predators are known to take people's pet dogs and cats. Anyway, I dont usually participate in online chat, but, you're site seems different and welcoming. Plus you're very easy to look at and your accent is just plain sexy. Keep up your good work. Your frank and easy going talk is very useful and helpful.

Italy is a unique place for culture and history - but Italy is an absolute horror the moment you cannot escape the Italian administration - in many places the locals are rude and not welcoming - English/Australian vs Italian mind set are not compatible

Maybe you are free and you got a loto of space in Australia. We don't. We likely earn averagely the half your average salary ... this is the problem .. We and our possessions are sold off as serfs and our wealth is plundered by financial tricks. Anyway you aren't free you too in Australia, anillusion of freedom ... we have seen the "police state" you had during the pandemic ... absurd ... the worst in the world, after the Italian one. Everything you said about the roads and the poor service for tourists is true... but it's a "tourist" speech, those who live here, if they had a little more money (if they weren't robbed by taxes) would live here very well. your speech about the discomfort of living in disorganization is very understandable, but to us Italians, yours also sounds like a way of living "in cotton wool" ... "too well accustomed", as a "bourgeois" a bit spoiled and accustomed to comforts, always

Whiny, picky, entitled, you’re no loss to Italy, even less to Tuscany. Have you thought that the places you stay (with holes in the walls) might need your custom for the upkeep of their homes? Did you ask why you had to wait soooo long for the oil and wine? Your hosts also have lives and I think it’s cavalier of you to suggest that Italians don’t care because they know tourists will continue to come. Slanderous, actually. You slate Italians with one breath and in the next breath you say how wonderful they are. That’s called speaking with forked tongue.

@Jehauvv88 Actually, most of the complaints I know about have to do with American (and, to be fair, other) tourists drunkenly defacing priceless Italian landmarks and masterpieces because, you know, 'Merica. As for this massive 3rd world immigration - I have met many of them (how many have you met?). Those that I did meet spoke Italian, a significant number were Catholic, more even were Christian, and all were ready and willing to integrate. Not sure what right wing website you got your stats from. Incidentally, according to official Italian stats for 2022, approx 100,000 from Africa migrated to Europe via Italy, and this happens yearly. UN stats illustrate that 70% are skilled workers who are invited to fill staff shortages, which are endemic across Europe (this causes a brain drain in Africa). This still leaves 30,000 economic refugees. The other 70,000 contribute importantly to the economy and society in Europe. And they don't piss into Renaissance fountains, vandalise the Colosseum or get drunk and ruin the Spanish Steps. At the same time (2022), there were 3-4 million tourists from the US (the figure for Germany is 13 million, but they behave). There's massive for you. That's the HUGE difference. It really is sad that you have to apply your racist rot to a situation you're clearly unfamiliar with, regarding a country you've probably never visited. I am not Italian, I am Brazilian, but I find it very strange for a person to be in Tuscany, feel cheated because there are holes in the roads and not to speak about the Italian art you can see in Tuscany, the cradle of the Renaissance. You should either study a bit about history, art and architecture or spend your holidays in Florida, USA. They have good roads there. 🇧🇷❤🇮🇹

Being mortgage free certainly makes life easier. Due to sad circumstances (my brother in law died of cancer at 42) my father in law paid off our mortgage. Without that I was able to retire from work at 53 and be a house husband. 12 months after I retired they closed where I worked. Perfect timing.

I can relate hard to 'financial insecurity', my mother was a chronic alcoholic so I had a very unstable childhood, and as result, I'm perpetually worried about where I'm going to sleep tonight, where my next meal is coming from - and I own a house and have some money in the bank (I don't look as good as you in a dress, though). Still I worry every hour of the day. A few years ago I worked with a sales person, and every day he used to write down '6 goals'. He said that 6 was the most 'things' anyone can do in a day, and they don't have to be big things, they don't have to be work related, just what are the 6 things it's important for you to do today - one might just be 'eat a piece of fruit', or 'call the optician'.

Helen, are you an introverted and picky person? How come a woman like you with looks and brains is not married or at least in a long, meaningful relationship. I can't imagine that a real man has not discovered the jewel you are up to now. I see that you are hiding your new man's face. Why? Is he married? I can't logically comprehend. But, if he is not, I have some advice for him, a goal if you want. If he loves you, he should never, but never let you out of his life. Of course, it takes two to tango.

Hi Helena, following your journey over the years and inspired our lives, your looking and doing amazing. Lisa doubled down on nutrition, fruits.. and I was a nutritionist when Olympic weightlifter lol. As you know goals can change by things in life changing.. you look so happy where you and partner are, mortgage free, financial freedom.. releaves lots stress. Our goals change often, had 33rd operation on Sept 22th. Lisa keeps goals in order, she handles the books lol. I don't like the holidays anyway, grandkids be disappointed without Lisa lol. Our goals are good health, being financially responsible, make sure we have 2 nights a week, atleast. Hoped after this surgery I won't have to wear pantyhose 24/7 during summer atleast, but few months away, comfortable but some days.. keep hoping nerves will heal or die, but they don't.. your outro was great, can see your happiness. I'm in the same boat. I sold my home in California and got some inheritance and it's not even close to buying a house here in cash. The homes here are 1 million to 1.2 million. If it's less, the homes are not worth buying due to their condition. My goal is to buy it cash and if that don't work, I may need to move out of CA. Hopefully the market will go down on the homes but I certainly doubt it.

Another option you might consider is to buy and live in a luxury motor home, and the sale of your properties would be enough to retire on (so all your earnings would be an extra bonus). Then you could be a carefree gypsy girl, and dance every day with a red rose in your hair. (At some future point you might then buy a perfect plot of land, and build your home exactly as you like it.)

Goal #1, buy your boyfriend a nice watch. Even a used SS/black submariner Rolex would go a long way to up his game.

When are you going to start doing a podcast? A lot of times I want to listen but can't really watch because I am doing things so the video runs down the battery and heats up the phone in my pocket. Just the audio of your youtube in a podcast format. Hope that would expand your success.

It's never easy to share an honest opinion in a public place. You are an authentic person, capable of saying what you really felt like, without fear of having people disappointed. Italy suffers of all of the things you said, I live in Tuscany and I know, but the perfection lives inside the imperfection. It can be frustrating and amazing at the same time to live here. The myself of 10 years ago would never live here because of things you said and others related to work, but the more I travel and visit other Countries, the more I feel priviledged that I was born in Italy and that I live here. On the short term, I understand the impact of your trip's impression when your person is built on other habits and values, but on the long term living here pays back on a lot of things that you might discover are the most treasurable
