On the positive side, the marred spot is very close to the head bolt, so i think youll get away with it. Lucky it wasnt between cylinders!

H.S.D. Eddie Woods is he still in Moorabbin near Yella Terra? He'll flow bench it for you too. The blokes a wizard. The only other 2 blokes I'd recommend are Les Collins in Warragul & Mick from M & S Engine's in Westall. I'd probably go & see Mick about the block though he's the go to man for machining. Just be prepared for him to be brutal with you when you tell him what you've been trying to achieve with stones.

How would it be if you used a drill press to run the hone in? You would have to come from both ends of the block. If you hone the top the same amount as the bottom theoretically it should be true. Mind you just open up your water tight ass & shelve out the cash to have it line bored. Problem solved 🤣👌

I'd be really keen on spending an hour or 2 in your presence & drag my mate along for an educational chat. He bought a supposedly freshly built A15 early this year it cost him $3k ( no carbs or exhaust, no ignition, starter or alternator ) & no invoices to show that the build on the engine was done in the 1st place.
