What can we learn about the trial and conviction of two radical journalists in Asheville NC?
มุมมอง 27ปีที่แล้ว
This is my first trial as a North Carolina lawyer in Asheville. I ended up helping represent two very cool and competent radical journalists in Asheville after being asked to do so by new friend attorney Ben Scales who I met playing music. Ben found out I had some experience with litigating constitutional law cases particularly those where the police violated the constitution. I thought the cas...

First Amendment Celebration Part I A Floyd Virginia
Lyle Rickards, what is the tuning you are using?
A beautiful, warm, charming and lovely film. Thank you! Made my day.
People, as a guy from the sticks in PA, I hope you are able to keep your beautiful town a secret. A beautiful little secret. Do not join the rest of the world...
How wonderful to see a town that has music at its heart. Well done Floyd.
The place I was looking for. I don't no when, but I'll come to Floyd in Virginia and you people keep a guitar for me!😊 Blessings from Cologne/Germany!❤️🙏
🎶💙🎶
Happy to have had you both on the show. Best of luck making that Port Authority accountable.
Moved to Sandy Ridge, NC this year. Happened upon Floyd just driving around and enjoying the scenery. Coming through town it was obvious something special was going on here - I’m like where am I?!? And then I was through town in the blink of an eye. I was kind of amazed at all the vibrance in such rural place. Been coming up for the farmers market weekly. Looking forward to hearing some of y’all play live!
Lovely music, pleasant people, well-made video. Thank you for the experience. I'm putting Floyd on the visit list for my next trip back to the US. But I have to ask - Are there any young people there? :)
Quite a few, and one less old guy, as we moved to Asheville.
@@alangraf5632 Ah, the bustling metropolis of Asheville... I used to have friends in Bat Cave.
Go Stella! Wonderful. Miss you.
Lovely film, wish I could be there playing with you guys. Greetings from the UK 👍
Greetings back at ya
Thanks for standing up for our Constitutional rights!
Oh god some of those two faced hippies are the shittiest, meanest most condescending assholes out there. ‘Make America kind again’? Let’s see what else those super ‘kind’ people have to say as soon as you turn around. I left in part to escape all those judgy fucks. Glad you’re enjoying yourself tho
Sweet!!!
Alan, glad to see you found a new groove. Play on!
Richard did u see Get Back? Time to get the Beatles cover band back together
What a treat to hear and see this wonderful music scene. Makes me want to visit.
Hope you do Mike
Wow! What a wonderful video. Floyd seems like my kind of place. Alan Graf is my kind of person. I have heard of Floyd from My daughter who lives in Stuart, VA and also from Mim of Mim's Ukulele who posts stuff about Floyd sometimes. I play the baritone ukulele, but I'm not nearly as good as all the musicians I saw on this video. I plan on visiting Floyd sometime in 2022 and hope to see some great music and meet some great people. I live in Hiawassee, GA. so it is not too far.
Mim has great Ukes--just another cool thing about Floyd
Bravo! Brava! Well done, y'all!
thank yee
This was great to watch, thank you! It was wonderful meeting you yesterday. I find so many beautiful things to discover and enjoy about Floyd each time I visit…
Keep it coming!
Awesome film Alan . I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks !
appreciate the good vibrations
This is fantastic!
Hello 👋 how are you doing?
NICE little film, Alan!
Glad you enjoyed it
This is a wonderful video about a beautiful small town that is a musical epicenter. This video is just a small taste of the variety, depth and talent of the musicians you will hear when you come to Floyd. On a whim my wife and I stayed in Floyd in 2017 at Bella La Vita and fell in love with the owners and the town. We've not been able to visit for the past 2 years but is on our calendar for 2022. Put it on your bucket list!
Glad you enjoyed it! Alan G.
Can't believe there's any debate here; the Martin blows it away.
Thanks. I just ordered a B&G mahogany. I like both, but the B&G speaks a little crisper with a little more depth to me. Thanks for the comparison.
To my ears the B&G sounds every bit as good as the Martin for my use.
As a builder, I’m dying to get my hands on one of these B&G acoustics! I’m a dyed in the wool Martin guy for years and years! Your audio set up certainly favoured the Martin, but, as you know, this sort of comparison far from conclusive. My current love is a 2018 Martin 000-28h. I’m finding it’s shorter scale far, far easier on my 62 yr old arthritic hands. My own builds are strictly heirloom gifts to family members - they can go head to head with any Martin of your choosing, but I take a couple of months to build them now ( used to be 3 1/2 weeks!) so what I’d need to charge just doesn’t compute! Thanks for the vid - you’re the only one that comes up for a TH-cam review on these B&G acoustics in late 2019!
The Martin's sound is more to my liking, but considering the price, I'd rather have a Larrivee.
By the 5th note.Martin Hands Down.
Very interesting two very nice guitars!! I am guessing the B&G is a lighter build /thinner woods ? gives it a bit more volume to the ears But the martin has that woody character voice and roundness I would love that one it does it for me. I have a OM21 Rosewood and spruce which has a more earthy sound
So, Alan, tell us what you think !
Thanks Alan. Love this video. I volunteer for inheriting any of those🤪. I really love the sound of the Caletta though. Might need to buy one even if I promised myself to never (again) buy a guitar because I loved it...
