Futashi Sherpa Tamang

Futashi is a 7 yr old boy. His mom is a Sherpa from Solu and dad is from the Tamang community. They live in a little rented house in Thame. His mom works as a helper in other people’s houses and dad does odd jobs around. Futashi gave us a tour of his house (with permission from his parents). He is a sweet little boy. Please contact me if anyone is interested in helping him with his education.

@tmt videos Hi. Thanks for sharing. Could you please tell whether you used whole wheat flour or maida (all purpose flour)? Secondly, did you vessel in which you grated the potatoes, have some water beforehand or was it all water released by potato? Can I add some salt to the mixture?

Very happy to have fallen by accident on this recipe, I will very soon try it! But btw, there is a better option to grease the pan :the paper absorbs the the oil. My father used to put oil in a saucer or a small bowl, cut a small potatoe in halfs and use one of the halfs to spread the oil on the pan. After cooking all the pancakes he would take off a tiny more or less burnt slice... And use normally the rest of the potatoe....

Also, my friends who have traveled to Nepal (especially to Khumbu area) call it “Sherpa tea” and requested me to make a video. I guess there are many different ways of making tea and this is the Sherpa way. Sorry for the confusion! 😜

It’s very easy- use a blender to mix these ingredients- sour cream, spring onions (shallots), salt, chillies and a little bit of water. I’ll make a video soon!
