It looks like a comfortable win for the Vols on paper, but after watching Tony Gibson defenses for years and what Robert Anae did with last years 1 weapon offense, I’ve got enough faith in those guys to believe they’ve got some serious curveballs ready for this game.

@cachase13 I don't doubt that! This is a huge game for state and throw in thr fact they've had extra time to prepare, I fully expect some tricks and new wrinkles. A lot of UT fans are thinking 30 point win mainly because of week 1, I highly doubt that to be the case.

We’ll talk more about the storylines and specific matchups the week of the game. This was just more of a breakdown of the Sooners so that Vol fans would have an idea of the quality of a future opponent. The Heupel storyline will be front and center the week of the game

You expect a team to get a little bit of a home whistle and that’s fine, we just worry cause we’ve all seen SEC officiating 😂

I think we potentially have a couple of lockdown corners for the first time in a while

Heupel has been recruiting elite speed at RB, WR and has it at TE with Davis. We SHOULD see a return of a lot of the chunk plays like we had in 22. It’s very demoralizing for a team to have a 8 minute drive and then for UT to score in under a minute over and over again.

@ericbaxter3487 McCoy I think is NFL guy and Mcmurray and J. Thomas are probably upgrades over what we had last year. If our secondary is better then watch out, we just might lethal on defense. Just hope Jakobe Thomas breaks into the line up soon, over Brooks.

@TerrySleuth could be right who knows. I know oklahoma fans really like this team and for good reason. Tennessee needs to beat Oklahomas Oline which is entirely possible to win

@@The_Vol4Life_Podcast Sooners offensive line has talent and experience just not together. Coach Bedenbaugh has more O line NFL players than Georgia. Volunteers must play a complete game to stay within striking distance. Oklahoma's defensive stats the last 2 years were skewed by Big 12 refs not calling holding on OU opponents as a rule. They are legitimate natty contenders

@TerrySleuth time will tell but Tennessee went 6 games last year without a live ball penalty being called on our opponents so understand bad refs. Personally and I'm sure you'll disagree I think Oklahoma needs the refs to not call oline holding to win. Our dline is very good not just James Pearce. I've seen your LT play alot, he's not very good and Bendabaugh can make him good enough to stop Pearce he should get a raise. Again, just my opinion I think UT has a better Oline and Dline. Teams rarely lose when they have the better lines.

@The_Vol4Life_Podcast I'm not doubtful of Tennessee defensive line but remember the vols brought a much more talented squad than Oklahoma to Norman and lost by 22. Football here is at the very top quality and this game matters as the SEC introduction. They'll play hard every play and doubtful the Kansas City Chiefs could withstand this particular game

Honestly can't say what kinda team Oklahoma had in 2014 but I will say there's only 2 guys on that 2014 Tennessees team that would start on this team and that's Cam Sutton and Jalen Reeves Maybin. Plus we have a much better coach now

I hope our guys will get an opportunity to carry him off

@augustuspalmer4844 I think it is too. From what I've heard is that OU travels extremely well and that on road games in the big12 most games they wouldn't be outnumbered by a huge amount. In the SEC I think that will be different. I wonder how OU and Texas will handle a little harder schedule and rougher road environments. I'm sure they won't be rattled or anything but I also think it could affect things a little. Imo the loser of our game has little chance of the playoffs

While listening to a few podcast and practice reports they seem to love the defense saying it will be the best in 10 years but overall most people think highly in preseason....even Vandy lol. I hope you are right! The home field advantage is what worries the most! If this was at Neyland id have UT has 10 point favorites . Sometimes refs will let the oline hold all game and kinda offset that big advantage we have in the trenches. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I think this is a good thing for us and we won't see a defense like Iowa had and I think OU would have to score at least 40 to beat us, maybe more. @coreygrant2549 thanks! Imo Tennessees has to win that match up between our dline and OUs Oline to have a legitimate chance imo. I dont remember how much I raved about our dline in the video but we think very highly of it. Might be the best defensive line UT has had in 40+ years of me watching it and that includes the line with John Henerson and Albert Haynesworth. But we will see what happens. I really like Tennessee’s team in general but I will say I'm concerned about our safetys and maybe our nickleback. Hope OU fans enjoy their first season in the SEC and beat Texas! GBO!

Gavin is definitely number one and then we would love to see Taylor Tatum but I believe he’s a true freshman broke a lot of records in high school. We probably won’t see him much in the SEC just a non-conference.

the addition of OU and texas to the SEC is huge, no doubt about it. i would have been fine with a couple of cupcake wins lol! The Secondary led the Power 5 in Interceptions and it's been Upgraded...... Phil Steele's review was expected...... The OL actually has more starts than anyone in the SEC, just not together. The WR Room will Not take a backseat to anyone...... There is 2nd Team players that are too good not to see the field..... And BV does have 3 National Championships as a DC...... @@kensterling5217 The last time the Vols played there I heard nothing but positive reviews of the trip and the fans. That might gradually change now it's a conference game but i expect the same thing this time with hopefully a better outcome for the Vols this time lol. Talent has seldom been an issue at Oklahoma and it doesn't appear to be this year either. We just hope to come out on top of what we expect to be a brawl.
