That's been a tough issue for many cities, not just New York. It's really important for every community to work towards improving the quality and accessibility of education for all kids. I’ve noticed some areas are trying to make changes-have you seen this happening anywhere in the city?

@@visitme1 i don't work in public education but have friends who train teachers at the graduate level. These are almost all low income minority women who cannot write a proper sentence but my friends are forced to graduate them. So the system itself is more and more populated by illiterate high school and even graduate level teachers not able to teach. I did myself attend CUNY for my grad degree and saw how professors routinely skipped classes and just passed everyone with an "A". The attitude was 'well these kids aren't going to go anywhere in life anyway'. I am sure there are exceptions but what I saw and what I still here is bad.
