Castles of Burgundy - Special Edition Unboxing
Great video as I am considering getting this for solo play. As far as fav nature games, would say Earth, Cascadia, and a Gentle Rain. I find the theme of nature games with good art to be reinvigorating in between plays of heavier, more crunchy games. Thx for providing this play through!
Thanks for the list. It's amazing how different the opinions are on these games. I own the complete set and love them, but have very different favorites (Defenders is top 3 for me). We do agree on #1 though. For other small games, give Doom Machine from The Game Crafter a shot. It's my favorite tiny solo game.
Which would you rather play SOLO? Forest Shuffle or Canopy?
Thank you
Do you think Dungeons is worth a £35 upgrade for dungeon walls etc to add to the theme, via Etsy?
Great review, many thanks.
Thanks for saving me some $$ with your solo playthrough and review!
I do love tiny epic galaxies and have played and enjoyed tiny epic pirates. i’m intrigued about tiny epic dinosaurs. Maybe also the Western.
Nice video. Great choices. But Ark Nova solo in 45 minutes? 🤔 Would love to be able to do that. I've got 7 plays of it solo now, but I am at about 2 hours. I do take my time thinking a few turns ahead, but would not see it going near an hour anytime soon. I might be a little AP-prone though. Must point out though that I really really like it and the time flies when playing.
When an epidemic card is drawn, you need to infect that city with three cubes not one, that would’ve caused a couple of outbreaks. Besides that a very good play through, thank you for doing this.
Fine play through. Though some thoughts. Zoom in one the actual player board and the game. No need for your face camera to take up 1/3 of the screen width. Could be nice to see your cards in hand (out of screen). Very difficult to follow along with what is played as it’s so zoomed out the icons are tiny.
Of the 3 Tiny Epic games I own: 1. Dungeons 2. Quest 3. Galaxies All three are fun.
Great video! I made a campaign expansion for TE Dungeons on BGG called Whispers of calamity, you can check it out!
At around the 18 minute mark I don’t think you advanced the round tracker and you only pulled 10 tokens from the bag. Good video though!
Is the dragon on the cover an adversary?
It's always interesting to see different rankings of the Tiny Epic games. Tiny Epic Pirates has really grown on me the more I play it. I'm starting to see some deeper strategies I didn't see before which intrigues me. Besides Pirates my other top TE games are . . . 3. Dinosaurs 2. Dungeon 1. Galaxies
THE TE opinions are to much variables and sometimes cotradictory, maybe the only thing constant is that everyone loves galaxies and hate mechs
I'm in the US; got my copy and while it didn't have the moons it should have had, and did have double wooden discovery tokens, it wasn't damaged.
3 friends that got smashed boxes? Oh no... Now i'm scared. I hate damaged boxes, especially at this price point.
Maybe a silly question but are you in the US? i got my all-in today and it was packaged rather differently than yours.
In Canada! 🇨🇦🍁
That's cos this isn't the all-in. It's the deluxe only pledge minus the add ons. Only the All-in was packaged in the printed branded box which contains the dice trays, sleeves, coasters etc.
Amaaaaaazing thumbnail lmaoooo
Haha thanks! I do enough serious design at work, at least on my own channel I can cut loose!
#andromedasedge 🚀🚀🚀
At around 9m when you play card no3, dont the top green ones also go to 3?
My top nature themed games are: Life of the Amazonia Meadow Earth
A friend of mine has Life of the Amazonia and Meadow, both fantastic games. And I have an Earth playthrough on the channel, which I really enjoy! Great choices
thx for the playthrough
Tiny Epic Defenders is one of the worst games I’ve ever played. I kickstarted it and it turned me off of any other tiny epic games. I only played the first edition, though.
I have not played the first edition, but heard it was pretty bad! I would say skip it and find a theme or mechanism you enjoy in a different title.
While not a great game (design wise) i have been playing it with my 7yo and we have been enjoying it.
Nice playthrough! I was interested in the solo mode 👍 which sleeves do you use? You're happy with them?
I needed "American playing card" sized sleeves here, and found that Ryker had a good cost-to-quality ratio (at least in Canada). These have mat backs and clear front. They're a little thick for my tastes, but great quality.
Hi, what is the app that you were using please?!
Yeah of course, I've added a link in the video description, and there's also a link on the file page. The app also facilitates scoring, which is handy.
@@CardboardMinute Cheers!
I just bought this for $5 at a local thrift-type shop where they buy old or unused stuff.
Wow, good find! Kero never go the buzz it deserved.
@@CardboardMinute the only thing I think they missed the mark on was that the rounds after the first one feel a bit too short, but very fun game.
Whete is tiny epic crimes in this lineup? Also the galaxies black edition?
Galaxies black is there, I had them both combined. It's a great expansion that just makes the game even better (with some rules overhead). I don't have Crimes, unfortunately!
I have a few of these that I own but have never played. Thanks to this run down I'll probably break some out at my next game night. P.S. I do have Western and if I remember I'll bring it to this years Kanatacon if you want to try it out. Kind of funny since it's a Tiny Epic and fits everything into such a small box but the playmat is huge.
I'm definitely up for trying it! They really cram a lot into each box, and in many cases make liberal use of large cards instead of map tiles.
Awesome video. Just subbed
Thanks for the sub!
?
Thanks for the review dude, but where can i get that T-shirt????
Got it online. There's a few different sites that offer different unique designs every day.
Great video, guys! Keep 'em coming!
Thanks for the encouragement Matt!
Thank you for your review and playthrough!
Far too many ads. It's literally unwatchable. Dislike!
Sorry man, my channel isn't big enough yet for TH-cam to grant me control over ads. It's frustrating that they put so many in.
Good observations!
Thanks!
42:09 i hate every alien movie except the two first and AVP and Prometheus, those were great and a must watch before u die movies!!😊😊
39:42 i mean thematically it makes a lot of sense to only craft those places but i doubt it makes the game better or more fun, only more restricted cuz in many games it is important for the player to feel so kind of progress along the gsme other wise it could become boring...
39:20 w two copies u could manipulate potentially alot w the encounter cards ratio, i mean quiet cards vs stalker/hunt vs concealed etc...
36:54 best solo mode is probably two characters (3becomes confusing at least for me 😅) and 5 or six "hidden" objectives i think (u only reveal one at a time!)
pls tell me when u use up an item it is being removed permanently from the game right...?
31:58 it says SPECIFICALLY in the rules u just included in the vid u can spend an action in the MED BAY to get one morale, noob...😒🙄
w 3 human players its kinda like a joke u guys dont play w SIX objective cards instead of four🤷🏻♂️🤦🏽♂️
u could also begin the game w one or more equipment in one or more characters equipment slots and begin the game randomly w no scraps...
i wonder if u had a sudden death option and then instead of player elimination all equipment u had gets destroyed and goes out of the game, u begin w a new not used before character in the med bay space ,like a setback but still a compromise between the game mechanics and the theme, and if there is no more characters that hasn't been used ur out of the game, but that would probably not happen not w these rules anyways, lol
18:28 WRONG!! the alien mother destroys the synthetic in the sec movie, get yer alien facts right dude!!💩🦧👎🏼😤
waht about just adding ONE scrap for every quiet card instead?
problem was ravensburger was so stingy w the components so i believe u actually need two copies of this to really make it much more interesting for replayability and variations (jonesy tokens, horror cards, etc
