3:43 1951 Ahrens Fox. Still looks exactly like that today
From August of 1979?!
Great stuff! Starting at 2:50 I believe this is a different event a few years later, given the war references, plus there is a truck with "1946" written on it. I believe this is the Baldwin Fire Department's 50th anniversary parade. I remember the 100th anniversary parade in 1996, it was a similarly big event.
This video makes me proud to be a volunteer fireman 🚒🔥🔥🔥
These old firefighting videos just go to show how difficult and over complicated we’ve made things for ourselves in a short period of time.
They all got them thick NYC accents , luv it 😂
Tnx
1:26 that’s not true. Most places throughout the world are volunteer firefighter, not paid.
Grew up in Baldwin, what a selfless amazing job they did!
I was on a Suffolk county vollie dept from 1968-1972. Went on to a career first in the Air Force Then in a couple other states ending up in Oklahoma. 48 years in the fire service, but my basics were learned in those 4+ years and throughout my professional career would fall back on them. Long Island firefighters were and still are pretty damn good!! 🧑🏻🚒👩🏻🚒
That's the house I grew up in... We left in 1988...I hated to leave Long Island but I was still recovering from a bad car accident and I had to leave with my parents... In hindsight I'm glad that I did.
Does anyone know where the competitive games were held? (starting at 0:36)
Any recordings of Diane Davenport? She was a dispatcher in the early 80's.
Just cut the A posts and remove entire roof

Do you have any videos of Louis Primavera of the Wide Awakes Engine 216?
Don't get me wrong, I love the hydraulics but there's a video of door removal in under 2 minutes. Extrication RTC Training Door Removal without Hydraulics is the title.
200 on the air with a signal 9. 2010A 21.
These recently found recordings from the 70's were taped by Ex-Captain Bill Brown and Ex-Chief Tom Brown, both 30+ members of the Baldwin FD First Aid Co. Thanks to Ex-Chief Keith Eckels and FF. John Burke for preserving this historical piece of Baldwin Fire Department history
I heard that Ex-Chief Tom Brown is running for fire commissioner. That would be great..
Thats right!
nice footage buff.
beautiful looking/sounding Mack CF
the guy on the rook is having loads of fun wrecking the place with the stihl saw!!!
Very nice videos. Brings back memories. Thanks for posting them.
water????????? anyone????????????? hahaha! Venting to give the fire the oxygen it needs to burn and not a drop of water to try and put it out. Great stuff guys. Ever wondered why nowhere else in the world uses these techniques??
Why was there no water being put on this fire?
blue light parade. awesome. some things never change.
Great video. Reminds me of my old days with First Aid company #721. Miss it a lot.
