In this tutorial video, knitting instructor and knitwear designer Shaina Bilow demonstrates how to work a picot stitch in a bind off. In this example, she is working the picots on the top of an eyelet spine, but the picots can be worked on other types of borders as well.
To work the picot:
Bind off to the place where you would like the picot. Slip the stitch from the right-hand needle onto the left-hand needle. Using the Knit Cast On method, cast on 2 stitches (or more if you want a larger picot!). Then, begin binding off again to the next spot you'd like a picot. Repeat the picot instructions - essentially casting on stitches and then immediately binding them off.
